It isn't a number of seasons thing but the impact. Rvp was signed to win Sir Alex's last trophy , and he did just that. Not to take anything away from Cavani but his impact pales in comparison imo
OP literally said IF he goes on to win big things with the club. RVP hadn’t done shit with the club prior to doing what he was signed for and he’s considered a legend.
If we win a league with him, I promise you as someone who's been watching Utd since I was a baby, he'll get the legend status just for how likeable he is. Honestly it's rare that we as a fanbase are so taken with a player. Even Bruno was more divisive than Cavani, and you've got to remember that when he first came in most of the fans were outraged. He's so likeable that he went from a player that hardly anyone wanted to probably the most widely loved player by the utd fan base other than maybe Rashford.
Even hilarious that the commentators need to apologize for all the swearing that the players and managers do. I'll never get the point of that, they only draw more attention to it.
This seems to be the popular opinion here but to be honest with you I couldn't stand the dead silent matches before the soundboard became a thing. Hearing managers is nice but the match just feels so dead and unimportant even if it's a Champions League final.
Obviously nothing compared to real crowds, but I liked it as a band aid solution.
So, the official PL website has given the assist to De gea. does this mean that we're seen the first time that a instituition admits a referee mistake in real time?
The guy who was considered for the second place can have a great game in the last game (Like that game where Lewandowski scored 5 goals in like 10 minutes) That might change some opinions.
Our awards night (and I assume most others) usually takes place before the end of the season so that players don’t have to stick around for it (or miss it completely I guess).
Which of course is complete bollocks, as Mata should've won both.
Great team goal, great acrobatic finish, in the biggest derby of them all in English football? Shouldn't've been close.
his reaction is so genuine too, like, ofc he's going to be stoked scoring a wonder goal, but being able to celebrate in front of the fans probably made it feel 10 times better
I saw Zlatan's 500th for my first game. It's a special feeling to see a Puskas nominated goal and have 8 different people score, and have your team win.
Idk man... I don’t think he does touch it but they ruled that they can’t be certain that he didn’t and therefore it’s not a “clear and obvious error” and the original call (goal given) stands.
Honestly, I've been sat here thinking Bruno is going to try and force a banger to give the fans a treat, and actually it's been Cavani planning it all along haha
Could have even seen that Bruno didnt touch it in one of those angles you know
Edit: meaningless game though, so I'm rather glad the goal stood lol so happy to see Cavani banging them in for fun like he used to!
Mate, this is a great example of how bad the refs are in England. They didn't even check whether Bruno touched it, did they?
Maybe he did, I just haven't seen it.

That is outrageous (and sounds much better with 10k real fans cheering it compared to a soundboard)
What a way to introduce himself to the fans! He'll be treated like royalty if he performs next season like this.

What curse? Number 7?
Yeah, our recent 7s haven’t lived up to the expectations
Alright interesting! Good to have the curse lifted
The magnificent 7 are back!
Yeah players like Di Maria, Sanchez and Depay were terrible while wearing #7 and it's been like that since CR7
In Sporting se have same curse that Numbers 7 , but for us is after figo
So do we at Real Madrid but it's too soon to judge
Valencia was better when he was wearing 25 as well.
A legend? No chance, considering the actual legends you have
Yeah you dont become a legend in 2 seasons lmao
RvP became one in a single season.
It isn't a number of seasons thing but the impact. Rvp was signed to win Sir Alex's last trophy , and he did just that. Not to take anything away from Cavani but his impact pales in comparison imo

You have to win PL or CL for him to be a legend. And he’d have to carry hard, like RVP did. United isn’t a club lacking legend status players.
What I meant by big things yeah
Fucking hell. I know we're living in bizarre times but to think that this is the first time he's played in front of the fans is crazy.
The fake crowd is the worst thing to come out of the pandemic, other than the 3 million deaths
100% I prefer hearing managers and players yell instead of a fake crowd celebrating a scene that happened 2 minutes ago
It’s somewhat humanising hearing one of the players cursing out their teammates, etc. during a game
Even hilarious that the commentators need to apologize for all the swearing that the players and managers do. I'll never get the point of that, they only draw more attention to it.
*"FUCKING SWITCH ON!!!"* Love Slabhead.
Made me laugh.

I hated it but I can't bring myself to pay attention to the silent matches.
This is contagious.
So, the official PL website has given the assist to De gea. does this mean that we're seen the first time that a instituition admits a referee mistake in real time?
if they really give de gea the assist then yeah. fitting, though, isn‘t it?
They give but took if off lol I just checked myself before and now
well, this is telling, isn‘t it?
im so confused rn
Why sorry? Was he off when de gea hit it?
Yes, 5+ yards offside. If Bruno touched it he's onside.
the sooner people realise we make our own the rules the easier it'll be for them
I thought people realised that like 25 years ago when they started going on about Fergie Time lol
[удалено]
It was on here before in the match thread on the PL website. Its been changed to a Fernandes assist now: https://www.premierleague.com/match/59261
unlucky to score that after we announce the goal of the season WOW
he did the same lob vs PSG and hit the bar when we were 1-1 :(. I fucking love Edi
Psg had some mad magic shit that game
[удалено]
>Yeah Martial missed a quasi-tap in 5 minutes before, and missed the rebound from this one. That's not magic though
It is independant of PSG, so from they point of view it is
> mad magic shit You mean Martial shit finishing yeah?
Did the same against Roma. Third time lucky.
Its so dumb that they name player of the season and goal of the season before the end of the year. Should be after the final game
Player of the season I can understand, unlikely one match will change that. But obviously something like the best goal could happen any game.
The guy who was considered for the second place can have a great game in the last game (Like that game where Lewandowski scored 5 goals in like 10 minutes) That might change some opinions.
Tbh why would you announce it now? You still have a final to play as well.
Our awards night (and I assume most others) usually takes place before the end of the season so that players don’t have to stick around for it (or miss it completely I guess).
Just saying we announced it too early holy fucking shit
No idea why they don't wait till the season is actually over
Wins PL goal of the season, doesn't win United goal of the season, that's going to baffle some people in a few years.
Already happened in 14-15 when Di Maria lob vs Leicester won PL goal of the season but MU goal of the season was Mata scissor kick at Anfield
Which of course is complete bollocks, as Mata should've won both. Great team goal, great acrobatic finish, in the biggest derby of them all in English football? Shouldn't've been close.
Especially as I think Man U lost the Leicester game anyway (5 - 3). Takes the shine off the goal somewhat.
So why exactly do they announce goal of the season before seasons ended???
Yeah bloody he’ll that’s easily number 1
[удалено]
What do you think
lol'd at this one
He has a fair point, malcom was announced on roma’s social media before barcelona hijacked the move
The trophy has already been presented to Bruno before this game and all so...no, I guess not.
Scenes "sorry Bruno we're gonna need that award back"
How's _THAT_ for a first goal in front of fans!?
his reaction is so genuine too, like, ofc he's going to be stoked scoring a wonder goal, but being able to celebrate in front of the fans probably made it feel 10 times better
Pretty similar to your last goal in front of fans, funnily enough
Mctominay 's goal was the last one? Fuck, it's been too long.
Oh damn
Edinson Cavani, a man who knows how to welcome fans for sure, fuck me what a goal
Oh my fucking god
Imagine being there to see that. First game back. Wow Thank fuck VAR didn’t take this away.
The crowd being back made that a fucking religious experience.
#GIVE IT GIVE IT GIVE IT TO EDIII CAVAANIII
He passing the ball, he scoring the goal!
###PASS HIM THE BALL
I saw Zlatan's 500th for my first game. It's a special feeling to see a Puskas nominated goal and have 8 different people score, and have your team win.
It actually should’ve been taken away if Bruno didn’t touch it I believe.
Yeah, but the replay just now shows that Bruno slightly touched it.
Idk man... I don’t think he does touch it but they ruled that they can’t be certain that he didn’t and therefore it’s not a “clear and obvious error” and the original call (goal given) stands.
This is how VAR should work, even if it often doesn't
I agree that it should work like this but I’d also be annoyed if I was a Fulham fan because it hardly ever gets actually applied correctly like this.
Yeah exactly, it's the inconsistency which is the problem
Who needs Kane
tottenham
Levy
true
What the fuck just happened
Unfuckingbelievable
Vamoooossss
Assist for De gea
Must have been given to Bruno cause cavani was offside when de gea played it
No, it's either offside or assist for Bruno
Then it's offside. Doesn't look like Fernandes touches it
Gets a tiny flick off his stud on the replay
Someway to welcome the fans back
MADNESS MATE
ABSOLUTE MADNESS!!!!
AUDACIOUS
Fuck me I'm crying
I still can't work out if people say this as a meme or if they actually are crying.
As if he went for that lol
What defensive formation are we playing.
Really makes no sense. Are you playing with one centre-half?
Sort of? Ream is playing wide and Lemina is slotting into the back.
WITH CROWDS ASWELL!!
I wonder if he would have made the same decision in an empty stadium or if having fans back inspired him to try something cheeky.
He tried the same against PSG and hit the crossbar
I've tried to block that match from my memory.
Understantable, have a nice day
Honestly, I've been sat here thinking Bruno is going to try and force a banger to give the fans a treat, and actually it's been Cavani planning it all along haha
Bruno is saving it for a 90th minute penalty due to mistake by VAR - giving United fans what they really want.
He needs to stay. The crowd would have erupted if it was full Edit: Se queda!
This comment has been overwritten by a Tampermonkey script
He already extented, mate
I mean, he is staying
It was fucking written, wasn't it?
VAR Decision: Filthy
I mean if I was a ref I’d probably just go to Var to catch a few more angles of the beauty
Could have even seen that Bruno didnt touch it in one of those angles you know Edit: meaningless game though, so I'm rather glad the goal stood lol so happy to see Cavani banging them in for fun like he used to!
Var; what we was meant to check that?
Feels like he's done that to Areola in training before
He can do that to my areolas all he likes
WHAT A GOAL
THE SWEETEST LOB
I’d buy this NFT
Don’t give the Glazers ideas
PSG had this up before Cavani had even started his knee slide
He’s actually John Titor
Is that Degea assist
De Gea assist makes it 5 yards offside.
And he's awarded the assist!
You can fuck up a game but don’t mess up fantasy football
Don't get me wrong I'd hate to see a goal like that ruled out but why is that not offside? Fernandes didn't touch it, or did he?
According to the PL app it’s a De Gea assist
Lol, then it has to be offside, as Cavani was clearly off. Hey, I won't complaint though.
Yeah they just showed a replay on Sky and hes clearly not touched it.
The web says Bruno now.
Crowds back, Old Trafford refereeing back
My best guess is VAR couldn't tell if he touched it or not and went with the on-field call.
Yeah can only assume. Weird that they made that decision so quickly though.
[удалено]
It's 100% offside to me, what did I miss?
Must’ve thought that Bruno touched it, but it looks like he didn’t so yeah 100% offsides when De Gea played it. Lucky there
You missed refereeing and VAR in England. The rules are made up and the calls don't matter.
The fucking goons didn't check whether Bruno touched it, I genuinely didn't see a touch.
No idea mate. VAR has fluffed it IMO.
OH MY FUCKING GOD
How the fuck are you this fast? I'm watching it live and it just happened. What a goal! Pure genius! I'm glad this man has extended!
Python
Time travelling snakes. That explains it!
goal of the season contender that
HOW HAS HE DONE IT FROM THERE?
MAGICAL CAVANI!! WHAT A HIT BY EDINSON CAVANI!!
Keepers miles off his line?
WTF
Is there an angle where you can see B. Fernandes touching the ball? If he doesn't touch it, it should be offside, right?
I think it's the fact they can't tell so they can't overrule
yeah thats the way id want var to run too. weird they gave the assist to de gea though. cause if its a de gea assist then the goal is offside

Why do i still feel the need to click and check this link everytime
A goal worthy of this image.
Apparently all goals are because it's posted in every thread
BERBATOV IS THAT YOU?
Holy fuck
PENG
Worth the wait for those fans!
That was pure, unadulterated sex.
Does Bruno even touch this? It looked off if he didn't
Going to name my first born cavani now
I'm sorry but shouldn't that be offside? Looked like Fernandes didn't touch it
I was thinking the same thing, not sure how VAR missed that...
I AM SCREAMING RN WHAT A BEAUTY
FUUUUUCKKKKK no better goal at Stretford End
Ridiculous goal
Imagine having this level of talent at anything
How was that not offside?
It was lol. Of all the bullshit offsides VAR give, they’ve shit the bed and missed an actual offside here.
Mate, this is a great example of how bad the refs are in England. They didn't even check whether Bruno touched it, did they? Maybe he did, I just haven't seen it.
Was going to have a wank as the mrs has just gone out but now I don't need too
HOLY FUCK!!
Great goal but he was offside. Fernandes clearly doesn’t touch it
Inch perfect
what a fucking boss
hell of a goal, but offside surely?
Goal was amazing, but shout out to the OP, who provided a proper clip. Real-time, replay, slow-mo in different angle.
What a goal in front of fans
So... We just gonna ignore Fernandes not touching that and Cavani being offside?
Yep
