everyone hide, pep is in destruction mode.
“destroyed them”, he didn’t hold back. Nailed them so hard!
Messi scored a header with fucking Vidic and Ferdinand in MU defence
Fucking give me PTSD
Messi smol but Messi got serious hops.
And he held back. Because Barça destroyed United twice, in 09 and 11. "Lack of personality", says the French pundit/buffoon. You can tell Evra didn't manage his finances very well, otherwise he wouldn't be talking crap on TV.
Hide in the champions league trophy, we’ll be safe there
Ok, that’s a good one. Hurts my feelings, but it’s funny.
Evra is the first player to lose 4 CL finals.
Played in 5 more than most players though
The brother is lucky John Terry slipped or it would have been 5 for 5 lol.
If that happened man woulda ended his career 0-1 in world cup finals, 0-1 in euro finals, and 0-5 in cl finals. Yikes
Didn't evra play a big part with the France national team falling apart in 2010? I may be remembering wrong
Evra was not in the 2006 France team
Thats 3 CL finals more than City have reached
Pep overthinking insults to get you out of hiding
He's won it two times lmao
Yeah like I get slamming City or I guess Peps run with City, but it’s not like Pep has been chasing the CL his entire career…
He has been for over a decade
He has three of those at home
It's just me ir he is more agressive since Madrid?
it's a common strategy for a manager to go in the offensive after a big loss. Galvanise the players by creating an external enemy and change the narative in the media.
That's mourinho's move
Nah he’s been like that since the start of the season, constantly teasing journalists and fuck around in his press conference. The man seems like he’s having tons of fun this season.
I can't wait for haaland + pep press conferences.
It’s pretty entertaining.
Been fun to watch. Sometimes the pundits in general, need to be put in their place.
Indeed. It’s been very satisfying.
Young Bald Fraud, he in Sicko Mode🔥
What has Berba done.. didn't speak for his whole playing career.
Berbatov is the embodiment of being chill and still gets targeted
Berbatov: What he say fuck me for?
Da fuck did I do?
Giving a fuck when it ain't your turn to give a fuck, McNulty.
Berba right now:
Seems like Pep may have only seen the headline that was "Berbatov says City crashed out like a small team", when what he actually said was "with a small team you'd say it was mentality to concede 2 in the last 5 minutes. With City that's not the case, they are full of winners, so I really don't have an explanation for what happened."
>"I don't think it's a mentality issue for City, it's unexplainable."
Yeah basically said nothing, the press probably set it up for Pep though.
I don't see much wrong in what Berbatov said.
Cad Bane voice " I'd be careful where I was sticking my nose if I were you"
If anything that’s kind to Pep.
At best he’s extremely unlucky, at worst he’s a mentally weak manager whose body language and tactics betray a weakness and insecurity in the vital moments of knockout games.
body language merchant
Who gives you more confidence, the skinny bald guy doing a frantic interpretive dance routine or the Italian guy with the perfect quaffed hair who looks like he already knows the outcome is a win and he’s itching to have his afternoon espresso
don carlo with his mafia vibe
[Berba next time](https://youtu.be/iD8Q0lvJZvI) he talks about Pep
When the big bald weapons are deployed sometimes collateral damage is unavoidable.
Hey thats sexual assault
He wasn’t even in that team for the final. He did nothing wrong. Lol.
He came on as a sub in 2009 though.
Yea. I guess when he said destroy, i picture 2011 final more vividly. Lol
The Scholes paradox
Didn't have to, his skills spoke for him.
To be fair, Evra talks shit about Pep and especially City 24/7, this was bound to happen lol, Pep is on smoke
Expected from the raw chicken spanking and raw grass eating person. The guy actually made a video “roasting” Liam Gallagher after the CL final, acts and talks like a 10 year old.
[That wonderwall rendition is something...](https://youtube.com/shorts/ygV-rk8lD0Y?feature=share)
That's fucking funny though. We should separate the banter from the weird
Yeah he's an odd guy but that shit was hilarious lmao.
That's really fucking jokes haha
Maybeeeeeeeeee you're gonna win it when I'm ninteeeeeeeyyyyyy
Yeah that's hilarious tbf
and the do actually suits him.
He even went out of his way to get a wig lol
Ok but that’s funny as fuck
That video is absolutely great though, Liam deserves it
Don’t forget Evra’ baby video
What's this video?
Yeah his comments were a bit mad and easy pickings as Pep is winning another title. He doesn’t represent the club really anymore, and I think he was a ‘club ambassador’ for a while but that has died down, and there’s a reason you don’t see him on Sky anymore.
Evra talked shit about everyone when he was a player. Fantastic defender but man he had something to say 24/7, and almost none of it was good.
To be fair the way he handled the suarez situation, even to this day when meeting liverpool pussies who at the time supported suarez, was classy af
And what he said about religion and love even against his father's ideas.
He's out there as a personality but also a very passionate and genuine person. You can say he talks shit a lot but dont undermine his takes cause a lot of them are gold
Yup, he's very supportive of gay footballers, and has been open about sexual abuse which has surely helped young people speak up in their own lives. Even if you don't like the guy you have to admit his net positive influence far outweighs the odd shit banter
I can’t believe this is even a serious discussion. People talking shit or throwing shade at eachother at this level is normal.
Has repeatedly come out in support of homosexuality in football too. The idea that "he talks a lot and almost none of it is good" is so far off. He openly supports more good than most footballers, he's just a bit weird and likes bantering City. Both harmless, if you're not thin skinned like Pep.
My favorite banter was when PSG tried to get him punished for celebrating obnoxiously when Utd knocked them out of the UCL a few years back. Hilarious how mad PSG was.
> He's out there as a personality but also a very passionate and genuine person
Yeah, agreed. It certainly matches most of what I've heard about him. But when he is out there he is ***out there***. I definitely didn't like him as a a player because of how much shit he talked about everyone.
Real Madrid vs Man City added minutes was Pep's joker arc
For real, I’m scared of what he’ll become next season
Spiked shin pads and Muay Thai lessons for all Man City players. He’s sending everyone home in a body bag next season
Olenna tyrell energy
But the Lancashire rose is the sigil.
Didn't end too good for her.
*You see, I had never seen the pois..PED’s work before. Tell Jurgen. I want him to know it was me*
I mean it could've ended worse. Could've just been water in the cup.
"Tell Cersei it was me!"
Bitch you can tell her yourself, that was 7-Up.
Still a real G though
Tell Patrice, I want him to know it was me.
Everytime I see a GoT reference I remember how it could have been one of the most relevant and important pieces of popular media ever and then get angry at how fucking badly they butchered to the point I have to see references in a fútbol sub in order to think about it again.
I mean lol.
The start of GOT is probably the only high fantasy that will ever be close to rival LOTR.
And then.. 🤪
Throwing bran of the window was the moment I made me addicted to the show
Sadly, Bran being thrown out of the window did less damage to his brain then watching Arya knife trick the night king 🤪
And then they made bran a super important character that… sat in a wheelchair, missed a season entirely, and stared at people for an uncomfortable amount of time.
My rage towards Bran knows no bounds.
pep doesnt give a shit lmao he has been on a rampage the past 2 weeks
just 1 loss I beg someone I think it might push him even further
I like this Pep more than sarcastic Pep, finally some honesty
Lol this is when he’s engaged and enjoying things
I think you've got it backwards and the shit talking is happening because he knows we're about to win the league.
Plus, he's been at peak sarcasm recently.
is it? Because it started after the Madrid game
I’m with you man, something clicked for a few City people after that defeat. Like Goku watching Krillin die (again)
I think he's just tired of meaningless critique like this mentality and character shit.
This seems like an inevitability tbh; critiquing mentality, personal character, commitment or personal life choices is the bread and butter of our sports journalism and punditry. Even for the pundits who are regarded more highly or as more cerebral like Gary Neville and Carragher
The Bald Fraud 2: Taking No Prisoners
Madrid opened the flood gates
What did berbatov say?
Nothing. He just said City's loss was unexplainable.
Caught some strays. Lmao
I think the reporters asked what does Pep think about Berbatov and Evra's words, and Pep just replied to Evra's criticism
How dare he
Tbf he has a point as Manchester United United had players with big characters in both Champions Finals in which Barca under Pep beat us comfortably.
That 2011 final was rough to see as a United fan as Barca completely destroyed us and made us look like a Championship side.
Retired players do go on way more revisionism than normal. Every pundit or player just tries to criticize the modern situation even though nearly all of them had issues of their own. So it is okay for managers and current players to get frustrated by the constant criticisms as well.
Yeah there is a sort of idealism about old days. If you actually watch old matches you can see how big players also make crucial mistakes in big matches. I remember watching 2002 WC final a few days back and Kahn made a big mistake that lead to a goal. It doesn't mean he doesn't become a great or lacks mentality. Mistakes do happen even from the best.
>Yeah there is a sort of idealism about old days.
Because we remember the highs but forget about the lows. All the greats (even Messi and Ronaldo) have had bad performances in big matches.
It happens especially with United, as it’s a sphere that’s saturated with former players who were there when Sir Alex was. It’s all different now and the club has had a lot of change (some better, a lot worse) so they are totally out of date opinions.
>It happens especially with United
It shouldn't though, that final alone was littered with mistakes. From the tactical setup, to the individuals on the goals.
Still think VdS should've done better on the first two, especially the Pedro one where he gave him the near corner for free. The second was a good hit but pretty central, and from 25 yards. And then the third goal is a United giveaway in their own box.
I don't know why so many pundits think they played mistake free football, but you're right. It's one of the reasons I like Neville a lot, because he fully accepts his failures as a player and manager and doesn't go overboard with criticism.
Did you read what Berbatov said? There was nothing untoward in what he said.
Oof that's fucking brutal.
To be honest I of course love the two but pundits deserve flak like that for sure.
I mean tbf, Berbatov’s backlash is undeserved. The headline is wayyyy worse than his full quote. Half the remarks are about how amazing city is to begin with lol
Also, he isn’t wrong. That 2011 game was brutal.
12-1 shots on target
Amazing that this was once considered brutal but now is just another away game vs Brighton
We didn’t even fucking score against Brighton.
That's a violation...
*For other top teams, it would be considered a savaging; an implosion; a humiliation.*
*But for post-Fergie Man United, it was just a Saturday.*
Lmao ...everything is fine
It’s kind of ridiculous we were even in that final at all. The Glazer rot was really starting to set in and we had to start Fabio at RB, 38 year old Ryan Giggs in central midfield to compete with Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Alves, Messi, Villa etc.
What having Prime Messi does to a mf.
If it was just prime messi, I am certain United would have fought much better. They had prime xavi, iniesta, busquets, alves, pique. That's a star studded team from top to bottom
It was one of those losses where you couldn't even be that mad about it because you knew the other team was simply better.
Agreed. But thr 2009 one tho. Ronaldo lost the game. He was very poor
The 2009 one was a more reasonable matchup I agree.
The 2011 sucked though because you make it all the way to the final to play them again only this team there was no doubt you were playing against a generational team.
Tbf we had an absurdly easy run to the final in 2011. We'd won the title that season but it was a weak year overall and we were a shadow of the 2009 side.
I still think if we'd scored one of those early chances in 09 it would have been a more competitive game. Not saying we would have won or anything but I still think about it. Damn. That's the one right there. The one result I'd change in United's history if I could. Would have been back to back European Cups and 3 in a row in the Prem. That 06-09 team is the best United side in my near 30 years supporting the club. It suffers from having the misfortune of meeting the greatest club side ever in 2 of the 3 CL Finals it got to in that time. Crazy how it sometimes comes down to one game in terms of defining legacy.
Yeah it's interesting how different that 09 team was compared to the team just two seasons later (At least in terms of attacking talent)
I agree with you that 09 should've been the one. Didn't feel at all confident against the 11 team, but that first meetup was definitely more than fair.
All 3 of their goals were ridiculous, too. Xavi generated acres of space for himself to be able to leisurely play in Pedro with a perfect pass, then Messi from distance, then Messi sending Nani to the shadow realm before Villa finished into the top corner.
Prime Messi def helped a lot, but let's not forget that tiki-taka pretty much ruled football 2010-2012, as we saw with Spain's domination at the WC and Euro. Barca would've beaten that United without Messi.
Totally agree except I'd say *2008-2012
That 2011 side didn't have any business even getting to the final. We dodged everyone in the knockouts and was prolly one of the worst sides to get to the finals in recent memory
What did berbatov do to deserve that?
Nah this man spends at least 6 hours a day ratioing 12 year old on Twitter
Only to get hit back with the "Warra second hair line for Guardiola"
The Kevin Durant of the football world.
He’s definitely had multiple accounts banned from /r/soccer
Am confident one of the no flair regulars here that winds up other fans is pep
Couldn't see Berbatov because he wasn't even on the bench during the 2011 final
That one will forever piss me off
Violence on a Friday afternoon.
Brutality on Friday the 13th!
Yea ok fair
Pep isn’t taking prisoners anymore
Bruh I thought there was some translation error but he straight up said "destroyed them" lol
(I) Fuck with your soul like ether
(Will) Teach you the king you know you
(Not) "Mes que un coach" across the belly
(Lose) I prove you lost already
Nas is the real GOAT, Stillmatic still slaps 2 decades later
between pep, klopp, arteta, and conte ...there's some genuine bad blood in the prem these days and i'm here for it all
enough with the pleasantries
Man's on a killing spree lately lmao
Lol he’s not taking shit from anyone anymore..
Sarcastic Pep has evolved into Super Sayian Pep, it's getting scary - I do not wish to see what Super Sayian Pep can do.
Get even more bald
Is that even possible when the man is at 100% baldness
What happens to Pep?
Real Madrid with 🤨
What Benzema does to a mf
I love this more outspoken, not taking any shit, Pep
Pep, Pep, Pep, Pep Pep. smh
This is the best version of media Pep.
Tbh I bet the journalists love this too, easy clicks
That’s amazing 😂
I genuinely adore this man. Something's flipped in the past few weeks and he's just taking shots at everyone
It's like he has had enough. This is obviously a planned thing, but with all the journalists not trying to hide their biases, the pundits downplaying what he has done, he is deflecting the attention away from the team. We have seen this playbook before, 2011, when he called Mourinho the fucking king of the press room. It was calculated, it was premeditated, and did shield the team. Same thing here. Only this time, it has nothing to do with an opposition team, just the frustration against the media.
For those saying it's after the Madrid game, he broke character even before that when he commented on Klopp by saying he does not decide schedules for opposition teams. The good guy Pep would have just said, yeah it should not happen.
He experienced something we call "the Rodrygo"
Rodrygo? Pep's Rodrygone.
Yeah, fair play.
I like this Pep!
Pissed off Pep weeks after getting out of CL is the best Pep
He's not holding back😭
RM has mentally damaged him.
he's a lot more normal like this than the 1.000 Dantes version.
They’ve done him a favour, the lad must have had so much built up frustration by staying quiet. He’s now free! Free to slay!
lol he was like this at Barca
Fixed him you mean? I actually like this version of Pep haha
Evra talks shit 24/7, Berba didn’t even do anything, poor man just catching strays by association.
To be fair, his Barcelona destroyed everyone else too. It even destroyed the way mainstream football was played up to then.
Pep wakes up and choose violence
Brutal but to be fair, that Barcelona team were a level above that United team in the Wembley final.
Madrid aren't even a better team than City imo. Hence the mentality part comes in but ofcourse it's easy for explayers to sit outside and comment about mentality and stuff.
Has Berbatov piped up about character and mental strength? *Berbatov*?
Berbatov's wasn't even bad. Think he's just been collateral damage to Evra.
Not bad at all, he pretty much said Pep shouldn't be blamed lolol
Ye man one of the most important leaders in Bulgarian football who currently is fighting a war with our FA to get rid of corruption is soft because Sir Alex didn't think he tracked back enough.
Go Berbatov , make Bulgaria a world cup semi-finalist again
