Lol, I'm laughing so hard right now. We are the Germans now!
Are we the baddies?

Only in Pennsylvania
Don't worry. Still like 2 minutes to go :)
Equalising in the 92nd minute against Holland.... pls not again
Narrator: it happened again
Well played though, it was a real battle
Well, that aged badly
And we did it again!!!! LOOOLLL
what a load of fucking shit, unbelievable this doesnt get overturned.
Edit: Memphis the GOAT
Its all good lol
Aaaand 3-2 lol
That ref is a shame for the sport, karma got served right away!
Lmao joke of a referee, okay.
Joke of a VAR, ref can see things wrong and it's on the VAR to correct them.
Not quite actually, VAR is just terribly implemented in general. VAR only intervenes when the ref blatantly misses something or makes a 100% wrong observation, here the ref saw that Malacia hit the Welsh player (which was correct) and judged that it was a pen. Nothing VAR can do if the ref tells him that
There is VAR, right?
There is but VAR are fucking useless because they never look at what the correct decision is, they only look at whether the ref was 100% wrong or not so they're looking for any justification for the refs decision they can find. It's the worst possible implementation of a video referee imaginable.
Angle from behind the goal you can clearly see he comes through the back of his head. Looks horrible. Definite pen.
Two heads colliding why trying to head a ball isn't usually a could though. It's just an unfortunate collision.
It’s not two heads colliding, it’s one player winning the ball and the other player full on clattering him in the back of the head afterwards. This is 100% a penalty and I’ve got no idea why anyone is saying otherwise.
idk either, my first instinct was not a pen, but what Malacia is doing is super dangerous and should be punished. Accidental clashes happen. Malacia had full view and knew he was late.
Only thing I find a bit weird is that it didn't impact play and Bale still got a huge chance. You could make a case for advantage having been played.
how is this a pen lol
Show me the foul? I was in the stadium none of us Welsh fans could figure out why it was a pen
You think you can just shoulder tackle someone's head without getting any of the ball? You need to switch sports.
Lmfaoooooooooo don't count the Dutch out
What a joke of a ref. But it doesn't matter.
We conceded before this even appeared here :(
Never a fucking pen. If we're giving these there'd be about 6 pens a game
Ref, are you taking the fucking piss?
We got this
ah shit nvm
Shit decision by the ref and the VAR is too cowardly to correct the ref because it's not clearly 100% wrong. So fucking dumb.
At least it's 3-2 now...
What are you watching? He doesn't win the header then elbows him in the back of the head, happens in midfield often and a free kick is given. Shouldn't be any different when it happens in the box
The welsh dude was moving towards Malacia, Malacia was just standing there
Absolute bollocks. He wins the header and Malacia jumps into him. He's going for the ball, but that doesn't matter. He's late and it's a foul.
If it's a foul anywhere else on the pitch lol I don't get the argument against it
Neither do I, apparently an elbow to the head is fine according to the Dutch. Bloke wasn't anywhere near winning the ball either
NO I DONT THINK SO
Wales will be above England in the World Cup
Not if they get in a proper manager. Well even then maybe. But still
How is it not a pen? He clatters (+late) into the back of him.
This referee should go back to refereeing in the Sunday league
100% penalty, don't know why people say it isn't. Malacia jumps into the back of Roberts' head with his shoulder and misses the ball completely, how is that not a foul?
If you're giving out penalties for fouls like these then the Netherlands should've received at least 2+ penalties already this game. Utter joke of a ref and VAR
A player runs into the back of the head of another player with his shoulder while completely missing the ball. Foul and since it's in the box, a penalty.
Thing is, if this is a penalty, there's going to be 6 to 10 penalties a game. He went down theactrically which sold it to the ref, but these duels and challenges happen about 10 times a game on average i would say. Is this what we want to see every game?
This wasn't a duel. A duel is when 2 players next to eachother run/jump towards the ball (usually facing eachother). In this case it's a player coming from behind and bumping into the head of the player who actually has the ball.
And I repeat, how many of these are there in an average match, even just from FK's and corners, never mind from crosses in open play.
Both players went for the same ball, both can't get the ball. These things happen in football.
But let's just agree to disagree.
This is one where if your teans gets it you're happy and if it's given against you you're salty as fuck imo.
"And I repeat, how many of these are there in an average match, even just from FK's and corners, never mind from crosses in open play."
Well it depends whether they are really similar (many challenges in football are not similar to others). If they are, then referees should simply give those fouls more often. It's not like it's crazy to think so, we see things like this were the referee doesn't blow his whistle posted almost every day on the internet.
"Both players went for the same ball, both can't get the ball. These things happen in football."
True and normally in football, the player that is too late and doesn't get the ball will then be the one making a foul on the opponent, especially if there is contact involved. Both players go for a header, one actually gets the ball and heads it, the other jumps into the head of the player who headed the ball, after that player has already headed the ball. This means that this player was too late with his challenge and therefore has made a foul.
"This is one where if your teans gets it you're happy and if it's given against you you're salty as fuck imo."
Well my team is the Netherlands. I am Dutch and I still think it's a penalty.
The Welsh dude is diving backwards wtf is he supposed to do? It's not like it interfered with play. Just a duel.
The Welsh dude stops to head the ball, while Malacia comes running from the left hand side to try and win the ball, misses it and therefore bumps his shoulder into the back of the head. It's not "just a duel" and "interfering with play" is not a criteria for a foul.
It is when there is a penalty to be given or not. You don't get to waste your opportunity and then still get a penalty after you miss it.
Malacia is behind him all the time he's not coming in from the left.
"It is when there is a penalty to be given or not. You don't get to waste your opportunity and then still get a penalty after you miss it."
Advantage is a law that applies at all times. Penalty isn't excluded. The "chance" Bale had was a very difficult one and not necessarily bigger than the chance from the penalty spot. Since there was no advantage for Wales, the referee goes back for the penalty. He can do it outside the box and inside the box as well.
"Malacia is behind him all the time he's not coming in from the left."
From the left side of the pitch is what I mean, so yes indeed he comes from behind the player. He is the one running towards the ball/into him as he saw danger and he is the one that therefore is too late for the ball and bumps into the back of the head with his shoulder.
It seems to just be Dutch ~~threads~~ comments. I don't know if I'm just as biased the other way or if I've had a stroke.
I'm Dutch as well, I don't understand some of them either. They probably just follow what the commentator says, who called this a "duel" and a "collision".
A collision in a duel is if both players run into eachother. However in this case it's Malacia who runs into Roberts to try to win the ball, but completely misses it and therefore has his shoulder hitting the back of Roberts' head.
It's a classic "if that happened anywhere else on the pitch it'd be a foul."
Yeah I’m seeing loads of them too but to me this is such a clear foul I’m amazed anyone’s arguing against it.
LOOOOOL WE JUST CAMT NOT EWIN AGAISNT WALES
edit: such a bs penalty tho
Probeer je iets te zeggen?
Viva Gareth Bale get in lad
One of the worst decisions you will ever see.
Yes Gareth you beautiful bastard
Ref is completely incapable once again. VAR embarrassing once again as well.
Congratulations to Wales, would beat us easily at the moment

He did the golf celebration, didn't he?
