In comparison of all Sevilla FC EL finals stadium capacity
🏟 St. Jakob Park: 38.000
🏟Philips Stadium: 35.000
🏟Juventus Stadium: 41.000
🏟Colonia:50.000
🏟Hampden Park: 51.000
🏟Estadio Nacional de Varsovia:58.000
🏟Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán:43.000
What do people expect a 80k stadium for the UEL final? Even the UCL has a 75k stadium. You are never going to fit 190k fans into the stadium no matter what
Even without the disgraceful UEFA ticket distribution you would be looking at 35k for each team in a big one
Small Club =/= small fanbase. Have you seen the masses of fans following Frankfurt and Rangers to away games? Remember how little Barca fans came to their home game vs Frankfurt?
The Ramon Sanchez isn't necessarily small, the real crime is the supporters of both clubs getting less than a 1/4 of the stadium capacity.
The vast, vast majority of those in attendance should be Rangers and Frankfurt fans imo.
even if all of it went to the clubs, 44k is not very much for a european final
both rangers and eintracht's home stadiums both have more capacity than this
No disrespect, but Albania is so not connected to European competition. Maybe there's some plan behind it but I don't want to give UEFA too much credit.
Same like the euros in Baku. Can't say it was that pleasant for fans to travel across Europe.
not sure what you mean by "not connected"? The country is IN europe
they're not a major force in international competition of course but the country also only has 2M inhabitants
I know it's in Europe bro. I mean it's probably good for the fans to see the best out of best European countries. I wasn't a fan of the idea that teams have to travel all around Europe for the games.
And yes, the " not connected" was cuz lack of international football.
Tf u talking about? I never said it's a shit hole lol
What's up with you bitches haha stadium with 20.000 capacity is not a deserved place for an ECL final. Don't put words in my mouth I never said gtfo
Albania is next to Italy and Greece... so idk wtf u talking about. Its literally 1.5 hours away from Holland and 50min from Italy by plane.
You could at least bother to google the location...
Lol I know where Albania is. I just said it isn't the best place to hold a European final. Have u looked up the capacity the stadium has? Would have been better to play the final in a more prestige stadium.
Edit: I haven't said anything about Tirana being far away, either...
" isn't connected to European competition". That's exactly what I wrote.
The ECL final and Euros 21 being played outside of Europe would have been strange. People are quick to judge, but reading isn't that hard haha
In fairness to UEFA, prior finals did average somewhere around that mark over the the past 10 years.
This is an unusual year where you have two really well supported clubs who would fucking love to win the trophy are in the final without any of the clubs that see it as just a consolation prize for the CL.
I'm glad someone has came out and said it. It's an embarrassment of a situation that's all because UEFA expected very few traveling fans from the big teams. It's a disgrace that each club only gets 9k tickets for a European final.
But does they do that. Means they reserve some stadium for UCL only right.
I personally don't mind, would have attended the game as both team are really good. Though I am not sure our board will approve.
They were commentating this in the Spanish broadcast and the commentators were so confused.
One literally said, “he said it’s Mickey Mouse because the stadium is too small. Like a mouse.”
Started laughing but don’t blame them because it doesn’t really translate well.
Frankfurt's president is quite the character and people love him for it. He's the personification of the "larger than life" stereotype of a lot of former and current Bundesliga presidents.
He's also a legend for giving the German nazi party tons of shit.
fischer, as always, is very blunt and without filter here, but i still think he's right. the stadium is really small for a major final and then only such a small portion of the tickets went to the clubs.
especially confusing as sevilla seems to have bigger stadiums than this
The whole point of these finals is to give smaller stadiums and cities the ability to host such events! If not we should host all big games in NK Rungrado and be done with it.
Its smaller than the cities where bigger venues, that can host much more of the traveling fans, can be found. I get the fact fans would love to be inside the stadium but this is no reason for some random nobody to offend a whole stadium, and the ppl to whom it belongs because if it.
Stinks like populistic BS in orde to garner some more support from his fanbase. The venue is what it is. And ppl have known about it for a long time. I would get these reactions had Frankfurt learned just yesterday of all this all while tens of thousands of their fans have already travelled But it is not so.
All i perceive to be happening here is that some ppl have found a good excuse to behave in a certain way, and to air their inner thoughts. Says a lot about the man really.
> no reason for some random nobody to offend a whole stadium
Yeah, about that: it says in the tweet who he is, and 'random nobody' doesn't quite fit the bill here.
"random nobody"
yeah okay
> Its smaller than the cities where bigger venues, that can host much more of the traveling fans
okay but since sevilla has bigger stadiums already it clearly ISNT smaller than that
>yeah okay
I mean I had never heard of the guy till about a month ago. I am willing to bet 3/4 of this planet still do not know who he is. So I think he, as all of us, enters the category.
>okay but since sevilla has bigger stadiums already it clearly ISNT smaller than that
Agreed but that is not Sevillas fault. It is not them that decided this. So why offend their stadium. If anything why not be so vocal against UEFA ? Bit of a hypocritical stance if you ask me.
I respectfully disagree, the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan is a legendary stadium imo. Seriously now, 190k fans are never fitting anywhere regardless. They could have gone for a bigger one but I cant say this is that bad, they probably want the bigger ones for the CL even though at that point you have earned your right to play on a huge stadium. The really annoying part is the ticket allocation, seems like the Scots and Germans found a way around that though...
He could have complained about UEFA, logistics etc without being a dick versus a great stadium with plenty of history. I understand he's on a roll lately but he should cut a bit his bath salts.
You can make your point without being disrespectful to such a wonderful stadium. The team which plays in this Mickey mouse stadium had recently made this competition a Mickey mouse Cup. The owner needs to be less cocky and more respectful, their own stadium has similar capacity.
>The owner
Who owns that stadium and why are they disrespctful?
>their own stadium has similar capacity.
It's got about 10.000 more capacity. Or 20%. Or the amount of tickets both Frankfurt and rangers. Get. Aka they could get 50% more fans in in their own stadium.
> 45.500 to 51.500 on Wikipedia u fukin donut.
You can check the official capacity of stadiums on uefas and fifas homepage, its 40 941 for Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and 48 500 for Deutsche Bank Arena.
Idk where you got those above numbers from, but they are obviously wrong.
He is right tho. There are atleast 150k fans in the city right now and only 20k of them had a chance to buy a ticket and its only a 40k capacity stadium. Its a final between two clubs with a massive fanbase and it should have been played in a bigger stadium.
If u would watch his interviews you would see he's just dedicated to Eintracht. No bad words from him against opponents. And for 100.000 rangers fans and 50.000 Eintracht fans, it's really a mickey mouse stadium. To top that, rangers and Eintracht fans are given 10.000 tickets each in a stadium with a capacity of 44.000. Overall he's right.
Sanchez-Pizjuan has seen more history than the entire club of Eintracht will see in a long time.
See, this is how easy it is to be correct, and still be a dumbass/jackass. It wouldn’t hurt him to make his point without being petulant child.
"Mickey Mouse" used as a football term for something that's a bit of a joke has been around for as long as I can remember. If it's come up in the NBA recently, it might have gotten it from European football.
Cartuja hosted the Copa Del Rey final and while the football was great, the atmosphere was dogshit. If you want to play in a stadium where the fans are a mile away from the action go ahead.
The Benito Villamarin maybe a better choice for this final but you arent gonna convince me that Cartuja would have been better than the Sanchez Pizjuan

Not great, not terrible.

True, could also have been two boring ass teams with no fans, how would you fill the stadium then?
I mean, looking at past Europa league finals, this year's is about as "small clubs" as it gets
Small Club =/= small fanbase. Have you seen the masses of fans following Frankfurt and Rangers to away games? Remember how little Barca fans came to their home game vs Frankfurt?
I have a feeling they'd come to the final though.
Don't say that to this Eintracht president. The biggest clubs in terms of success don't always bring the most fans.
Come on did you see the away fans both team had? They would have definitely sold out a bigger stadium.
Koln was with covid and limited spectators, so that one could've been anywhere else.
I always forget how small Juventus Stadium is.
First time I’ve ever heard the Polish Narodowy been called Estadio Nacional de Varsovia lol
>Estadio Nacional de Varsovia Damn, everything sounds better in Spanish
The fact is that we have so many big stadiums in Europe and we don't use them for European finals
The Ramon Sanchez isn't necessarily small, the real crime is the supporters of both clubs getting less than a 1/4 of the stadium capacity. The vast, vast majority of those in attendance should be Rangers and Frankfurt fans imo.
even if all of it went to the clubs, 44k is not very much for a european final both rangers and eintracht's home stadiums both have more capacity than this
ECL final in Tirana *cough*
yes, that is terrible too
No disrespect, but Albania is so not connected to European competition. Maybe there's some plan behind it but I don't want to give UEFA too much credit. Same like the euros in Baku. Can't say it was that pleasant for fans to travel across Europe.
> no disrespect > proceeds to disrespect
Fair
not sure what you mean by "not connected"? The country is IN europe they're not a major force in international competition of course but the country also only has 2M inhabitants
hey unless it's in Germany or England, it's not really Europe right? lmao at some of the people here!
I know it's in Europe bro. I mean it's probably good for the fans to see the best out of best European countries. I wasn't a fan of the idea that teams have to travel all around Europe for the games. And yes, the " not connected" was cuz lack of international football.
Ah so “it’s in Europe but it’s a shithole we should host in nicer places” is your way of meaning no disrespect then?
Tf u talking about? I never said it's a shit hole lol What's up with you bitches haha stadium with 20.000 capacity is not a deserved place for an ECL final. Don't put words in my mouth I never said gtfo

“Isn’t connected” & “same as Baku” Simple to see where the miscommunication arose from.
" isn't connected to European competition". That's exactly what I wrote. The ECL final and Euros 21 being played outside of Europe would have been strange. People are quick to judge, but reading isn't that hard haha
The Final is there ONLY for the sport... Entirely NOT of the money....
At least Tirana is dead in the middle of the continent. Big events like those could do a world of good for Albania's international image.
In fairness to UEFA, prior finals did average somewhere around that mark over the the past 10 years. This is an unusual year where you have two really well supported clubs who would fucking love to win the trophy are in the final without any of the clubs that see it as just a consolation prize for the CL.
Remember Liverpool v Sevilla in Basel’s Stadium of 38k? They treat the Europa League like its a joke
There were like 70% Liverpool supporters in there though.
I'm glad someone has came out and said it. It's an embarrassment of a situation that's all because UEFA expected very few traveling fans from the big teams. It's a disgrace that each club only gets 9k tickets for a European final.
I read that as well today. What happens to the other 20.000+ seats???
they go to UEFA's "corporate partners"
Tss.. Thank God it's rangers and Eintracht, so it's still gonna feel like 60.000 lol
Uefa: but what about our sponsors?
Looking at the stands there's no way there's only 9k fans from each club. Were they all bought second hand?
There is a number of tickets that go on general sale, the mixed section in the middle, so there is more than that in the stadium.
UEFA doing everything in their power to diminish this comp with these types of decisions. Ridiculous.
It's weird they chose the Sanchez-Pizjuan because it's the 3rd largest stadium in Sevilla
I mean I know about the Betis one but there's a even bigger one!???
Estadio de la Cartuja. ~~Was built for the Olympics in 2004 but Sevilla lost the bid~~. Both are around 60k
[удалено]
My bad, I read from 2 different sources which were wrong.
They build it without having the Olympics save? That is a...bold move....
Paid out brilliantly too. It was expensive and barely used
It's a terrible stadium where football should never be played.
Yeah isn’t that the one they used for Euro 2020? It fucking sucks
They played WC qualifiers there too. It's terrible. Every stand is very far away from the pitch.
They could have held this game in the Camp Nou and it wouldn't have been big enough.
Fuck what a sight that would be.
But does they do that. Means they reserve some stadium for UCL only right. I personally don't mind, would have attended the game as both team are really good. Though I am not sure our board will approve.
The board would be stupid.
I mean, it's our board. Stupid has been the operative word for at least 7 years
Fair enough
They were commentating this in the Spanish broadcast and the commentators were so confused. One literally said, “he said it’s Mickey Mouse because the stadium is too small. Like a mouse.” Started laughing but don’t blame them because it doesn’t really translate well.
Betis fans like this Shocked they did not pick that stadium tbh
Sounds like an average twitter user
Most Bundesliga presidents are basically just shitposters with money.
Any bundesliga club looking for a president I’m right here, except I have no money 👀👀
Uli Hoeneß is kinda free so...
Frankfurt's president is quite the character and people love him for it. He's the personification of the "larger than life" stereotype of a lot of former and current Bundesliga presidents. He's also a legend for giving the German nazi party tons of shit.

this makes no sense because sevilla is not a small city but even within the city its only the third biggest football stadium
Its smaller than the cities where bigger venues, that can host much more of the traveling fans, can be found. The point of EL is to give cities that would never host a CL final the opportunity to host an European final.
>but even within the city its only the third biggest football stadium
And? La Cartuja is bigger but it is the worst of all to watch football.
I respectfully disagree, the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan is a legendary stadium imo. Seriously now, 190k fans are never fitting anywhere regardless. He meant the President, German clubs have no owner
I'm aware, that was was banter.
> could get 50% more fans Bold of you to assume UEFA allocates all extra seats to fans and not sponsors.

Does he realise no stadium in Europe could take 190,000 of them
Win a real ring Fischer smh
he just ratioed them 😹
It was supposed to be in Budapest but the pandemic shifted things around
Lmao that guy is hilarious Edit: I like him u dumb asses

not an owner
I think we found Declan Rice

Alternatively, Red Bull and other non-Frankfurt/Rangers team meet in the finals, and suddenly the bigger stadium is too big.
The only team that wouldnt ba able to fill it is Leipzig.
He's a great person actually

lmao he is their president not their owner. and i can understand him, the stadium is small for an European final.
I mean, Fischer gotta be a member, surely? That'd technically make him an owner. And technically correct is the best kind of correct ;)
A good and honest knobhead more like
No need to disrespect the stadium, the Sanchez Pijuan is a good stadium, go blame UEFA.
A Twitter insult used to discredit a quarantined NBA championship now used by a football executive. What a time to be alive
"Mickey Mouse" used as a football term for something that's a bit of a joke has been around for as long as I can remember. If it's come up in the NBA recently, it might have gotten it from European football.
"mickey mouse" has been used as a pejorative for nearly 100 years
im pretty sure "mickey mouse" as a way to ridicule a team/competition/stadium goes back farther than the quarantined NBA
What a classy man ! Imagine being hosted and insulting your hosts like so. All this while your club is part of the Bayernliga cooperative .
But when major European games are held at Wembley, r/soccer throws a hissy fit. Ya can’t win.
Where does he wants the Final to be played, Indianapolis?
even within the same city of sevilla there are literally bigger stadiums

La Cartuja sucks for football.
The Betis stadium is bigger ffs
Maracana
These German presidents sure like to run their mouths I don’t know why such irrelevant clubs make so much noise as the German ones
ah yes, a club that is in the EL final is "irrelevant"?
ignore him, german football lives rent free in his skull
I Appreciate how constant he is lol
