\- Transfer period is approaching -> Koundé to Chelsea rumours start
Fill in the blank exercise:
Transfer period is approaching -> XXXX to YYYY FC rumors start.
Sneijder to Manchester United 2022 summer?
Looking forward to see how he fits in this team, quality player and someone that Tuchel has really wanted it seems.
I assume he'd fit in somewhere ahead of Mendy and behind Kovacic
big if true
What if it’s too tight and it needs stretching
Phone a friend
Big mistake. He failed the Antonio test in the europa league
He seems to fail tests every time he's up against a tough opponent.
What a load
This was my worry as well. He’ll either be a big money flop who fans continue to defend for years or he’ll be a smashing success.
Played very well against Barca when i saw him
Barca isn't a tough opponent
He said tough opponents. ;)
When he received an absolutely idiotic red card?
That was total shithousery from Jordi Alba
Yeah but Kounde is still an idiot for reacting the way he did.
yep. we're replacing the mentally weakest top CB (christensen) with the 2nd weakest
Sounds like an upgrade to me
Would be a good signing to replace an aging Azpilicueta, right cb in a back 3 is the perfect position for him. That being said 59m pounds seems a bit steep.
£59m is not steep at all in the current market. He’s one of the best young and relatively available CBs if you’ve been watching La Liga. Him and Pau Torres.
Is Pau Torres really good? I saw a few games from him (especially the ones against us) and he was very meh - he seemed like he’d be a prime Maguire moment - decent/good for a mid table side that sits deep (which Villarreal did in the CL a lot) and pretty good on the ball but just gets exposed in any sort of high line.
I may have missed something though but I would be wary of Torres
He’s fairly solid yeah, not so much gonna marshal the backline but still a very good CB.
To be fair playing against Liverpool is a tough gig.
Yeah that’s why I was asking. Just seemed to me to be a bit overhyped but maybe I’m being harsh.
I don’t think he’s particularly overhyped, plus anyone can have a bad day. I think he’s fairly rated, CL standard CB. Of course Koundé is the better prospect, I just highlighted Pau cause he would be a decent pickup for a lot of bigger teams.
Pau is Laporte lite, he's improving every season a lot
Why do people keep calling Pau Torres a young player? He’s almost 26 lol
Was referring to Pau Torres as “relatively available” not specifically as a young player.
Would be better for Chelsea to sign Guehi back. One of their academy graduates and has been a rock for Crystal Palace.
We don't have a buyback on him, he'd likely be just as expensive if not more
I think Chelsea have a reported hefty sell-on clause though, which makes re-signing him a bit easier.
Didn’t know we had sell-on clause for Guehi
We have matching rights on him, so we can match any other bid that is accepted.
So we should just put in 2 bids of 30 mil on him
Modern problems require modern solutions.
What advantage does this actually give us? Dont we have the right to match a bid for every player in the world? Then its up to the player to agree terms. Is it just that we get a courtesy phone call if they accept a bid from someone else?
I think it means that if Chelsea match the bid then they have to be the first option the club goes to. For example if Chelsea and Madrid offered the same for a player that they have a match offer on, if Chelsea match then the club have to accept the Chelsea bid. Player can still refuse though
If the price is gonna be the same I would still go for Guehi. Been one of the best CBs in the prem this season and acadamey graduates will always have a special connection with the club.
Nah, Kounde is better and plus it will make the board look stupid for selling an asset at so much below market value and then buying him back at an inflated price,(Only 1 year later at that)Marina won't have that.
Trust the process
That was years later tho, completely different situation.
Delayed egg on the face is still egg on the face
U been cleaning ur face for 10 years my guy
True, but if u space it out then the embarrassment won't be as severe.
I get what you are trying to say but Kounde is far better.
We’ll need Kounde and Guehi.
We dont have a buyback clause. I think there's one or both of a price match clause and a resale clause.
So our best bet on buying him back again is for another team to make a move for him and then us matching that but I doubt that'll happen this window, thinking 2023 or 2024.
Kounde RCB Guehi LCB. Kounde is an Azpilicueta replacement. Guehi would be a Rudiger replacement. Also have Colwill returning who plays LCB. The list of LCBs we have lost recently; Rudiger, Zouma, Tomori, Guehi....
Why not both?
^(oh no wait romans gone)
People underrate being PL proven. With the gap between the PL and other leagues continuing to increase, that’s going to be more important than ever
marina hates youth players, she doesnt earn commissions when she promotes youth, but does get commissions when she signs players
What's your source on this?
The answer is he hates marina. I replied to his hate filled comments the other day
Lol, nevermind. As suspected tbh.
Man people will really just say anything won't they?
Spurs will probably consider an approach again
And he would once again reject them
We wont, we have Cuti now.
Kounde plays as a RCB, he isn't starting over Cuti.
We'll be going after a LCB and spending big money there, over another RCB who would cost a ton anyways.
Tomori is better
He's not for sale though
We don't need to splash the cash on players like Tomori, we should be looking to our academy.
No no, I much prefer our strategy of selling all of our young defenders right before everyone else’s contract expires.
No, we actually do have a highly rated CB prospect who’s had an excellent loan with Huddersfield. Makes more sense to try to integrate him this season than buying back either Tomori or Guehi for like £50m+.
Lewill or something right? I completely agree its not worth bringing Tomori back, but in hindsight i think it's pretty clear we should've held on to him. I just thought it was funny to say we should be looking at our academy when Tomori was let go despite being one of its better CB prospects.
Levi Colwill, he’s arguably a better prospect than both Tomori and Guehi
I hate that stupid thing
All I can say is why? Feel like for 59m we are being robbed
araujo is better than kounde and valued wayyyyy less
Alright we will take Aruojo for a cool 30M, thanks
you can have lenglet for discount
is lenglet better than kounde?
yes he is the best cb in laliga.
araujo is better than kounde
ooh a barca fan saying his CB is better than others. call me a shock
you're both Chelsea fans. you have no bias whatsoever huh??
I wasn't the one claiming my cb is better than kounda out of nowhere
i said "araujo is better than kounde and valued wayyyyy less" which is relevant
He is not, but if you’re happy then I’m happy.
Wasn't this journalist an fan of SMG wanting to takeover.
He certainly had access to them, but that's probably it
Hyping them up as well. Clearly he's jealous of Matt Law.
Matt Law is an absolute clown tbh, outside of certain connections there's nothing to be jealous of.
Why would he be jealous of that absolute rat? Nizaar is a much better journalist
Sarah michelle gellar?
Saudi Media Group.
Not as hot
It's quite hot in the desert my dude.
Yeah, but it’s a *dry* heat.
Buffy is hot everywhere
He is one of the most reliable Chelsea journalists, when it comes to transfers he rarely if ever talks bullshit.
Big Buffy fan was he?
A saudi fan.
He will struggle in the PL. But Tuchel plays 3 at the back so should have protection. Going from Rudiger to Kounde would be a massive drop in physicality
He would not be Rudiger's replacement though.
They play on opposite sides
This is significantly less than they refused last season. I think he’s moving this summer, but it’ll be much more expensive.
It's in pounds
