At this point, barring injury Havertz is guaranteed to start at the 9 position against Liverpool.
But after that we've got Luton Town, who are probably more Lukaku's level.
Yeah, Lukaku's style of play was too static for Chelsea. Although they are different player with different style, may be Lukaku can try to emulate Harry Kane a little bit. Not too rigid up front, but trying to bait defender deeper to midfield so winger can exploit the hole with their speed.
Lukaku doesn’t have the touch/vision/pass to play like Kane. Kane has ridiculous accuracy on passing and shooting from any range. That’s not Lukaku’s strength.
He should be used more on counters because he got a burner and he can actually run at defenders, unlike Timo. He’s also pretty good at poaching, both on the ground and in the air, so we should always seek to overload the wings when he’s on the pitch. That’s why he’s a lot more lively when we got Reece and Chilly.
One of the other chances was almost impossible (shot from the edge of the box) and the other one probably should go in but wasn't as easy as it looked.
Still playing very well so far and was more involved in the opening 10 minutes against a CL side than Lukaku was against Palace in 90 minutes.
That Chelsea players/fans were embarrassing for celebrating the CWC win, saying City winning against Norwich was more important.
Obviously we would want Chelsea to be challenging for the PL title, but why on earth shouldn’t a trophy be celebrated?
Sounds like Burley being a miserable muppet as per, but what’s new!
Always though that was such a dumb line of thought. Don’t celebrate because there’s other things to be winning too? Bollocks.
We Bundesliga fans told Chelsea supporters:
* Kai Havertz may have a slow start but he's a brilliant talent and incredible technical player who will eventually succeed
* Timo Werner is a wasteful striker who lacks efficiency and cannot be used efficiently on the wings. He's going to be a disappointment and potentially a bust.
I feel like we're going 2/2 with our predictions. Felt not one ounce of regret about Werner and was very sad to see Havertz join a team that is not Bayern.
Werner is still very good at timing his movement off the ball and pulling defenders out of position. His main contribution to the attack is that he opens up spaces for the other attackers.
Chelsea definitely play better with Werner than without him.
Except Timo hasn’t been a bust…okay, there are valid criticisms and he hasn’t been perfect, but he’s still been a huge contribution on attack even if he doesn’t score like he should
He found a way to make himself useful and that's something, but for a 60m striker that was supposed to be a star you can't deny he's a been disappointing. He's basically a rotation player.
>for a 60m striker
50m
But yeah he's been disappointing. Most Chelsea fans I know really like him though, so I definitely wouldn't call it a bust. He was important to winning the champions league as well. Most g/a of any chelsea player last season, and had a couple wrongfully disallowed. He also looks worse than he is because he gets and creates more chances than most strikers due to his great movement, getting into good positions, but is also wasteful.
Maybe I’m mincing words, so sorry if it seems that way but…”disappointing” yeah ok, at times definitely disappointing. But “a disappointment”? Nah, that’s too far.
He's been underwhelming, I'd say, but definitely not a disappointment. You can see the potential in him too which must be super frustrating. I bet that at some point he'll have a crazy outlier season where he scores a ton of goals
He's kinda been doing it for Germany NT on the WC Qualifiers, i guess we'll see if it was only a purple patch or if Hansi Flick is actually able to unlock Timo Werner.
Werner has "complained" about the physicality of defenders in the premier. Maybe NT games are less physical.
Or maybe he's just not right for the premier. We'll see.
With all due respect to the NT of Latvia/Liechtenstein/Armenia/Iceland/North Macedonia (teams he scored against in 2021), I don't think many of them are comparable in quality to the kind of opponents he faces as a Chelsea player
Werner needs good passes to be played in behind for him to succeed. Unfortunately we don’t do that very well.
He’d be devastating in a team like Liverpool under Klopp.
Well, looks like they're finally getting it together here. Havertz has been much better recently while he's playing through the centre, and Timo has been taking on defenders and getting into the box a lot.
He needs to become more consistent, but I think that will come with experience. On his day, he is ridiculously fun to watch and capable of some really brilliant things.
He definitely has the potential to have a hazard-esque impact for Chelsea (he's already had some truly spectacular moments) but he needs to bulk up a little bit for the PL
Honest question because i dont watch him a lot but wasnt he kinda bad as a 9 last year and more comfortable as a 10? Whaz changed? He was really good as a 9 today

3 chances in 7 minutes for him
new Mr. Champions League
He doesn’t give a feck he just wins ze fecking champions league
Mr big champion
mr big chest reference in r/soccer warms my heart
Mr. Boundless Crossovers
THIRD TIME LUCKY!!!
Slightly better than 7 touches in 90 min
Rare Anorthosis flair!
Kai has been everywhere so far!
we're so fluid without Lukaku (still think Lukaku has a role to play)
At this point, barring injury Havertz is guaranteed to start at the 9 position against Liverpool. But after that we've got Luton Town, who are probably more Lukaku's level.
Luton are a very respectable championship side mate, might still be hard for the fella
Mate I think he can hit 10 touches against them tho
Depends If he plays like he has done at times this season he isn’t getting 10 touches
Cmon mate we won't concede 9 goal against luton..
Werner misses more sitters than Lukaku has touches in a game
Very true but Werner will mix in a few assists.
but Lukaku will have more thumbs up 👍
Yeah, Lukaku's style of play was too static for Chelsea. Although they are different player with different style, may be Lukaku can try to emulate Harry Kane a little bit. Not too rigid up front, but trying to bait defender deeper to midfield so winger can exploit the hole with their speed.
I've joked about Kane dropping down to DM at times but at this point I'd try DM Lukaku over whatever the fuck he's been doing lately

my man has a vertical of 10 cm he loses way too many headers
He should play vs bottom teams
Role of fucking off to a mid table club. Warned y'all lmao
Culda had one earlier too but im not complaining We havent looked so positive going forward in forever
Last time was against Liverpool probably, when again, we started Havertz (who was coming off an injury too) instead of Lukaku.
He's started really well, he could have had a hat trick at this point
Wouldn't that be considered a bad thing?
One of the other chances was almost impossible (shot from the edge of the box) and the other one probably should go in but wasn't as easy as it looked. Still playing very well so far and was more involved in the opening 10 minutes against a CL side than Lukaku was against Palace in 90 minutes.
I was only joking around but I'll happily agree he's better than lukaku
Depends on the final score
Definitely. At least if it was a player that isn’t liked, you know they’d be saying the opposite.
And has more than 7 touches I'm sure.
I counted 4 touches in the 30sec clip above
Havertz: "i will score a hattrick in as many minutes as Lukaku had touches at Palace!"
feels good having a centre forward playing
They've been dynamic right out of the gate, especially Havertz. No surprise he got a goal
CL Kai > Pele
In a decade probably
No shit, Sherlock
Are we sure he isn't Roy Kent in disguise?
Been extremely lively so far
Are you watching Craig Burley, you toothless cunt?
What did he say?
That Chelsea players/fans were embarrassing for celebrating the CWC win, saying City winning against Norwich was more important. Obviously we would want Chelsea to be challenging for the PL title, but why on earth shouldn’t a trophy be celebrated?

Craig burley is always a moody asshole
"Shit I lost all my teeth!"
King Kai
Big game player
He doesn't score a lot but man he shows up in important games. Kinda like Drogba lite
We Bundesliga fans told Chelsea supporters: * Kai Havertz may have a slow start but he's a brilliant talent and incredible technical player who will eventually succeed * Timo Werner is a wasteful striker who lacks efficiency and cannot be used efficiently on the wings. He's sorta like the 2016-2017 Benzema when he was struggling to finish but still contributing to chances.
Except Timo hasn’t been a bust…okay, there are valid criticisms and he hasn’t been perfect, but he’s still been a huge contribution on attack even if he doesn’t score like he should

But flick badly wanted Werner right? I wonder if he could have gotten the best out of him
He's kinda been doing it for Germany NT on the WC Qualifiers, i guess we'll see if it was only a purple patch or if Hansi Flick is actually able to unlock Timo Werner.

Sure but I don't think it's just quality we're talking about here. He faced good defenses in the buli and he didn't seem this inefficient
Havertz has been decent but hasn't exactly set the world on fire.
He seems to perform when it matters most tho
He litteraly scored the winning goal in cl final
Does that mean he's been great?
Yes even if he died the day after thats a good transfer
COBRA KAIII
great show btw
Always dies
Havertz looked amazing so far wtf
Rip Lukaku I guess
https://mobile.twitter.com/joelembiid/status/1491844094343237632
rip bozo
Lmao who was this in response to
Simmons getting traded to the Nets
and then when the press asked him about it he said it was unrelated and he just liked his style lmao
He met the guy from the meme at the all star game and took a photo with him lmao
Troel Embiid indeed
It’s hilarious man https://www.instagram.com/p/CaQoA7WNcEi/?utm_medium=copy_link
Lmao that is unreal. I fucking love joel
That tweet is on the sports Twitter Mount Rushmore imo
knew what it was before i clicked it
I will die on this hill, Havertz is a good player and would play every second if I was a manager. He’s just so clean in his control and passing.
Reminds so much of Ballack but even more fluid.
He needs to become more consistent, but I think that will come with experience. On his day, he is ridiculously fun to watch and capable of some really brilliant things.
LUKAKWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Romelu. Big belgian lad. Remember him?
Nah bro that's Benteke. He's talking about the tall striker who used to play for Everton
Nah i think you mean that west brom lad
Aint that the liverpool legend
U mean 🐍
U mean Yakubu? Or maybe Victor Anichebe?
Nah probably that wee Scottish lad Duncan Ferguson
If its Belgian must be Fellaini
The Inter fan.
LuKaiHavertz
Most supporting Chelsea fan
after an interview like that he can fuck off, I'm not going to defend him if he's not arsed himself
Yes
3rd time’s the charm!
That’s our centre forward! He’s been everywhere 700 touches so far
[удалено]
Playing without a certain someone 👀
Fr imagine how much scarier we’d be with Barkley on the pitch
As long as its preseason Barkley. Once he hits 4-5 games, hes spent.
Nah we look scary with our wingbacks. Now I would say back at our level.
I don't know if Tuchel has some Balck magic or something but we always look majestic in UCL.
Our play style is perfect for this competition
Play style fits it and English clubs are a cut above everyone else at the moment.
well after the goal we did essentially nothing LOL
3rd chance is the charm
Havertz has been incredible despite the miss
I'm no expert but I reckon Chelsea should stick with this lad up top.
THANK YOU LEVERKUSEN!!
3 things are inevitable. Death, taxes and Kai havertz scoring an important goal
He does well everywhere except prem
He definitely has the potential to have a hazard-esque impact for Chelsea (he's already had some truly spectacular moments) but he needs to bulk up a little bit for the PL
He doesn't need to bulk up. A big guy bulking up is how you get Lukaku
KING KAI ON FIRE
Hell yes, use that tall frame more
havertz haaland mbappe debate settled /s
Goals today Havertz - 1 Haaland - 0 MBappe - 0
Ballon D'or confirmed
KAIzer
Havertz only plays for big KO moments. Not small time league games.
You know it's a good one when he properly celebrates, what a start for the lad
Kai has to be our 9. He’s best there and we play better with him there. City and Liverpool don’t play with a traditional striker
Honest question because i dont watch him a lot but wasnt he kinda bad as a 9 last year and more comfortable as a 10? Whaz changed? He was really good as a 9 today
nope, his best position last year was also as false 9
What a start of the game he had. So dangerous
Kai with more chances in 8 minutes than Lukaku all of last few games
Very nice game for him
Not that false of a 9 today
Kai is made for the Champions League
Kai loves playing in the Champions League !
Big game player
We a re looking so fluid..
cl chelsea
RELOADD ITTT
THIRD TIME LUCKY!!!
He’s been playing very well Well deserved for Kai
Could've had a hat trick already, this kid is a monster
Zero defense
I love him so much
Great header by Havertz but Lille will be passed he's that free so early.
Rip
The Anti Lukaku. Decent in normal games, world class in actually important games
Havertz is so goddamn underrated, while Lukaku is overrated. Idc what anyone says, Havertz is more dangerous.
That didn’t take long!
Lukaku in Shambles
Havertz started like a man possessed
We better playing with Kai next against Liverpool if we want to score goals
imagine if we’ve had Kai as our false 9 this whole time we should have trusted his development
Big game player
He's been insane this game
Sorry mate dusan scored quickest
Wich one
Habibi I miss you :(
i like how whenever ziyech takes a corner the ucl camera crew gives him the coldest camera shots ever
FK OFF LAKAKA
absolutely LOVE to see it
Fucking love Kai, get tf in son!
The German Lukaku
My Kai!
More touches already than lukaku last game!
Get fucked, Lakaka!
Romewho?
This was so predictable lol. The performance, the goal. All of it. This club is so funny.
I play Dream league on mobile and Havertz is a great header of the ball there too lmao
He wanna be Vlahović so bad 💀
Havertz has already done more for Chelsea than any other player since Drogba, change my mind
Hazard
Third time’s a charm
3rd time's a charm
One of them was bound to go in
And that’s the end of it, early goal fc
well.. Lets hope it's not gonna be a slaughter
Big game player
Ayo everyone is already scoring wth
So lively!! And the work rate
