I honestly thought after the Amber Heard case people are going to be more mature about rape cases and hear both stories, apparently i am wrong and no body is even willing to listen to a judge in that matter.
Everyone that still gets accused is guilty until proven innocent in the age of the internet, a place where minors roam and decide to cancel people based on whether they like them or not or based on gender.
Hope every rapist ends up in prison, through the courts not through the social media.
What made you think people would be more mature from the Amber Heard case? Everyone treated it like a reality show.
Sadly thats true, but i hoped the end result would make people mature to the fact that abusive people can come from any gender.
Are Chelsea fans actually excited for Dembele if they get him? Dude will be a Pulisic duplicate situation.
Eh, it seems likely we're getting one of Raphinha or Dembele and tbh I'm not too invested in either, hope whoever it ends up being is successful (shrug.)
Dembele is pretty clearly better than Pulisic but I’m still extremely wary of getting Dembele. It’s pretty 50/50 as far as I’ve seen
Where do y'all think Olise will be in 5 years time?
Chelsea since he's a Cobham boy
One can dream
The way Bayern has dealt with the Lewa situation feels childish to me, I thought the club operated differently. Might be missing info/context tbf
i think its perfect, if they do sell him, then they'll get a higher price than he's worth, and if they don't, then they can set an example that no one can force a move out of bayern by throwing a public hissy fit
I don’t see what’s wrong with not letting go a top 3 at worst player in the world for like 30 million euros. Take Barca to the cleaners
Don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, just thought Bayern would be keen to move on an unhappy player and replace him with one of their usual top signings
We can't replace a premium player like him with a measly 30m-40m . So better to keep an unhappy Top tier player for another year ( NGL , Mane Lewy Coman would be amazing to see at worst case)
If you’re planning to replace Lewa with the $ from his fee I’m afriad you’re years late
I'm pretty sure our initial plan is something like Lewy -muller being the partnership for next 4 years or so. We never thought about replacement ( except briefly thinking about haaland ) . It's unlikely we get a striker as good as him near future so might as well get some money out of it / make use of his last year and convincing him to stay meanwhile
Awfully optimistic but you’ll walk the league regardless
With the squad quality we have, we'd thoroughly favourites but BVB made some good signings and has our best center back for free , so cautiously optimistic
It’s not even July yet so it’d be terrible business to let him go for Barcelona’s current offer
It's July where I am and just fyi, Bayern still haven't sold him
Shit, this changes everything
I don't think it's out of character at all. They are very strict with managing transfers and contracts especially when it comes to any appearance of player power winning out or getting bullied into a deal. You might compare to Thiago but Thiago did not go about it in the same way as Lewandowski and they already had plans to have Goretzka and Kimmich in midfield
Hmm, I agree tbh. Just feels like if the roles were reversed Bayern would be throwing and absolute tantrum right now and everyone would be making fun of Barca
Bayern are stubborn, they're rather make Lewy leave on a free after the public talks he's had
I was personally shocked at how blunt Lewandowski has been about wanting to exit even if it’s kinda refreshing. The guy is forcing a move and burning all bridges in the process. I’m sure there’s something going on behind the scenes we don’t know of
With all he's done for them I think he should get to end his time how he wants but at the same time the way he went about it was not smart at all and came off very egotistical to me.
This guy finished me omd, also the way Americans say "Premier" triggers me
I'm 99% sure it's all an act and he's not as thick as he seems but who knows
What game is this?
I wanna flex about getting 100%.
What do you think will happen first? Brazil will win it's sixth world cup, or either Germany or Italy will catch up to Brazil to win their fifth world cup?
God-Emperor Scaloni will get us to six before either happens, we're all just living in his FM save
Germany catching up
Personally I think Brazil have their best chance since 2002 of winning the whole thing.
Do people on this subreddit really believe that Son had a better season than Vinícius?
I’m not even sure I believe that
Son was not in the Premier League XI or in the Conference League XI lol
Should’ve been in the EPL XI tbh
Only the dumbest Spurs fans think that. Vinicius winning La Liga is one thing, but you take into account his CL performances and there’s no question who had the better season.
30 g/a in the premier league is more impressive than 27 g/a in la liga.
What a stupid statement
You can't just ignore the impact that Vinicius had on them winning the Champions League though. Not even just the goal in the final, but his performances throughout.
Not to mention the obvious fact that there is more to football than G/A. Vinicius being the much better player in build up and progression is relevant.
Vinicius played well in the champions league but he hardly carried the team on his back, winning the champions league was far more of a team achievement than vinicius's personal achievement.
You don't only get credited for winning something if you performed a sole carry job though. He was vital to them winning the Champions League, that's all that really matters. Scored the winner in the final and made crucial contributions in every knockout tie.
Cool, now do all comps…
Also, stats, while important, aren’t everything
Son had more goals in 7 fewer games.
Again, stats aren’t everything either
Why are you saying "stats aren't everything" like Son is just some mug who gets on the end of a few tap-ins. Son is more creative than vinicius, works harder and is a far better goalscorer all while playing in a much much worse team.
You don’t actually watch football do you?
> Son is more creative than vinicius
You have eyes. Use them.
Possibly a few Spurs fans, can't imagine anyone else genuinely believes that
What does a lever mean? What are the levers Barcelona wants to do? Have any other clubs used lever? eli5
By lever they just mean “something we can do to raise funds”
The lever they’ve “pulled” today is the sale of a % of their TV rights for a certain period of time. The idea is that will give them a cash injection now and then whoever owns the rights will make money off them in the long run
Tomiyasu - Romero - Gabriel - Tierney
Ødegaard - Partey - Bissouma
Saka - Kane - Son
Pretty much yeah. Saka over Kulu is probably the only controversy but obviously I pick Saka. He’d be fantastic playing with Kane and Son.
Fabio Vieira over Ødegaard and Kulusevski over Saka.
Surely you can't pick Vieira over Odegaard before seeing him play in the league. Kulusevski or Saka is users choice. Tottenham fans will say their guy Arsenal fans will say our guy.
Yea probably agree.
The 2010s was the dominance of German coaches and the 20s will have the rise of French coaches.
that bald German fraud
Nah this is the era of the Dutch bald men
Care to give some examples who you think could reach the level of Klopp, Tuchel, Flick, and so forth? I’m pretty much drawing blanks (besides Zidane of course)
To add on to what the other guy said, Bruno Genesio(or Pep Genesio as he is often called)as well.
Stephan, Haise and Galtier are the ones with a chance to do so
No man with a first name as last name shall ever become a world class coach, sorry.
As of midnight João Moutinho is no longer a Wolverhampton Wanderers player.
Most underrated Portuguese player of his generation
End of an era
This is the last comment I’ll make on Barca for a while, else i get banned.
I firmly believe that Barto and Laporta are just two cheeks of the same arse.
Yes but one is a smartass while other is a dumbass
Barcelona as a business enterprise are fundamentally flawed, I'm sure various bosses have installed many of their own corrupt men
Because the way it's set up you end up with politicians as presidents.
You can see it clearly in Laporta, he's a politician through and through. He talks like one.
Not that fan ownership is bad, but Barça means so much more than a football team to the city, that the club elections are more followed than actual elections, and you end up with people over promising and doing whatever to look good and let the financial mess fall to the next guy (like Bartomeu did)
100%, and I believe most of the socios are quite old
[Norwich City's home kit for next season.](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggaSc6sTk27C9pBFJMfbx5RtUvOd4KLdtbee4Mo8jIVuN3Q8xskQMFHch2Exk2E7PztImZm6HDvc65zFOuA2HfXzO2qALYu9TeqnXDVuXxdAk9qVGdD-ct4vyws_IWnS6OdjBOtNBmJAZO4WzfBs6kYGbTbmAZB_Vkc70PxSfi-Cl91OxrBtUR_jtR/s1600/norwich-city-22-23-home-goalkeeper-kits-8.jpg) What a beauty.
That looks sick! What is that kit logo?
That’s their new logo, just came into effect last week
Joma, they also make kits for Atalanta, Villarreal, and Ukraine of the top of my head
Does De Jong’s price go up now that he wasn’t signed before the end of the financial year?
If our reliable journalists are to be believed, a fee has already been agreed between the 2 clubs. Barca pulling the plug on that would be incredibly bad form on their part.

Maybe their fax machine will break!
With £56m about to land? They'll be running backup generators on that fax machine
obviously Lenglet is a bit of a meme player but considering the situation choosing him kind of makes sense. neither of the top quality targets in Gvardiol and Bastoni are available, and it’s clear that Conte is prioritising ball playing over defensive capability (ruling out players like Ndicka) so that leaves us with two main options:
paying £50M+ for Pau Torres
paying a £6M loan fee for Lenglet and reevaluating the market next summer
people making fun of us for going from Bastoni to Lenglet id genuinely rather have the second one. Spanish Lindelof does not move me especially for the quoted fee.
You can't trust Lenglet. It is a bad signing for sure
Spurs fans would’ve said the same about Sanchez after his disastrous 20/21 season, but he was a changed man under Conte, and considering how long Romero was out for we certainly don’t get top 4 without him. Juve fans also said the same about Bentancur, another player we don’t get top 4 without.
i wouldn’t write any player off is all i’m saying.
I think it's a smart move
Him getting lenglet for peanuts doesn't mean he's done with Cbs though right?
we’re likely going to get another CB alongside Lenglet yeah, but it will most likely be for the central role and be a big money signing
What do you think about the new [Boca kit](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FWh96EWXEAE_so3?format=jpg&name=900x900)?
I think it's the best one we had in a while. Also, it will release with no sponsors because we have none at the moment.
I still firmly say the only people that can like that color combination are people who simply like boca enough to justify any color scheme
Ibrahimovic and Kulusevski will appear at your door if you keep slandering the beautiful blue and yellow.
I specifically meant boca's typical dark yellow on dark blue, tbh, so Zlatan can sit back down
What do you think about yours btw? Not sold on the pattern myself.
I didn't like it. Think the one we wore last season was better. I'm generally in favour of large stripes. It fits my idea of what a Flamengo kit should look like.
But Adidas often changes it in an effort to make one season's kit very different from the previous
Large stripes are definitely the more original look, feel like it's a classic look for you.
Will look great on players but for most fans ehh
Collars in football kit is always a big no for me unless its retro
It's actually a bit retro, inspired on [this kit](http://d2r9epyceweg5n.cloudfront.net/stores/001/088/519/products/fiat_01_ws21-42b1b8c204b9300a6e15766547894095-640-0.jpg)
Doesn't look bad, but I have no idea about your other ones to compare it to.
[Why would you do this to yourself](https://imgur.com/a/IxuHOBZ)?
Some people's pain threshold continues to surprise me.
That Thomas Helmer connection
Guendouzi at Hertha is possibly the latest "He played there??" transfer
Am I insane, or did DAZN remove a whole bunch of PL highlight videos from Youtube?
Start, bench and sell: Jesus, Firmino, Richarlison.
Richarlison, Firmino, Jesus
Start Richarlison, Bench Gabi J, let Firmino Skylark run the contact down
Start richarlison. Bench firmino sell jesus. Tbh all of them aren't clinical enough to be dependable for scoring to start. Selling jesus because he's got the highest sell on value. Start richarlison for the shithousery, bench firmino cause he can have once in blue moon impact
Release on a free: Firmino
Jesus, Richarlison, Firmino
Start Richarlison bench Jesus sell Firmino
Currently, Richarlison, Jesus, Firminio.
I rate Richarlison over Jesus (most notably taking in mind the clubs they play for) and Firminio just hasn’t displayed the magic he had over 2 years ago. Probably controversial and recency bias but so be it
Yeah same. I really want to start Firmino but I'm not high IQ enough to.
Who is Firminio
Both Richarlison and Jesus are super reliable for the national team. I think they are both top tier players but very highly dependant on having the right setup and manager.
Richarlison literally starts over those two for the national team
That doesn't really mean anything though. I think Tomori is better than Maguire and Maignan is better than Lloris. They don't start for their national teams.
Lloris is easily explained away by the fact he’s the captain.
you may not rate Maguire ahead of Tomori but Tomori was not good for England when he finally got picked. additionally: Maguire is quite two-footed, hence why he’s played on the left, Tomori isn’t that good a ball player in general, and he also plays in a back 3 in a weaker league.
Yeah but that's my point. Getting time over someone for your national team doesn't inherently mean you're a better player. A lot of the time it's down to allegiances, experience, playing style. Tite playing Richarlison over Jesus wouldn't automatically make Richarlison a better player.
i mean part of my comment about Maguire is that Tomori plays in a back 3 in a weaker league - that’s me implying that Tomori isn’t a better player than Maguire, he’s just sheltered by circumstance.
Richarlison is the same age as Jesus and has been picked for Brazil for 2 less years so he’s not more experienced, and they have similar enough playstyles it’s fair to compare them.
Richarlison is certainly better than current Firmino regardless.
Richarlison and Jesus don't even really play the same position for Brazil, Richarlison was playing off of the left for most of the Copa America and since then has played less than Jesus.
I agree that Richarlison is a better player than Firmino, but your justification is not right. There are hundreds of examples of players not starting over their worse counterparts at national level. Jesus and Richarlison are relatively different styles of players, they play different roles for Brazil, Tite might like one of them more from a personality stance, etc. We can't decide who is better based on national team roles, think about France and what would happen with the way we rate those players.
fair enough, i haven’t watched too much of the Brazilian national team recently so maybe i’m wrong.
We sign De Jong, Kessie move to Barcelona somehow collapses, we swoop in for him on a free. The dream scenario. 😁
you do NOT want Kessie in the Prem, Thomas Partey 2.0
Are you talking solely about injury issues?
I think the midfielder we all want to be signed in addiiton to de Jong is gunna end up being the already-signed van de Beek.
Too lightweight pivot
He won't be in the pivot, he'll be on the bench, it'll definitely be Fred. But I think we aren't gunna sign someone cause we got Donny.
Fred is not a good enough pivot player
He could be next to a better partner, and not McTominay.
I don't remember him looking good with Pogba either
People genuinely have the shortest memories on this platform. 2 weeks ago, Arsenal were returning to midtable mediocrity because we hadn't been linked with enough transfer targets. 1 week ago, we were overtaking Spurs and Chelsea because we signed Vieira and Jesus, and were suddenly linked with Martinez, Tielemans and Raphinha. And now we're in the duldrums again, because there aren't enough leaks, and one of our transfer targets hasn't panned out. Presumably we'll be linked with a couple of names in the next few days (who all the r/soccer experts will label to be unbelievable and unmissable talents despite never watching them), and the zeitgeist will be that we're on the up again. The inability to contextualise information, and consider more than the last match or the latest gossip is as irritating as it is incomprehensible
I'm not reading all that
I'm happy for you tho
Or sorry that happened
Both of those signings are (or look in the case of Vieira) awesome, you'll almost certainly be much stronger this season even with just those two. I think it'd take a few windows for you to overtake Spurs and Chelsea though, obviously depending on how Martinelli/Saka push on next season and what signings you make for the rest of the year. No matter what, though, you seem to be making smart signings.
Only r/gunners really thought Arsenal were overtaking us and Spurs
Mate no one other than Arsenal fans thought you were overtaking Spurs and Chelsea after signing those two. Everyone knew Spurs and Chelsea would spend loads of money in the upcoming weeks.
1st of July is basically football's New Year's Day
Na that’s first matchday of premier league
How much would De Ligt cost?
If we’re talking straight cash here I really think they want €90-100m (probably more likely on low 90s or 85 + add ons)
€120m according to Juve.
Danny Drinkwater is no longer contracted to Chelsea Football Club. Historic moment.
I’d like to say one of your worst transfers but that’s debatable. Torres, Lukaku, Bakayoko, any of the other strikers that you had signed…
Nah mate we got Kante and Drinkwater for a 70m double deal, no need to look too closely at who cost what individually imo. Also Nando has no business being anywhere near Lukaku on that list
When you put it like that it’s a steal! can’t believe almost every team weren’t in for Kante after seeing him in that Leicester team
God just bring back the games, I'm already tired of all the news and transfer saga. Damn I miss football so much.
For the first time in a while I'm actually enjoying the break. Soaking in our Scudetto as much as possible
I’d be watching season highlights during off season every damn day if we win the league again.
Trust me, I have been haha
Good for you dude. I'm just sick of repetitively seeing how much the news about a transfer saga alters after every few hours. At one point we're signing Lewandowski, Raphinha, Bernardo Silva etc. And then we're not even capable of registering Kessie and Christensen. Just let me watch whatever players we have play a game.
Yeah trust me, I know how you feel. It'll come soon enough
Ousmane Dembele is officially jobless
Have they announced his departure yet?
even when a contract finishes you still have to release the player.
He's still a barcelona player until then.
Can you explain to me why a club should have to release them? Their contract ends, and their player registration is only linked to the club as long as the contract runs, what does "releasing" a player practically accomplish?
i think its just a formality thing - in FM I've had players still stay at my club who were not offered another contract by me or another club.
Of course the player could also leave of their own accord but if they didn't I had to release them.
It doesn't signify anything, it just means that the relationship between the club and player has ended
In FM, they automatically sign the player on a month to month contract usually only in lower leagues or reserve/youth teams tho. For the first teams in premier divisions, players leave as soon as their contract is up, so you are not stuck paying hefty wages
Seems like a scenario where you’ve been fired but just show up anyway and hope no one notices. “What’s he doing here?”
So basically if it's announced he's been released we can confidently declare dude won't be signed to another contract at Barca, as is he is a free agent but Barca might still end up re-signing him.
Yh - I can only see a departure/release announcement being made if contract negotiations fall through
João Moutinho will be a free agent in one minute
u/GreatSpaniard Jason Cundy has grown on me man
I am a bit anxious going into the season with the new Tuchel signings. If everything works out, then that's perfect. But if they do not, and we struggle during the season, then Tuchel might be seen as the perpetrator because he was responsible for the signings, and he might even get the axe
He should get the axe if the signings don't work. He was supposed to compete last year, was nowhere near.
I don’t see the new owners being so gun-ho with firing managers. Even if we finished 5th (or maybe even 6th but that’s pushing it), Tuchel would stay for atleast the following season.
Anything but CL and Tuchel deserves the sack.
We're not getting anyone as good as him if we get rid.
I mean I love him and I highly doubt that situation arrives but if he gets his targets and fails to get CL he is replaceable
We barely made CL the season we won it if it wasn’t for Spurs (and Bale) saving us on the last day. It can come close and still keep the job imo. But who knows
Yeah it doesn’t matter too much if it is close although I would like us to be securely third at the very least especially if we get all our targets. Also would like a trophy. Anything below 4th is easy sack
how do you say mane in french? Is it like maine or mahn-ae
Not really. It‘s nothing like the English pronunciation of „man“ and é doesn‘t sound similar to „ay“
Which Juventus player jersey should I buy, Chiesa or Vlahovic or deligt
De ligt may leave, Chiesa is injured but will probably be the biggest club legend out of the 3
Personally would go Vlahovic but it’s whoever you like most mate
[This gem](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/vo2b4u/cristiano_ronaldos_lawyers_seek_626k_from_womans/ieakmgn/) got 2 gilds, wtf.
There are some very strange people around that won't hear a bad word said about Ronaldo
Ferran Torres for 60M € was, in hindsight, a hilarious deal. Those signings are exactly why I don’t feel bad for the predicament that Barca is currently in.
