Have you ever watched one of those jihadist videos and instantly wished you could have a mind wipe? I have that same desire after clicking on a BBC news story about Vardy’s wife.
Are there any reliable numbers for the total cost of Haaland operation?
Some old articles from Spanish press are mentioning 300 million for 5 year including release clause + agent + father + joining bonus + salary.
However recent reports suggest the number is closer to 200 million for 5 years, 85 million transfer + agent + father + bonus and 24 million per year salary.
Reputable sources are saying about 60 million + bonus and commission. Same sources are saying he is getting paid as much as KDB (specific that it’s not more than KDB) which means about 20 million a year.
Im a Real Madrid fan but our sub is so cringe sometimes..
"Do we need a backup striker? No Mbappe can play as striker if needed".. he aint even signed yet and when you mention it you get downvoted like a mf lol
You haven't visited the mythical PSG sub I see
club subs are always cringe more so in case of real
blows my mind that we took [this kickoff](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-FafK-joe8&ab_channel=SpreadSheetSoccer) from Bournemouth and also should have scored with it with Vini vs City
>And then made it better
>Real Madrid don't score
Yeah tbf I think Madrid’s way would work more on average, it’s an easier ball to the flank. That Bournemouth pass was masterful
What the chances of a Wolves upset tonight?
If the game was played 100 times how many times do you think Wolves get at least a point, 10 times?
I know this isn't related to your question, but how do you feel about Vieira so far? I thought he did a solid job in France from the few games I watched, although I think that's not the general consensus of Ligue 1 fans, and I wanted to watch more Palace games but haven't been able to.
He's fantastic, just an incredible presence in the club and he's changed our style in such a short amount of time from a turgid defensive one to a possession based team.
Really can't overstate how happy Palace fans are with him and the aura around the club at the mo.
Ty for the info! I thought he did really well with Nice with the limited budget and players he had available. Have a soft spot for both palace and Vieira(as a manager, not a player lol), so good to hear it's going that well. I'll try to catch more palace games
I think 15 tbh. More to do with City failing to turn up than Wolves' quality but yeah Wolves are decent and even City have a shit game a few times a season
Definitely a chance. City did need some VAR black magic when they played them at the etihad
The exchange has City at 1.29/1.3 suggesting City win 77 times out of 100 - therefore wolves upset 23 times.
If you're asking me I have no clue - have barely watched any wolves games this season if any and rarely watch City either
The bookies will always favour the house too so 10% sounds about right.
I've watched almost all the City games and some Wolves. I think 10% is a bit generous it's madness that they are still 8th in the league.
The exchange doesn't have juice in the odds (it has a 2% commission though).
Tbh not quite sure what number I feel is right but I feel Wolves have <90% chance of losing the game so >10% getting a result.
I don't like predicting or betting on football results because it's a low scoring game etc however the fact that it's low scoring means that it's generally easier to get an upset than youd reasonably think.
Was planning to go more into it but have got some work to do before I leave for the game so probably should keep it brief.
I feel if you try and simulate the game being played x times one would generally have a greater bias to the favourite.
However if you were to simulate the scenarios in terms of number of goals scored I feel generally most would come up with a greater number for Wolves win/draw.
Realistically the likelihood of Wolves scoring >2 is negligible (not more than 1% you'd think)
So more or less have to consider the odds of:
Wolves clean sheet
Wolves scoring 1 & City scoring 1
Wolves scoring 2 & City scoring 1 but <3 (awww that's a heart - sorry got distracted by that)
I feel you can probably give a bit less than 10% chance of a Wolves clean sheet - let's say 8%?
Then reckon you can probably give like maybe 5% combined for the other two? Not really thought about it much but feel its fair.
Then there's maybe a couple % you can add on for all the combined unlikely scenarios - eg City Red card or Wolves getting 3 etc etc.
Which would maybe get 15%
Tried to be somewhat conservative but also fair. Then there's also the fact that the game is at home which I've not taken into account because well cba tbh but that may increase their chances too.
Not quite sure what I'm trying to say other than I feel a 10% chance of a win/draw for Wolves is quite low especially given they are relatively solid at the back (only City Liverpool and Chelsea have conceded less).
Conceding 3 to Brighton and 2 to Lukaku makes their backline lose credibility in addition to the loss of Kilman but I reckon can give them at least 15% tbh.
Damn that's some depth!
I only really bet on half time/full time results in footy, "worse" team to win the first half and then the better team to win overall. Been good to me over the years but it's super hit and miss as you'd expect.
Yeah I remember you mentioning that at some point before- iirc you had it for your game against Milwall in the cup?
Must be frustrating at times if there's an equaliser just before ht or the 'worse' team scoring just after ht and losing but bad beats happen with every market tbh.
Yeah can imagine it being hit and miss - something you gotta be persistent with though of course as can easily have a bad run - but then a good run later at some point.
I'd imagine its great for having that adrenaline rush (or whatever that feeling is) while being able to maintain a sensible stake at the same time.
I personally used to bet a lot on corners when I started but since a bit after the lockdown I got a bit jaded of betting on them and also wanted the reduce the quantity of bets and improve the quality (be more selective) so apart from cards I've stopped betting on football tbh.
Only do it with select refs and teams game scenario/matchups though - and I do it on a weird book where you can win or lose more depending on how much you win/lose by. Makes it a bit weird in that way feel like you've lost money even if making a profit if the refs not wanting to send many off - but then some European games like the City Atletico 2nd leg are just a treat.
Wanted to potentially it with the Leeds game tonight tbh coz dirty Leeds etc but the lines a tad high and would probably have to do it before the game as thought Id go up to watch it so won't be able to do it inplay and I'd rather just enjoy the game than be thinking about a bet - I remember our last game at the Bridge against them I placed some inplay on cards (on a normal book tho) and kept screaming "book him you cunt" or something at the ref - I like to think the ref heard me when he booked meslier at the end for delaying time before then penalty and won me my bet.
Also Taylor can be quite inconsistent/weird with cards - he often books players for diving or gk timewasting etc but is quite lenient with reckless fouls and if I got any hesitations/doubts I prefer to just leave the bet and sit with what I have which is something I've learnt to do recently and has done wonders for me.
That's some memory! Yep hit on Millwall and recently against Southampton too.
The enjoyment bit is weird like sometimes if I don't put a bet on when I think about it, it annoys me watching the game but most of the time I'll enjoy a game more if I don't have anything on it. Stupid brain.
Hahaha yeah I get you, if you decided against placing that bet you're praying for that bet to have lost etc.
That Southampton one was quite a later winner too if im not mistaken.
Similarly, I oddly get more pleasure out of not placing a bet which I was debating but decide against when it loses than I do from a winning bet - Serie A games are often hard to resist with esp with cards in certain games w certain refs ngl but the satisfaction of having restrained yourself when a bet loses is class for me.
Always find it weird watching a football game with a bet on - I'm more thinking about scenarios for the bet to win than watching the game organically like when i used to place corner bets I sometimes got annoyed/paid significantly more than a normal amount of attention at the way the ball was deflecting off players etc which just takes away from the enjoyment of the game and probably was a tad unhealthy looking back on it.
Definitely a more enjoyable/normal experience without a bet - but sometimes need something else to stimulate my brain but tend to just play with my dog if I'm at home instead of having a bet.
Feels like we're going through a struggle at this point at the worst possible time.
Salah can't get back into form and the others are beginning to look tired. Just hope we recover enough for the FA cup final cause I know nothing short is gonna happen in the title race.
I wish you all the best for all the games except the one vs Royal Madrid.
You know we’re *joint top the league and we only drew to spurs and you think we’re going through a struggle? Yet we’ve won every game game bar Benfica and city prior to that. Pessimism at its finest.
The LFC sub is waiting for you pal.
chelsea are in terrible form and we have an extra day of rest so we should be good
Hyped for the coppa final tonight. I so want to be the ones stopping juve getting a trophy for the first time in 10 years
Now that City got Alvarez and Haaland, what happens to Gabriel Jesus?
Lmao that meme of Jesus being a backup striker even when City had no striker.
Exiled to Arsenal
He'll be a great addition to Arsenal
Yea tbf he would be if they actually go through with it
Any team interested in him?
Predictions on Haaland's goal tally in EPL next season
Can give couple of reasons why Asensio is better than James Rodrigues.
Nope. 0 reasons. James even had more 'golazos' than Asensio.
Better at speaking in an annoying Spanish accent? Cause apart from that I’m struggling to think of anything
That performance by Jon moss last night is a classic example of keeping the title race alive .
Sorry, what decisions did he make that directly affected the result of the game!?
Title race is dead.
I’m not so sure mate . I’ve backed £15 at 20/1 for quad and £15 at 7/1 for title so keep going
Amazing that their goal was not called for offside. Every game refs get basic decisions wrong
Only Liverpool fans could watch that game and decide *they* were the ones who got screwed by the refs
To be fair Villa scored a goal that should have been offside and Liverpool had no major decisions go their way that shouldn't have done so it's hardly an injustice
So the team that had a goal against them that should have been disallowed was the one that got favoured? Right
yeah I see that we were favoured but that's jon moss he's genuinely shit
A lot of refs have been shit this season and a lot of teans have suffered aswell . A good ref is a ref that no one knows there babe as the gane flows without any fuss but these refs have massive egos .
OTD has just turned into a way for fans to shit on their rivals or for messi, ronaldo stans
Pretty sure the amount of signing bonus Haaland and his dad would be getting is insane. No way he transferred for only 60m.
Dortmund was robbed but I think it was all pretty much decided when he signed the contract.
Dortmund got a world class striker for a couple of seasons, gained a lot of new fans and followers on social media, won a DFB Pokal and sold him for a significant profit. They did nothing wrong
Yeah Dortmund set that release clause because they had to to sign him. He was always going to leave again
Reported to be around 100M
Transfer + Signing bonus + Commission
psg will definitely get midfielders right? so who do they sell? paredes? gueye? herrera?
Herrera definitely won't leave because no one will pay him that much to be a club ambassador lol
Their midfield situation is odd. Gueye and Parades are the ones who don't have long left on their contract, but outside of Verratti they are probably the two they would want to lose the least. They need to sell about four midfielders if they can.
Pretty excited for EA Sports FC ngl
It's just a name change. It will be exactly the same as the last 10 iterations
That's what's so exciting the new name it's something fresh you know
They lose licensing of many names and leagues
Nah that’s done independently through fifpro I think. Shouldn’t be any different to how it is now
Juan Mata had a better career and was a better No. 10 than James Rodrigues.
3 Primeira Ligas on the bounce, a Europa League with Porto, a Puskas award, 2 La Ligas, 2 Bundesligas, a World Cup Golden Boot and 2 Champions Leagues
2 Club World Cups, a DFB Pokal, couple of Portuguese cups, 9 supercups in 4 countries
How has Mata bettered this career?
The best season of Mata's career he had 0.84 G+A per 90. James bettered that 4 times in his career. Mata's second best season(0.73 G+A/90) would be James' 8th best season in terms of output.
Both had short primes but yeah Mata at least stuck around longer
Mata would have been one of the all timers if he stayed at Chelsea and never lost form
Would have had modric quaking in his boots mate
What are the odds Ronaldo throws a hissy fit and tries to leave off season? We defo won't get UCL and I can't see him happy even in Europa
where would he go tbh
>We defo won't get UCL
Its mathematically impossible.
I think his team is working on it already. There's recents news linking him with a move back to Madrid .
I hope he stays though. Will be interesting how he'd work things out with Ten Hag
It's Ten Hag with one 'a'.
*I am a bot. For any feedback please contact [my creator](https://www.reddit.com/user/Tempoulker).*
lmfao who made this hahahaha
A real hero
Hah sorry my bad
Which UCL club is going to sign him? Especially with those wages?
Do you see Mourinho as a villain who is on a redemption arc by trying to win the Conference League?
No, Mourinho is a hero.
He's more of an anti-hero, like Batman.
Edit: I have no idea if the people replying to me are joking but Batman's been considered an anti-hero by many since Frank Miller's runs in the 80s. Just because he doesn't gun down people for misdemeanors like the Punisher doesn't mean he isn't one too.
Batman isn't and has never been considered an anti-hero, no that didn't change post Frank Miller run.
He doesn't kill anyone, the dude's no more ethically compromised than Spider-Man.
Mainline Batman isn't, and has never been, an anti-hero. Genuinely baffled anyone would call him that, like what just because of the aesthetic?
Really? [Because I wonder who is that guy in the picture at the top of TV Tropes' anti-hero entry?](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AntiHero) [Or is literally the first entry on the DC comics section of the anti-hero entry?](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/AntiHero/TheDCU) [Or has](https://collider.com/reasons-why-batman-is-perfect-antihero/) [many articles](https://www.comiccrusaders.com/batman-the-antihero-gotham-deserves/) [out there](https://www.bartleby.com/essay/Batman-As-An-Anti-Hero-FCACRD66YBV) [that call](https://whatculture.com/comics/4-reasons-why-batman-must-be-considered-an-anti-hero) [him an](https://www.kibin.com/essay-examples/batman-the-original-anti-hero-z7xhmDGu) [anti-hero?](https://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/mary.warner/StudentLinks/2008_Fall/SLoveUnitOfStudy.htm)
Just because he doesn't kill doesn't make mean he isn't an anti-hero.
Dude, he's as morally upright as fucking Spider-Man.
Who also has the very occasional comic where he's portrayed as an anti-hero.
He's still just overall considered a hero, Batman is not an anti-hero, he's a bog standard hero the majority of the time.
"However, Batman's status as an anti-hero ultimately depends on who's writing or portraying him; many have leaned towards a more traditional idea of heroism. For example, while Frank Miller's fits this trope like a glove, it's really hard to describe Adam West's Batman as an anti-hero."
Frank Miller is one writer, no he has not been considered an anti-hero ever since lmfao.
Yes, Frank Miller is one writer but he also happens to be the writer who took Batman out of his previous golden and silver age characterisation into what he has since become, an anti-hero. How can you say Miller is just one writer when he is the writer that had the most influence on modern Batman and comic book anti-heroes as a whole?
Anyway, this is what you said:
>Batman isn't and has never been considered an anti-hero
and I posted a lot of evidence to prove that he actually is considered that. If you still have an issue, TV Tropes is editable so you can edit those two links I posted to remove Batman if you want. If he is so obviously not considered an anti-hero by everyone like you say he is, I'm sure he won't be re-added immediately. Or you could read some of the rest of the links I posted and maybe learn something? Up to you mate.
Lmfao no, you calling Grant Morrison's Batman an anti-hero? Scott Snyder's Batman an anti-hero?
Look at the Robins he's 99% on good terms with, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, standard good guy heroes, the Robins he's often in opposition with, Damian Wayne, Jason Todd, actual anti-heroes.
He's not an anti-hero ffs. He works closely with the cops, he's Superman's best friend, he talks kids out of suicide, he puts saving lives over justice to criminals, the dude's a hero with a dark aesthetic.
No you haven't, you posted one links to a tropes page that says he's only sometimes an anti-hero, congrats.
Here's a link to my comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/umdqdm/daily_discussion/i86dnho/
Check it again. Here's a hint, the first sentence is one link, the second sentence is another link and there are 6 links in the last sentence. Surely, you don't need to be the world's greatest detective to have seen that? You can clearly see I haven't edited that comment.
Those are just random articles I found by the way, there are way more.
If you still have an issue with this, I guess you can start your personal crusade to change this commonly held point of view. You could edit those TV Tropes pages like I suggested earlier. How about writing a comment on all those articles or writing a response to those authors calling them out for considering Batman an anti-hero if you want?
I've done what I wanted to do, prove that people do in fact consider Batman an anti-hero. Have a good one!
There are also people who consider the Earth flat.
Both groups are wrong.
Yeah, a plausible belief based within the definition of the term anti-hero is totally comparable to a conspiracy theory that completely disregards all scientific evidence and rational thought.
What kind of argument is this? Go edit those TV Tropes pages if you're so convinced everyone that disagrees with you is wrong. Be the change you want to see in this world. Fight the power brother!
Batman isn't an anti-hero, but I do agree that José is an anti-hero
How is Batman in anyway an anti-hero????
Batman is not an anti-hero lmao
Batman isn't an antihero, that's more Red hood
I don't know the exact name of the hairstyle, but watching mullet Messi highlights just hits different. Don't think we'll see a player reach that level for a long time.
More importantly we won't see a player + coach/style combo so perfectly executed every again.
Mullet Messi was great, but he also was the greatest forward you could imagine in that revolutionary Pepe Barcelona. It was a match made in heaven.
Luis Diaz is fast becoming my favourite non-City player. What a baller and it's sickening how quickly he has adjusted
his work ethic and drive will get him to the very very top
Think he’s becoming one of my favourites for us. Just the type of player that gives you everything to love as a fan. Works so hard, creative and electric when he’s on
Winter winger signings are built different.
It's annoying how quickly he's settled in.
hahaha he doesn't need a full season to adjust like your signings
so? I'm joking with him anyway geniuinely, non of the toxic stuff that some people do
Ruben Dias didn't need a full season either. Although being forward in Pep's system is much more complicated than being a CB
Plus he's not that good.
People should just raid the Portguese leagues at this point
Based, Found that Ronaldo fella from Juve that looked like that kid we bought from Sporting
Can someone remind me why Fulham fans hate Scott Parker again I forgot
Boring football, and left in acrimonious circumstances. Had everything agreed with Bournemouth, so he tried to get fired so Fulham would pay him severance and Bournemouth wouldn’t have to pay anything, but Fulham didn’t give in and Bournemouth paid up eventually
That sounds exactly like the Scott Parker the player I remember
Thank you 👍
Do you feel the PL is slowly turning Pep and Klopp into Mourinho?
Prolly the opposite, they are turning miserable instead of pure evil
I think if they really were miserable, Klopp wouldn’t have recently extended, and rumours of Pep extending wouldn’t be a thing
I think them complaining in the media is because of all the pressure they are under tbh
Nah they can't match his evil charisma. Klopp moaning and Pep rubbing his bald head while being passive aggressive has nothing on Mou calling Wenger a specialist in failure
City is Abu Dhabi
Bruh Germany won the world cup lol
no lol, most of them don't even care about that
why isn't the pl haunted then?
Is Liverpool somehow immune to losing 😭 I swear they concede and it looks like their under pressure but they ALWAYS turn it around. Fucking crazy.
>but they ALWAYS turn it around
I wish it was always :')
Barca so desperate for money they sold coutinho for 21 million lmao
It's all about wages
Not exactly a bad price for him at this point. His reputation was in the bin, he is almost 30 and he has like a year left on his contract. No one was going to pay much more for him realistically.
Yeah, we are. It’s great that he’s gone.
Barca so desperate to get coutinho off the team.
How much they buy him for ?💀
I didn't feel happy after yesterday's win , I guess I gave up hope on the title
can't blame you, it isn't looking like city is gonna bottle it
Have faith in Wolves
As you should have a long time ago, Pep won't bottle the league like CL. He doesn't lose domestic titles.
Did everyone forget that Wolves is City’s worst nightmare after Spurs?
West Ham away isn’t easy and i’m sure Stevie will put a gun in every Aston Villa’s players family’s head before the game.
yeah but look at the gd + we will also play wolves lol
For those in the States who follow the J League, how do you watch the matches?
I follow the international J League YouTube channel where they stream a couple of matches but I feel like they only stream J2 matches. I could be wrong though.
I'd actually like to catch the occasional game too. Aoashi has gotten me interested in the league.
Don’t watch it but J league teams have the coolest kits
They really do. I love their kits.
>🎙| James Rodríguez: "I want Liverpool to win the Champions League. I have many friends at Real Madrid and it is a difficult team for this type of match, but I want Lucho (Díaz) to win."
We should've never let this guy have 2 CLs on his CV. Stupid cunt
You lot are the worst. Guaranteed bottom of the barrel opinions when I see that flair post a comment.
What's with RM fans lately lol
Im a RM fan but this is just horrible lol
Country > club
It's not Columbia vs Real Madrid
It’s his teammate from Colombia v Madrid. What’s so complicated to understand about this? No one actually thought the Colombian national team was lining up in the final
TIL Columbia is a country
But it is Colombia vs Real Madrid
He should get a pass on this. He wants to see the only player from his country doing anything significant win the biggest trophy he can win.
Ex-Everton player aswell.
You think if he doesn't care about Madrid, that he'd care about _Everton_ lol
Your odds for the UCL final? I’m going 60-40 in favor of Pool
100-0 in favour of Real Madrid
Liverpool 100 percent win.
Real Madridi is gonna win for sure 100%. I hate it but it's a fact.
Liverpool have no chance. the madrids don't lose important finals with this squad.
Lol let’s see. Might be worth it for you to throw some money on Madrid though as all betting sites have them as underdogs and you clearly know something they don’t
i've been making money from madrid ever since PSG.
I have 200 EUR from the PSG comeback, then put the money made for a comeback against Chelsea, then I put them against City.
I was hoping to lose every time.
This time I'm putting money on them winning directly, but if you somehow score a goal first, i'm doubling those money for a comeback
Interesting strategy lol. Hopefully you lose multiple bets on the final day then
I think it's extraordinarily close but Real Madrid being able to rest players until the final while Liverpool will need to play close to full strength could favour Real.
Provided both sides are able to play close to their full strength sides I truly believe it's about 50/50.
We do look very tired and what happens in the FA Cup and League till then will impact the psyche of the players.
I think this close title race has burnt both teams and it shows in our "tough" fixtures.
That fa cup final is gonna go all the way like the league cup . Be a very good final .
I don't know. It can go anyone's way. It's not like any team is clearly better than the other unlike the other KO stage matches.
I think Liverpool is clearly much better.
Real Madrid have ridden so much luck and have a destiny like desire to win though.
What do you mean by luck? The team that wins the tie deserves to win the tie. Liverpool are just as lucky as Real Madrid to be in the final.
Liverpool's opponents in the KO stage were all teams which are much weaker than them. Maybe only Inter could pack a punch against them but they're a league above Benfica and Villareal.
Real Madrid had to beat PSG (a team with Messi, Mbappe and Neymar), Chelsea (the previous UCL winners), and hardest of all, Man City (arguably the best team in the world)
