Newsflash, if you wanted him for cheaper you shouldnāt have waited until Dortmund and Bayern stopped our need to sell players.
how dare you entering the big number market without being in the top three leagues team. Shame on you. European football is 3-4 leagues the rest dont have a right to success. Financial or trophy wise
I'd say it the opposite.
Few years ago we've seen a high reduce of bangers. The last couple years is when it came back to being a regularly occurrence, particularly in the Prem.
Feels like there are less through balls/clear one on ones in the big leagues.
The only time I saw lots of those chances in La Liga was the last few match days when teams had less to play for. Same with Ligue 1 and the prem.
Lots of very organised defences which means less time to do something like a chip on the keeper.
Reckon tactics have caused this?
Lukaku - I see no reason for him to struggle. He's still a good player just wasn't motivated for us or used well by us. Inter are the best attacking team in Serie A and he's an improvement on Correa/Dzeko.
I'd back him to get the serie a golden boot next season.
No one is interested in Schick and for good reason. Wirtz on the other hand could be worth 100m+ if he comes back as strong as he was before his injury
Leipzig can't risk not following that agreement, as they are dependant on young players wanting to use them as stepping stone. If they force players to stay, then they lose much of their appeal.
He said that he didn't want a rc because that would mean that the buying club would have to pay the entire fee up front, which would hinder many clubs from approaching the player, all while he was slurping a Frappucino
Nasser Al-KhelaĆÆfi:
>"The dream is one thing, the reality is another. Maybe we should change our slogan... Dream Bigger is good, but today we must be realistic, we no longer want flashy, bling-bling, it is the end of glitter."
>"We want players who love the club, who love to fight, who love to win. [...] For next season, the objective is clear: work every day at 200%. Give everything we have for this shirt, give the maximum and we will see the result. We have to be humble again. [...] Whoever wants to stay in their comfort zone, whoever doesn't want to fight, they will stay on the sidelines."
>"My goal for the next few years is to have only Parisian players on our team. There is so much talent in our region."
How full of shit is he? Because it's good PR with local fans who can't stand the current direction, but they're also getting Galtier, apparently Fofana, fits the bill for an actual change of direction toward a more hardworking PSG.
This sounds very unlike Qatar/NAK, so i'm wondering if the Mbappes aren't behind this. They have more interest in a functional team than Qatar/NAK who only cares about buying PR with big names.
Worker being more competent than management, i think a lot can relate. Props on the Mbappes for finding the leverage to influence their workplace for the better. He isn't 25yo and he's already strong armed a trillions rich state into a class warfare masterclass. Proletarian legend.
Instead of recycling the mbappe sporting director meme, maybe consider the fact that they now have a competent sporting director instead of the clown that is Leonardo who is interested in building a team instead of doing whatever Leonardo has done.
The club has obviously also realised the outrage in recent years that all their talent keeps getting sold and unbothered superstars fill their places. Nkunku, Coman, Diaby, Ferland Mendy, Maignan, Guendouzi and many more all came through their youth setup so they should definitely try to focus on it more.
Next summer Nkunku will be their big statement signing with a campaign along the lines of giving back PSG to paris.
Isn't much of a surprise tbf, a president is going to be talked about in most households around the world, especially one as controversial as Trump.
Football o nthe other hand as popular as it is wont be talked about in every household.
Trump being more famoous isnt a surprise in the slighetst, but the fact that so many had never heard of Ronaldo. I mean I think most of us on here dont give a damn about basketball could still name LeBron and Michael Jordan.
Yh fair point, maybe it's because were into a sport in general and you just hear about other sports through football if that makes sense.
I guess there are some people who don't follow any kid of sport.
Good catch, I remember the Lampard transfer was a bit controversial as he was supposed to go to NYCFC and stayed at City for the whole season instead of joining New York at the beginning of the MLS season
u/el_rompe_toyotas-19 got himself his 2nd win, and for the second time he got the perfect score - 16/16! You guys are getting better and better, it's getting much harder to surprise you with these questions. But I am still going to try. Especially today, as we celebrate our 25th edition!

!PING TRIVIA
Bit late, but oh well:
>!1 Aubameyang!<
>!2 Eto'o 2010!<
>!3 2008, Spain v Portugal!<
>!4 2nd in top goalscorer race in the Bundesliga behind Lewandowski!<
>!5 Rafael Marquez and Hugo Sanchez!<
>!6 Real Madrid 2000, last team to feature in a final is Bayern in 2012 (unless you count Liverpool in Cardiff in 2018)!<
1. >!\>!Aubameyang (Barca/Arsenal/Dortmund/AC Milan/St Etienne)!!\>!Eto'o!!\>!2004?!!\>!Scoring a brace against Bayern in the last decade?!!\>!Matthaus and Marquez!!\>!Last team to win Inter 2010? Last team to feature Bayern 2012!
1. >!Aubameyang, played for Barcelona, Arsenal, Dortmund, St. Etienne, donāt know who he played for in Serie A but I think itās him!<
2. >!Etoāo!<
3. >!No idea, random guess, 1988?!<
4. >!Top Bundesliga goalscorers? Other than Lewa!<
5. >!Rafa Marquez and Lothar Matthaus!<
6. >!Dortmund won against Juventus in 1997, Bayern lost against Chelsea in 2012!<
>!Q1, Q2, Q5 and Q6 correct. Q3 wrong. Q4 I'm conflicted. Those are 2nd top scorers in seasons Lewy was the top scorer. I guess I cannot give you this, so 10/16!<
1. >!Liverpool legend Christian Poulsen?!<
2. >!Samuel Eto'o for Inter, I can't remember anyone else after that. I don't think Real had any African starter in their fiinals, and I think that Benatia joined Bayern after their UCL win!<
3. >!1992? Total guess for the teams, Spain and France!<
4. >!This one's driving me crazy, because I'm thinking of a bunch of things that kind of fit but I can't think which one's the best. I was thinking something of scoring lots of goals while not at Bayern maybe, but Mandzukic being there and the lack of Grafite/Dzeko.. maybe outscoring Lewandowski, home or away, or at a single round. i'll go for a weird one, scoring more goals in one Bundesliga round than Lewandowski, since the later plays in Bayern***!<
5. >!Matthaus is one. For the other I'll guess Tim Cahill, I can't remember if he played in 2018 tho. (Fun fact: Mexican gk Campos played in 5 WCs, and he was used as strike sometimes- so technically he could count!)!<
6. >!Last finalist: Bayern in 2012, losing at their own stadium vs Chelsea. I can't remember where some finals were played tho. I assume the last winner was before that, maybe Manchester United in 2008!<
>!Poulsen, for example, missed Ibra at Juve. Q2 correct, Q3 as well, but Spain beat Poland that day. You were very close in Q4 - they were 2nd best goalscorers in Bundesliga in seasons when Lewandowski was the best scorer. Matthaus correct, Cahill is not. You are also confusing Campos with Carbajal. Campos did play as a striker sometimes, but he was at only 3 World Cups. Carbajal was Mexico's GK as well, he was at 5 World Cups, but never played outfield afaik. In Q6 Bayern correct, United wrong. Overall 8/16!<
I suck so bad, but thanks for doing! Really fun brain teasers.
Edit: was doing it from my phone, so It messed it up, deleted the comment to avoid spoiling the quiz
>!1. Aubamayang (spelling is atrocious, not a spelling test though)!<
>!2. Eto'o in 2010.!<
>!3. Don't pay attention to Olympic football. Guessing 2004, Spain and Netherlands!<
>!4. Top scoring player in the Bundesliga that isn't Lewandowski since 2010.!<
>!5. Matthaus I know, Other I think is Marquez from Mexico.!<
>!6. Last to win would be 1997 Dortmund in Munich while last to play would be Bayern in Munich in 2012.!<
>!Q1 correct, spelling wasn't *that* bad either. Q2 correct. Q3 wrong. Your answer in Q4 would generate either 13 players (Buli top scorers if Lewandowski ceased to exist) or 6 players (Players who actually were top scorers but they are not named Lewandowski). Real answer would be "players who finished 2nd behind Lewandowski". You were very close here so 1/2 l. Q5 and Q6 correct, so overall it's 11/16. I think it's your best score for a while, ain't it?!<
>!Q2 correct, Q3 wrong, Q4 correct, Q5 Marquez is correct. One of the teams in Q6 is correct, but I need the years too, so 6/16 for now, but you can still precise Q6!<
>!Although Madrid won in 1998, it wasn't in their stadium, so that's incorrect. Dortmund 1997 was good. Bayern 2012 is correct, so it's up by one point, 7/16!<
>!1. Auba!<
>!2. Must be Eto'o!<
>!3. I'm guessing 92 and Spain, remember that while reading Luis Enrique and Pep wiki's pages, another one, IDK, Poland?!<
>!4. Behind Lewandowski in league goals?!<
>!5. MatthƤus and MƔrquez!<
>!6. Bayern 2012, in their backyard, and Dortmund, um, 98?!<
>!Given your question marks and general way of writing those I suspect you were guessing many of them, but all of them turned out to be correct! But... Dortmund was in 1997. Real Madrid won in 1998. So just short of a perfect score, as I give you 1/2 for Dortmund, it is 15/16!!<
>!Q4 and Q6 were half-guessed, got almost all of them right is great, but you can say that Q3 was shithoused to correct answer again, haha. I picked the year because of personal reason, then thought of Pep, then picked Poland again, cus well, it's you. Lol!<
The quiz is really getting better tho. I just think that it's been nearly a month at this point, everybody just consume some old clips and stories between downtime anyway, so that's why the scores are getting higher.
>!Thing is, often when the answer is Poland related, I just pick it intentionally, but this time it was accident haha. I thought to myself, Europeans seem to suck at Olympics, when did they... 2008 not, 2000 not... Oh wow, it's actually our loss to Spain.!<
I never thought of that but you might be right. During the season everybody is interestednin live football, and during the offseason they go down the memory lane just like me every day and they get better. Only other possible explanation I thought of might be that after 25 quizzes people get to know me better and my thought process gets more familiar, therefore quizzes are easier for regulars, despite them not *really* being easier

oh jesus that looks hard
- 1 = >!I am absolutely going to have to throw out a wild guess here, because I have no real lead to go on. Can't even think of anyone that's played in all 5 leagues off the top of my head. Maybe someone like KPB who it seems like has played for everyone?!<
- 2 = >!I think Eto'o started the 09/10 final. Can't think of any African players in the 5 Real Madrid teams, and you've already ruled out the 2 Chelsea and 1 Liverpool titles, so that leaves only 4 other seasons between now and 2010. I think I might stick with Eto'o 09/10 as the answer here!<
- 3 = >!I have to say that Olympics football is not generally something I pay attention to. I believe Argentina won in 2008 and Brazil in 2012 though, because I think both Messi and Neymar have won it before, so let's rule out them. I don't think you'd drop a 2021 answer on us either, so with that in mind I'll guess at 2004, and guess it was Spain v Serbia and Czech Republic on the logic both had good youth prospects at the time!<
- 4 = >!Pfft, no idea. Are they the only players to score from their own half in an international tournament? That's literally just pulling on the Schick thread and hoping everyone else matches!<
- 5 = >!I don't know any for men. But I notice you didn't specify men for this question where you did for the Olympics, so I can loophole this with two women that I know would be correct. The first two people to score at 5 World Cups - Marta and Christine Sinclair!<
- 6 = >!In 11/12 Bayern lost the final in their own backyard so they're surely the last to feature. To win I suspect you have to traipse back a long way, maybe one of the early 00s tournaments. Let's guess at 99/00 Madrid!<
Really tough today
>!Q1 was a good shout, but despite playing for 473823 teams in each of top 4 leagues, Boateng never went to France. Q2 correct, 2004 was all Conmebol final tho. You'd have to go back to 1992 for Spain vs Poland for this. Q4 wrong, to my knowledge only Schick did it. Q5 wrong, but that is a loophole that I missed, so I have to give you points for that haha. Bayern correct in Q6, Real Madrid wrong, so overall it's 7/16!<
And yeah that is hard, I have to uo the level cause some people kept scoring 100% hahah
>!1) Aubameyang!<
>!2) I'll go with Eto'o!<
>!3) 2008!<
>!4) As always, I suck at this!<
>!5) Hmm, I'll go with Pele ant Lothar Matheus (spelling)!<
>!6) The last team to feature and lose - FC Bayern at their stadium. Lost vs Chelsea in 2012!<
>!The last team to win it in their own country - no clue, maybe BVB in 1997!<
>!I have gotten 50% a few times before. My goal is to go above those 50 and I'm always 1 point away. My main problem are questions like number 4. I always see the obvious connection between the players/clubs (like all being strikers in Bundesliga) and I either overthink it or just don't see the obvious answer). Maybe I shouldn't rush my answer and think better.!<
>!This one time the question was about foreign captains winning the CL. I was looking at their names and my thought process was - Benzema - French player, captained RM to CL win this year, Zanetti - Argentinian, captained Inter to CL win 2010, Schmeichel - danish, won CL with man united in 99 and was probably their captain, Azpilicueta - spanish, won last year with Chelsea as their captain. And I still didn't figure the answer when it was in my head...!<
That's weird, at that point the answer should be already given. All you needed to do was thinking about literally any other CL winning captain and go "Henderson - english, captained Liverpool... English team... Aha!" I thought you were trying to get to 50%, not surpass it, but there is always tomorrow!
>!Q1 wrong, Q2 correct. Top scorers excluding Bayern would generate tens of players in history, also MandżukiÄ achieved it at Bayern. Top scorers behind Lewandowski is the way to go. Q5 and Q6 correct as well, so 11/16!<
No idea for the first one
>!Etoo for Inter!<
>!1992, in the Barcelona olympics, Spain beat Poland!<
>!They have been 2nd in the Bundesliga topscorer race behind Robert Lewandowski!<
>!Rafa Marquez and Matthaus!<
>!Dortmund won it in Munich in 1997, last ream to play in their own country was United in 2011!<
1. >!Aubameyang?!<
2. >!Is it Samuel Eto'o for Inter in 2010? I can't think of any other African players to have won it for a non-English team!<
3. >!I know Spain won at the 1992 Olympics, so I'll go with 1992, Spain vs France!<
4. >!they all missed penalties in the German Cup final!<
5. >!Lothar Matthaus and Rafael Marquez!<
6. >!Last team to win in their own country: Juventus in 1996? Last team to feature in a final in their own country: Bayern Munich in 2012?!<
>!Q1 and Q2 correct, Q3 almost correct, but their opponent was Poland. Q4 wrong, Q5 correct. Bayern is correct in Q6, but you missed the other one by a year, Juve is wrong. Solid score overall it's 11/16!<
>!Even 4. But Villarreal never won a title and Reina didn't play in France. Q2 wrong, Inter 2010 had Eto'o. Q3 wrong, Q4 close, but still wrong, Q5 wrong as well. I don't recall having similiar question, but after 25 editions it is possible I'm forgetting things, but Q6 is correct, so 3/16!<
1. >!Aubameyang - May his streak continue :)!<
2. >!Inter with Eto'o. Dont think Madrid/Barca/Bayern had any.!<
3. >!1992 - spain v Poland. (Please no women football. That would be last to last so 2016)!<
4. >!Finishing 2nd to Lewandowski in Bundesliga top scorer list!<
5. >!Rafa Marquez, Lothar Mathaus!<
6. >!Feature: Bayern 2012 - Allianz Area, Winning - 1997 Dortmund!<
>!Q1 correct, your intentions very much appreciated as well haha. Q2 correct. Q3 correct, I specified it's men's tournament only. All remaining correct as well, which means you have your first perfect score! 16/16. What do I do to surprise yall anymore?!<
Finally :)
> What do I do to surprise yall anymore?
Your quizzes are getting tougher, takes more time to get to the answer. Surely there would be days when we wont get those.
>!I am thinking the same thing every day, but still for the 4th day in a row someone goes max. That's why quizzes are getting harder, I am trying to create the situation, when anyone can actually beat a winner, again. Gonna keep trying!<
1.>!Auba!<
2.>!Yaya Toure!<
3.>!I'll guess 2000 France v Czech Republic!<
4.>!They have all been nutmegged by Glenn Whelan!<
5.>!I'll guess Cafu, Klose !<
6.>!Bayern losing to Chelsea, and I'll guess Real Madrid won it in Spain!<
>!Auba correct, Q2 wrong, Q3 completely wrong. I'm starting to see some kind of agenda with Whelan here... might be wrong tho hahah. Q5 wrong, Bayern as a loser is correct, Real as a winner is not. 2/16!<

Do you think thereās a genuine argument for Modric being rated over Xavi? See people say hes better because of longevity but I donāt think it applies when Xavi still has more minutes played
When all is said and done, modric will be rated higher. After all, he's not retired yet and people already say he is on par/better than xavi and iniesta so if he continues playing like he is now he definitely will surpass them.
There may be a discussion to be had (personally don't think Modric is better), but the longevity argument is so weird, with how people speak about their careers you'd think Xavi had this really short career, when in reality, 17 years of playing at the top level is really good.
from what i've seen the longevity argument isnt about actual time played but more about time spent at, or close to, their peak. because Xavi has this rep of not being relevant before the pep barca era
That's because he was a holding midfielder before busquets was promoted. Xavi was the player of the tournament in 2008 even before Pep coached the first team.
Longevity is not a genuine argument in this case. It's not like Xavi had a short career like R9 or Ronaldinho. Would those same people say Vardy is better than the two brazilians mentioned above?
At their peaks? Absolutely not
Based on league campaigns & cups? Hilarious.
Based on non domestic competitions? '08 Euro, '09 CL, '10 World Cup, '11 CL and '12 Euro beats Modric's 3 CL in a row
Based on longevity? Xavi's first league title was in 98/99 and left Europe with a treble in 2015. Luka Modric has 0 titles in the top 5 leagues until he was 29-30
Are you seriously trying to argue the 98/99 title for Xavi? Is anyone actually saying he's world class until 2008? I've watched Modric since 2004, he's been world class under every single manager
A World Cup final with Croatia is an achievement that arguably rivals those Spain ones, especially when looking at the teams.
> I've watched Modric since 2004, he's been world class under every single manager
If Modric was world class since 2004 it is absolutely delusional to say Xavi was only world class from 2008 onwards.
Yes I am. Xavi's longevity should never be questioned when he won titles between 1999 and 2015 and has more top 5 league seasons than Modric.
If you think Xavi magically became world class in 2008 then you are the absurd one here. The '08 Tiki Taka Aragones team was different from the Pep team. The 2006 team under Rijkaard was also different than both of those teams.
World cup final with Croatia is not an achievement comparable to winning a Euro, World Cup and another Euro back to back.
Using trophies to compare players in a team sport is absolutely ridiculous. Darren Fletcher has a far better trophy cabinet than Gerrard, doesn't make him better.
I understand that.
Do you think OP or anyone else would be comparing Modric to Xavi if he had not won 4-5 CL?
I am using the same argument.
That said, trophies still matter when comparing individuals with similar roles, appearances and importance in the team.
However it should be brought up only if the players quality is comparable. When you compare Lampard to Gerrard, trophies should be a criteria but not with Fletcher.
>When you compare Lampard to Gerrard, trophies should be a criteria but not with Fletcher.
Again, no it shouldn't. You can better a better footballer without playing for the better team. It's not Gerrards fault that he played for a far worse team.
You are again treating it as the only criteria. It's not but they absolutely do matter.
What if Maradona lost the world cup final? Would fans rate him as the goat? I doubt.
Zealandās videos on youtube are really helpful. Start off by managing a big club whose players you know well and delegate things like training to your backroom staff when you first start out. Thereās a learning curve but itās really fun once you know what youāre doing.
There's a learning curve but honestly, the game is designed so you don't really fail. For all its detail in aspects like training, tinkering with tactics to the finest degree, and so on, it's not really necessary to do well.
Biggest thing you'll want to learn is how to effectively scout players, and how to negotiate transfers. Get that sorted, Get any old decent tactic or two (one attacking and one defending will do) and you'll do fine. I put very little effort into a lot of the game (ass man does everything to do with training, press conferences, etc. All I really do are transfers (though you can get a DoF to do it for you if you want), and the match day. And even then I get my ass man to pick the lineup and then I tinker with it).
Fun it is, beginner friendly depends. Start with a big team like Barca and youāll do decently. If youāre having issues building a tactic they have some highly rated ones in the steam workshop, or you could ask the subreddit what youāre doing wrong /r/FootballManagerGames

Could be bs
On the one hand, if the God knows how many hundreds of millions Man Utd have spent since 2016 didn't do shit then the extra £126m isn't exactly gonna fix it.
One the other, it is of course also the Glaziers fault that the club is run so fucking embarrassingly badly
The rights of the wealthy. They didn't even have the money to buy the club, they got a loan to buy us and then mortgaged the club with their debt. Now alongside indebting us they take dividends each year to fill their pockets, while we haggle over 10m euros for de Jong whilst our team is in its worst position in over 30 years.
It's their right though! š
Grimaldo is facing disciplinary action from the club after refusing to play in the last game of the season š
ughhhh.... can we loan him too? maybe? hehehe
Does anyone have news about Balbuena and Yuri Alberto? Corinthians want both and the later seems to be close
Be patient! The transfer window just opened! Preseason is weeks aways! Most clubs haven't done their business! ten Hag just got here! It's a new administration! > only bet on one player like the did with Pogba You mean the summer we got Mkhitaryan, Bailly and Ibra too?
Be patient! I'm sure the club will react to back to back defeats to Brighton and Brentford, the window doesn't close for another 2 weeks.

Yeah it's so strange to see. As if we need to bend over a barrel and get fucked "just because it's not a fair price". WE. DONT. NEED. TO. SELL.
This was Zaha for us. Every single window. So boring but shows who you can ignore easily.
WE LOVE YOU WE LOVE YOU WE LOVE YOU
Itās always the same. They should mad at their board for not paying up, not mad at Ajax
Germans helping the swamp-germans, tears in my eyes.

Wow you are a badass
Ohhh youāre hard
Better than someone complaining about meaningless downvotes

how dare you entering the big number market without being in the top three leagues team. Shame on you. European football is 3-4 leagues the rest dont have a right to success. Financial or trophy wise
yo for my benfica fans out there. What can y'all tell me about Tiago Dantas? He good? what's to be expected of him
Body of a weak 15 year old, but good passing and ball handling.
I mean, the body can be worked upon... if he's good with the ball we can work with it.
This
watched him a few times at Bayern, he's shite and with the body of a 13yo
oh boy.
it feels like a few years ago players used to chip goalkeepers way more often
Players are coached to go for the "most high percentage plays"
Long range goals too it seems.
I'd say it the opposite. Few years ago we've seen a high reduce of bangers. The last couple years is when it came back to being a regularly occurrence, particularly in the Prem.

There's a rumour that Darren Fletcher has told Ten Hag to trial Maguire at DM in the summer due to his ball playing ability, and in response I've just seen someone call him SlabƩlƩlƩ. I don't usually do slander names but that one got me.
Fifa puts Finallissma between Argentina and Italy in the category of Friendly Games. xD

Julian Duranville anyone knows anything about this kid? Bayern allegedly bid ā¬15M for him which is absurd money for a 16 yo
Who do you think will have a better season in Serie A between Lukaku and Pogba?
Lukaku - I see no reason for him to struggle. He's still a good player just wasn't motivated for us or used well by us. Inter are the best attacking team in Serie A and he's an improvement on Correa/Dzeko. I'd back him to get the serie a golden boot next season.
Pogba will have less protection than his last stint at Juve and will be exposed again
Based on past performances id say Lukaku.
Lukaku, i don't think Pogba will suddenly get over his injury issues.
Wirtz, Schick and Nkunku all without release clauses is an impressive job by the boards
No one is interested in Schick and for good reason. Wirtz on the other hand could be worth 100m+ if he comes back as strong as he was before his injury
I donāt rate Schick that highly but can definitely see a West Ham type of team paying 60M+ for him
I think Nkunku has a release clause that'll be valid from next year- lot of people saying it could be ā¬60 million but yeah Fabrizio said it's there
maybe but a Leipzig journalist seems adamant he has no rc
Apparently it's not a written release clause but an agreement.
How players still fall for the "agreement" release clause in 2022 is a mystery
I don't care how much you trust your employer, this is a bad idea.
Leipzig can't risk not following that agreement, as they are dependant on young players wanting to use them as stepping stone. If they force players to stay, then they lose much of their appeal.
Then why wouldnāt they just have a release contract in the contract? If Leipzig had no problem with it?
Pretty much my thoughts. If they want to show that they're okay with this kind of activity then why not put it in writing.
Let me quickly call up his agent and ask him, please wait a sec.
Yeah ait, what did he say?
He said that he didn't want a rc because that would mean that the buying club would have to pay the entire fee up front, which would hinder many clubs from approaching the player, all while he was slurping a Frappucino
Nasser Al-KhelaĆÆfi: >"The dream is one thing, the reality is another. Maybe we should change our slogan... Dream Bigger is good, but today we must be realistic, we no longer want flashy, bling-bling, it is the end of glitter." >"We want players who love the club, who love to fight, who love to win. [...] For next season, the objective is clear: work every day at 200%. Give everything we have for this shirt, give the maximum and we will see the result. We have to be humble again. [...] Whoever wants to stay in their comfort zone, whoever doesn't want to fight, they will stay on the sidelines." >"My goal for the next few years is to have only Parisian players on our team. There is so much talent in our region." How full of shit is he?
Surprise surprise, campos is an old and trusted friend of the Mbappe clan.
I saw some poll over at r/polls aksing who's more famous Ronaldo or Trump and half of them have never heard of Cristianoššš
Reddit skews American, so makes sense.
Ask any american who the most famous Lionel is and all of them will say Richie
Tbh if you said Lionel in an English accent way, I'd also think about Richie first. If you try to mimick a Spanish accent then I think about Messi.
Yh fair point, maybe it's because were into a sport in general and you just hear about other sports through football if that makes sense. I guess there are some people who don't follow any kid of sport.
This Ortega signing has been the first free transfer weāve had since Sagna as far as I can remember, and that was eight years ago š
Scott Carson, mate. Also Frank Lampard.
Good catch, I remember the Lampard transfer was a bit controversial as he was supposed to go to NYCFC and stayed at City for the whole season instead of joining New York at the beginning of the MLS season
In good company then Sagna was an excellent if not underrated pick up.
Sigh take me back to the days when we were constantly mugging Arsenal
What terrible days for City fans nowadays, instead of taking all of our players they only batter us twice a year.
I'm pretty glad we went for him man, cheap option and he'd probably be far more reliable than Steffen is.
Should also give good competition to Ederson as well, he really needs to be pushed harder
Yeah towards the end his shotstopping and distribution just fell off
u/el_rompe_toyotas-19 got himself his 2nd win, and for the second time he got the perfect score - 16/16! You guys are getting better and better, it's getting much harder to surprise you with these questions. But I am still going to try. Especially today, as we celebrate our 25th edition! **Daily Quiz** 24.06. **1.** I have never won a league title, despite playing for teams that won at least one title in 21st century, in each of the current top 5 leagues. Who am I? (*1 point*) **2.** Who is the last African player to start in a CL final, for a team not from England, and win the final? (*2 points*) **3.** When was the last time Men's Olympic Final was played between 2 European teams? (*2 points*) Which teams were featured in it? (*1 point each*) **4.** What do Mario MandżukiÄ, Timo Werner, Paco Alcacer, Patrick Schick, Andre Silva, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nils Petersen have in common, that no other player in history has? (*2 points*) **5.** 4 players appeared at 5 different World Cups. Can you name 2 of them that weren't goalkeepers? (*2 points each*) **6.** What is the last team to win the Champions League final on a stadium in their country? (*2 points*) How about last team to even feature in a final in their country? (*1 point*) *For both questions I need the team and the year as well* 16 points to get. Remember, those who fail to use spoiler tags correctly are doomed to be eternal laughing stocks by the rest of r/soccer and those who cheat by googling and/or checking others answers will eventually get a nasty diarrhea that won't go away for weeks. Good luck! !PING TRIVIA
Bit late, but oh well: >!1 Aubameyang!< >!2 Eto'o 2010!< >!3 2008, Spain v Portugal!< >!4 2nd in top goalscorer race in the Bundesliga behind Lewandowski!< >!5 Rafael Marquez and Hugo Sanchez!< >!6 Real Madrid 2000, last team to feature in a final is Bayern in 2012 (unless you count Liverpool in Cardiff in 2018)!<
>!Damn, it is late. Q3 and Real in Q6 are wrong, but Spain in Q3 is correct, so 11/16!<
Etienne, donāt know who he played for in Serie A but I think itās him!< 2. >!Etoāo!< 3. >!No idea, random guess, 1988?!< 4. >!Top Bundesliga goalscorers? Other than Lewa!< 5. >!Rafa Marquez and Lothar Matthaus!< 6. >!Dortmund won against Juventus in 1997, Bayern lost against Chelsea in 2012!<
>!Q1, Q2, Q5 and Q6 correct. Q3 wrong. Q4 I'm conflicted. Those are 2nd top scorers in seasons Lewy was the top scorer. I guess I cannot give you this, so 10/16!<
1. >!Liverpool legend Christian Poulsen?!< 2. >!Samuel Eto'o for Inter, I can't remember anyone else after that. I don't think Real had any African starter in their fiinals, and I think that Benatia joined Bayern after their UCL win!< 3. >!1992? Total guess for the teams, Spain and France!< 4. >!This one's driving me crazy, because I'm thinking of a bunch of things that kind of fit but I can't think which one's the best. I was thinking something of scoring lots of goals while not at Bayern maybe, but Mandzukic being there and the lack of Grafite/Dzeko.. maybe outscoring Lewandowski, home or away, or at a single round. i'll go for a weird one, scoring more goals in one Bundesliga round than Lewandowski, since the later plays in Bayern***!< 5. >!Matthaus is one. For the other I'll guess Tim Cahill, I can't remember if he played in 2018 tho. (Fun fact: Mexican gk Campos played in 5 WCs, and he was used as strike sometimes- so technically he could count!)!< 6.
[ŃŠ“алено]
>!Q1 correct, Q2 as well. Q3 wrong, Q6 Bayern is correct, Porto wrong. 4/16!< Also your spoiler tags are all over the place, none of them work
I suck so bad, but thanks for doing! Really fun brain teasers. Edit: was doing it from my phone, so It messed it up, deleted the comment to avoid spoiling the quiz
>!1. Aubamayang (spelling is atrocious, not a spelling test though)!< >!2. Eto'o in 2010.!< >!3. Don't pay attention to Olympic football. Guessing 2004, Spain and Netherlands!< >!4. Top scoring player in the Bundesliga that isn't Lewandowski since 2010.!< >!5. Matthaus I know, Other I think is Marquez from Mexico.!< >!6.
I think it's your best score for a while, ain't it?!<
1. >!Not the foggiest!< 2. >!Eto'o?!< 3. >!Oh bloody hell, no idea. Think Belgium randomly won it!< 4. >!Runner up to Lewandowski in Bundesliga Golden Boot race !< 5. >!Marquez... Formiga ;)!< 6. >!Real Madrid, Bayern Munich!<
>!Q2 correct, Q3 wrong, Q4 correct, Q5 Marquez is correct. One of the teams in Q6 is correct, but I need the years too, so 6/16 for now, but you can still precise Q6!<
1998 and 2012?
>!Although Madrid won in 1998, it wasn't in their stadium, so that's incorrect. Dortmund 1997 was good. Bayern 2012 is correct, so it's up by one point, 7/16!<
>!1. Auba!< >!2. Must be Eto'o!< >!3. I'm guessing 92 and Spain, remember that while reading Luis Enrique and Pep wiki's pages, another one, IDK, Poland?!< >!4. Behind Lewandowski in league goals?!< >!5. MatthƤus and MƔrquez!< >!6.
Lol!< The quiz is really getting better tho.
Oh wow, it's actually our loss to Spain.!< I never thought of that but you might be right.
>!Thing is, often when the answer is Poland related, I just pick it intentionally, but this time it was accident haha. oh jesus that looks hard - 1 = >!I am absolutely going to have to throw out a wild guess here, because I have no real lead to go on. Can't even think of anyone that's played in all 5 leagues off the top of my head. Maybe someone like KPB who it seems like has played for everyone?!< - 2 = >!I think Eto'o started the 09/10 final. Can't think of any African players in the 5 Real Madrid teams, and you've already ruled out the 2 Chelsea and 1 Liverpool titles, so that leaves only 4 other seasons between now and 2010. I think I might stick with Eto'o 09/10 as the answer here!< - 3 = >!I have to say that Olympics football is not generally something I pay attention to. I believe Argentina won in 2008 and Brazil in 2012 though, because I think both Messi and Neymar have won it before, so let's rule out them. I don't think you'd drop a 2021 answer on us either, so with that in mind I'll guess at 2004, and guess it was Spain v Serbia and Czech Republic on the logic both had good youth prospects at the time!< - 4 = >!Pfft, no idea. Are they the only players to score from their own half in an international tournament? That's literally just pulling on the Schick thread and hoping everyone else matches!< - 5 = >!I don't know any for men. But I notice you didn't specify men for this question where you did for the Olympics, so I can loophole this with two women that I know would be correct. The first two people to score at 5 World Cups - Marta and Christine Sinclair!< - 6 = >!In 11/12 Bayern lost the final in their own backyard so they're surely the last to feature. To win I suspect you have to traipse back a long way, maybe one of the early 00s tournaments. Let's guess at 99/00 Madrid!< Really tough today
Bayern correct in Q6, Real Madrid wrong, so overall it's 7/16!< And yeah that is hard, I have to uo the level cause some people kept scoring 100% hahah
>!1) Aubameyang!< >!2) I'll go with Eto'o!< >!3) 2008!< >!4) As always, I suck at this!< >!5) Hmm, I'll go with Pele ant Lothar Matheus (spelling)!< >!6) The last team to feature and lose - FC Bayern at their stadium. Lost vs Chelsea in 2012!< >!The last team to win it in their own country - no clue, maybe BVB in 1997!<
>!Q1 and Q2 correct, Q3 wrong. Matthaus is correct, but Pele had "only" 4 World Cups. Q6 entirely correct, so... It's 8/16, 50% finally!!<
Maybe I shouldn't rush my answer and think better.!< >!This one time the question was about foreign captains winning the CL.
1. >!Christian Poulsen?!< 2. >!Eto'o with Inter probably!< 3. 4. >!Probably top scorers excluding Lewandoski/Bayern?!< 5. >!Rafa Marquez and Lothar Mathaus!< 6. >!BVB 97 and Bayern 12!<
>!Q1 wrong, Q2 correct. Top scorers excluding Bayern would generate tens of players in history, also MandżukiÄ achieved it at Bayern. Top scorers behind Lewandowski is the way to go. Q5 and Q6 correct as well, so 11/16!<
No idea for the first one >!Etoo for Inter!< >!1992, in the Barcelona olympics, Spain beat Poland!< >!They have been 2nd in the Bundesliga topscorer race behind Robert Lewandowski!< >!Rafa Marquez and Matthaus!< >!Dortmund won it in Munich in 1997, last ream to play in their own country was United in 2011!<
>!All correct except United - Bayern did it a year later, they lost to Chelsea at their own stadium. 14/16!!<
1. >!Aubameyang?!< 2. >!Is it Samuel Eto'o for Inter in 2010? I can't think of any other African players to have won it for a non-English team!< 3. >!I know Spain won at the 1992 Olympics, so I'll go with 1992, Spain vs France!< 4. >!they all missed penalties in the German Cup final!< 5. >!Lothar Matthaus and Rafael Marquez!< 6.
1 >!Pepe Reina? Has surely played in three of the five leagues.!< 2 >!Barcelona Seydou Keita (was between him and Yaya TourƩ)!< 3 >!2004, Italy - Spain complete guess!< 4 >!Players that have been top scorers for their clubs in the Bundesliga and top scorers for their country in the same season?!< 5 >!Klose, Cafu?!< 6 >!You had a similar question not long ago. To win it was Dortmund 1997. To play in the final was Bayern 2012!<
>!Even 4. But Villarreal never won a title and Reina didn't play in France. Q2 wrong, Inter 2010 had Eto'o. Q3 wrong, Q4 close, but still wrong, Q5 wrong as well. I don't recall having similiar question, but after 25 editions it is possible I'm forgetting things, but Q6 is correct, so 3/16!<
1. >!Aubameyang - May his streak continue :)!< 2. >!Inter with Eto'o. Dont think Madrid/Barca/Bayern had any.!< 3. >!1992 - spain v Poland. (Please no women football. That would be last to last so 2016)!< 4. >!Finishing 2nd to Lewandowski in Bundesliga top scorer list!< 5. >!Rafa Marquez, Lothar Mathaus!< 6.
Finally :) > What do I do to surprise yall anymore? Your quizzes are getting tougher, takes more time to get to the answer. Surely there would be days when we wont get those.
From one perfect scorer to another, congrats man!
You have been really blowing us out of the water mate. Congrats on double perfect scores :)
>!I am thinking the same thing every day, but still for the 4th day in a row someone goes max. That's why quizzes are getting harder, I am trying to create the situation, when anyone can actually beat a winner, again. Gonna keep trying!<
I suck at this, but I'll try to answer three of these. >!1) Aubameyang?!< >!2) Eto'o in 2009-10?!< >!5) Lothar Matthaus and Rafa Marquez?!<
>!All correct. You sure you're not wanna give the rest a shot? 7/16!<
1. >!Aubameyang!< 2. >!Eto'o!< 3. >!No clue. 2000?!< 4. >!Finished runner-up to Lewandowski (Bundesliga top scorer)?!< 5. >!Rafael Marquez (Mexico), Lothar Matthaus (Germany).!< 6. >!Dortmund (1997), Bayern Munich (2012).!<
>!Former champion coming quick with the answer and it is a good one. All correct except Q3, so 12/16 and the new leader by a mile!!<
1.>!Auba!< 2.>!Yaya Toure!< 3.>!I'll guess 2000 France v Czech Republic!< 4.>!They have all been nutmegged by Glenn Whelan!< 5.>!I'll guess Cafu, Klose !< 6.>!Bayern losing to Chelsea, and I'll guess Real Madrid won it in Spain!<

I donāt know many people if any that say heās better
Xavi has 17 seasons in the top 5 leagues. Modric has 14.
Exactly. Xavi has 17 seasons on top level. Even if we count Modric's Dinamo Zagreb days, how can so someone even try to use longevity against Xavi.
Modric was in the Euros team of the tournament before he moved from Dinamo Zagreb, he' could've easily been playing in the top 5 leagues
Younger fans probably. Many of us here were born when Xavi won his first league title
At their peaks? Absolutely not Based on league campaigns & cups? Hilarious. Based on non domestic competitions? '08 Euro, '09 CL, '10 World Cup, '11 CL and '12 Euro beats Modric's 3 CL in a row Based on longevity? Xavi's first league title was in 98/99 and left Europe with a treble in 2015. Luka Modric has 0 titles in the top 5 leagues until he was 29-30
Are you seriously trying to argue the 98/99 title for Xavi? Is anyone actually saying he's world class until 2008? I've watched Modric since 2004, he's been world class under every single manager A World Cup final with Croatia is an achievement that arguably rivals those Spain ones, especially when looking at the teams.
You were watching Modric on loan at ZapreÅ”iÄ?
> I've watched Modric since 2004, he's been world class under every single manager If Modric was world class since 2004 it is absolutely delusional to say Xavi was only world class from 2008 onwards.
I doubt.
Alot the older generation would, yes.
Supporting a league is embarrassing behaviour.
So can all average players over the past 6 years make a documentary now or is it just Pogba?
If you've got the money, go for it
You can either make a documentary about yourself if you so choose
Will you watch it please
Yeah? Everyone can
Bro this isn't communist Canada, anyone can make a documentary about themselves.
Peter Drury leaving PL broadcasting is just saddening. What a fucking sad day for football, there's really no one like him hope he's back soon
WAYNE ROONEY OUT OF THIS WORLD
Don't like him. Very irritating commentary style
Heās replacing arlo white at nbc. Where is arlo going to?
To the Saudi golf tournament thing lol
Read that at first as Drury going to the Saudis, glad he hasn't sold out
I suppose Jim Proudfoot will be the main one for most big games. I wonder who else will take up more of the big games.
[ŃŠ“алено]
I would guess he is around average?
He seems pretty switched on whenever I hear him in interviews.
Im not sure but he gives me the impression that he is rather smart than dumb (rape accusations aside)
I'm so out the loop, as far as I knew Barcelona were an unstoppable force... Now they seem to be struggling and have no money... What happened?
They became stoppable.
Bartomeu happened
They paid their players way too much, and at the end it ended up backfiring.
Barto happened.
Just downloaded FM 2021, I hope its beginner friendly and fun to play
Zealandās videos on youtube are really helpful. Start off by managing a big club whose players you know well and delegate things like training to your backroom staff when you first start out. Thereās a learning curve but itās really fun once you know what youāre doing.
Ill start by managing Barca then, Ill check out his videos thanks
If youāre having issues building a tactic they have some highly rated ones in the steam workshop, or you could ask the subreddit what youāre doing wrong /r/FootballManagerGames
thanks for info
Why not the 2022? It's fun to play, not sure about beginner friendly
I bought FM 2021 way back and didnt get time to play it, it was in my library so I decided I would try that instead
United fans, rate Pogba's overall career on a scale of 1 to 10.
A 6 probably. He did win us a trophy
4 at best.
Iāll give him 6/9.
That's equal to 6.66 in the 1 to 10 scale.

Away one reminds me of the Ecuador badge.
Nah Cercle Brugge can't be serious with that crest. Deserve automatic relegation from the Belgian football pyramid imo.
The glazers are taking out another £11M from Manchester United today. That's £125M since 2016.
On the one hand, if the God knows how many hundreds of millions Man Utd have spent since 2016 didn't do shit then the extra £126m isn't exactly gonna fix it. One the other, it is of course also the Glaziers fault that the club is run so fucking embarrassingly badly
I mean, it's their company, and they have a right to the profits of the company.
It's their right though! š
Yeah well that's the owner gamble, innit. It's still their right.
Personally I think they deserve it, should get a raise after this year what a season u man had
