vadapaav

My man you got sent off first

LucozadeBottle1pCoin

To be fair Mitrovic's outburst was much worse.

Jay_TThomas

And the red to an outfield player has much more of an impact

rredditttooorr

My man forgot his own red card.

AyanC

So should you, mate.

Sal21G

All Willian had to do was just not use his hand lmao. That butterfly effect was wild

Tim-Sanchez

I don't really blame Willian, it's a situation where arguably the penalty + red is worth the risk. He didn't really argue either. I have no idea why Mitrovic took it on himself to act like an idiot.

KenHumano

He couldn't even have the time to weight the pros and cons, reflex reaction probably, even if it's not worth it it's understandable. Mitrovic, however...

TimathanDuncan

> He didn't really argue either. He was actually arguing multiple times that he used his chest

GameplayerStu

I mean yeah you always have to chance your arm in situations like that even when you know you're wrong

Tim-Sanchez

Before he got the red he was like any player would, but after he got the red he didn't argue. He just tried to grab Mitrovic away.

ScrantonStrangler28

I think it was pure instinct. Which makes it intentional but he didn't really have control over it.

Malvania

All Willian had to do was act like he was falling down

irgendwo_anders

Act like he got shot Steven Taylor style https://youtu.be/vl3HnU0HOhk May not actually work

ScrantonStrangler28

Aha the all fours on the ground handball?

starxidiamou

All Willian had to do was wear a Utd kit

PickledCumSock

i don't think willian had enough time to think it through that much. the ref obviously made the right call and if united pulled that move on fullham they'd be demanding the same (penalty + red), but who i actually blame is mitrovic bc he had several chances to calm down & not act like an idiot. i understand the adrenaline is high in that moment but he had time to pull back a little, it was such a weird exchange. all he had to do was stay quiet.

Elemayowe

If Sancho just took the shot earlier when he should’ve done, none of this would’ve happened. 1-1 11v11 and Fulham probably do us in ET.

_RM78

Yeah, but why score a goal when you can send three of them off and get a pen and then win 3-1? What exactly is your point?

Elemayowe

The butterfly effect of Sancho being shit in front of goal leading to a ridiculously favourable outcome. Like the OP said, butterfly effect.

einnor81

It was all in Sancho plan. He waited till the last moment for the handball to happen. He's from the future

ninjapenguin12

Mitro should control his emotions says the man who got sent off 1st for not controlling them

blazexi

The push could have been a penalty but 9 times out of 10, that isn’t given. Second one was never a penalty. Silva should follow his own advice.

Thor1138

>but 9 times out of 10, that isn’t given Exactly, but I get downvoted when I say this lol... I don't think I've ever seen a penalty given for that and if they did give those, we'd have one every single match...

herkalurk

There was pushing and shoving all over that pitch all game that wasn't called. For as strong as Mitrovic is he became quite fragile in those situations in an attempt to get the ref to call something.

Bulky-Yam4206

>Mitrovic should control his emotions. Let me lead by example - Silva. (idiot)

Kardinale

He's having a laugh if he wants those two scenarios given as pens

ChiliConCairney

Everyone is so certain that the Luke Shaw push wasn't a pen yet not one person has seen an actual replay of it

pork_chop_expressss

[Here we go - pulled from the replay](https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif)

Appropriate_Lack_727

That’s one of those situations where Shaw obviously shoves Mitrovic in the back and interferes with his header, but you just know they aren’t going to call it for some reason. Sometimes the rules of this sport just seem like they’re interpreted on the fly every weekend.

Feezbull

Oh like the penalties we got awarded against us and other clear penalties not given nor fouls even when we had a case for them? I see.

[deleted]

Feezbull

Liverpool fans crying about league titles coz you won one in 33 years with your best decade lately showing about the same as United in our current worst period since a long time ago.

[deleted]

yzct

Are you really slagging someone off for not being a United fan 30-40 odd years ago when it’s likely they weren’t even born yet? lmfao

Feezbull

26 is less than 33 no? Pretty sure. Also. Your best decade saw you win 2 trophies. Our worst in ages saw us still win trophies… Enjoy 7-0. It’s the highlight of your season that sees you… behind United anyway.

Aloopyn

Don’t know why this was downvoted, facts

serennow

If that was in the other box it would have been described on here as a stone wall pen.

Fisktor

Are you saying thar r/soccer would be on united side?

JamminPT

That's a pen all day, everyday.

RefereeMason

Do you have a replay?

ChiliConCairney

No lol. They never broadcast one. I'm dying to see it. I'm not even saying it was definitely a pen, just that we have no real way of knowing. Should see the evidence before we have an opinion on it

bestofboth96

I'm honestly convinced they try to sometimes not show a reply if its a ref fuck-up

FuckOffBoJo

https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif Here you go. Would be a ridiculous penalty IMO

Corteaux81

Ridiculous? Why? Shaw pushes an attacked aboit to head the ball in the back? It’s a clear foul, 100%.

SofaKingI

Why would that be a ridiculous penalty? You're telling me defenders can just push an attacker jumping in the back to the point where they change direction mid air, and it's not a foul?

Smaggies

It's clearly a penalty.

serennow

Denied a header on goal by committing a clear foul…

sefronia3

They showed it on my stream. Wasn't a pen

pork_chop_expressss

[Only thing I could find, and it isn't much.](https://i.imgur.com/4jtLwTj.jpg)

vivucali

Time stamp?

ChiliConCairney

Appreciate it. That looks pretty suspect

Orageux101

My guy called suspect on one frame. What a lion!

ChiliConCairney

"Looks suspect" ≠ "I think it's definitely a penalty". Defenders arms are extended out to his back and it looks like he's pushing him. I'd like to see more evidence based on the aforementioned suspicions Jesus FUCKING Christ this sub sometimes...

Hannay39

My guy calls not suspect on one frame, what a lion!

Orageux101

I didn't make any determination on it, come on lad. Good try though!

ThePrussianGrippe

They used the ***ENHANCE*** function!

Rackmo

That's what they do for VAR foul replays anyways don't they

ejtv

Yeah. Wont be surprised if pen was given there. Sometimes you get the calls, sometimes you dont. Fulham played well for 70mins. Surprised they decided to throw it away.

Predditin

And VAR conveniently didn't even look at it 🤔

ChiliConCairney

VAR checks everything; it seems like they wait for a stoppage in play to do a proper "review" and if that doesn't happen (there was none for like 5 minutes after the incident) they just decide too much time has passed to call it back

Predditin

VAR doesn't check everything and unfortunately misses things due to "human error" - see apology to Arsenal over Brentford draw.

JiveTurkey688

VAR checked it

ModcatTom

Oddly enough we got denied a goal against Fulham for a 'push' quite similar to that.

WakoJako

True true against Utd you need to be killed to have a chance for a pen

oscar88463

Yeah because Bruno definitely killed Balde against Barcelona to be awarded a penalty… speaking out your arse

WaluigisHat

The 1st one on Mitrovic probably should be a penalty but those pushes happen to every team a million times a season and only about 3 ever get called as fouls. The second one he throws himself to the ground. You and your team shit the bed mate, we all watched it on the telly.

ChiliConCairney

I think this is the correct take (specifically about the penalty decisions) and definitely that we have no one to blame but ourselves

herkalurk

At 1-1 10v11 Fulham could have held out till penalties, and at that point it's a crap shoot. Also losing Mitro cause he went crazy cost Fulham the possibility of winning that one.

SofaKingI

>those pushes happen to every team a million times a season and only about 3 ever get called as fouls. And everytime they happen outside of the box, it's a foul. I feel like he still has the right to complain about that. It should be a penalty. It may be a bit soft, but defenders can't do that without any sort of punishment.

ScrantonStrangler28

Attackers also do it in the box all the time and it rarely gets called a foul.

Los1985

"Mitrovic should control his emotions" Says man who couldn't control his emotions.

JiveTurkey688

Neither of those were even close to penalties, and the second one was clear dive. He lost the right to complain with his behaviour

alwaysneedsahand

The push is an obvious penalty, you're letting your bias show

JiveTurkey688

When I commented I had only seen it live and it looked like Mitrovic made a meal of the contact. After watching a replay, I tend to agree with the overarching opinion I have seen, which is that it could have been given but that kind of contact often isn't given as a penalty. If it's given in real-time, VAR isnt overturning it, but if not it is not a clear and obvious error. I also still think Mitrovic made a meal of it. Stand by that it is deflection after an embarrassing self-destruction by the Manager, also.

alwaysneedsahand

It's obviously a penalty. The missed penalty doesn't excuse the subsequent meltdown.

vivucali

Time stamps?

vivucali

The push is at 2.30.. seems like a soft penalty if given..But can be a penalty too..

Lpurchase

2:30 of what video?

vivucali

Of the match.

SpeechesToScreeches

The game time...

herkalurk

Amazing to me how strong Mitro is until it's in the box....

Elemayowe

I don’t even remember the Shaw one, anyone got a clip? The tangle of legs with Martinez is never a pen though surely.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SpeechesToScreeches

Seeing it live it looked like there was barely any force in it. They happen multiple times every game. Considering there was an elbow being thrown into Bruno while he jumped and that wasn't even a foul also.

SofaKingI

>it looked like there was barely any force in it You should see it again. The gif has been posted all over the thread, including in the comment right below yours. Mitrovic changes direction mid air. There was definitely force in it.

FuckOffBoJo

https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif Incident here, would be ridiculously harsh. Comparing the hand ball and this is crazy by Silva

RiverGyoll

Congrats on the gif

besthijacker89

Can't believe people are defending this behavior. Casemiro got sent off for less.

Gobshiight

Wait, what does casemiro have to do with this

_RM78

Sancho literally made 2 of our 3 goals today

Fresh2Desh

The result is going to hurt me for many years tbh Nothing but ourselves to blame

cryppin_crypper

Hahaha this man is pissed

SHYN3R

a team with man child’s

OhNoIMadeAnAccount

Didn't some hit Maguire in the head just before the corner they scored from? he was grappling them like a dickhead like he always does and they seemed to deck him. No replay though

Axbris

Tete. Exactly what I was trying to find it, but somehow Marco Silva seems to have probably "not seen it" as so often these managers do not see the shit their players do.

_RM78

If I was a milk monitor and performed like this clown, then got pulled up by HR for a chat and spewed this nonsense... I'd be sacked on the spot. As a milk monitor. Just lol.

dispelthemyth

Is there a replay of the push? I missed it as was in the groUnd and didn’t see it

Bulky-Yam4206

PSGacademy has uploaded one on reddit, check the hot posts.

Internetwielder

Can you link it? Can’t see it anywhere, not on his profile either

FuckOffBoJo

https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif

dispelthemyth

Thanks, will do

ChiliConCairney

Think they mean the push on Mitro that was a penalty shout, and I don't think there's any footage of that

_RM78

I've never seen a "manager" as rattled as this. Like, who even is he? He's literally auditioning for xFactor in 2009 or something. What a loser.

Craven1879

plastic crying hahahahahaha

limaconnect77

Would it be such a loss to the sport if, say, the relevant governing bodies decided “ya know what, it’s just Fulham, plus can’t have players manhandling refs on TV - just ban the little shit for the rest of the season to send a message”.

The_Polite_Debater

>ya know what, it’s just Fulham, Treating teams that aren't the big 6 like a whipping child is the stupidest idea I've ever heard

cpmb82

That would be fine, if they’d done something about Bruno pushing the linesman the other week

Craven1879

American plastic talking about football hahaha

Chedchee2

What pathetic leadership. Imagine your boss fucking up in work, then talking about it with such teflon shoulders.

herkalurk

2 situations in the box where this striker who's been pushing and shoving all game goes over like a leaf when it's in the box. Ref let pushing and shoving go all game, this penalty was neither and you're grasping.

ayushtoo

He is right about the Shaw push though that was blatant

FuckOffBoJo

Least biased arsenal fan. Imagine thinking this is a stonewall penalty https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif

Internetwielder

Dude. Please look at the Bruno clip again, same with Mitro. Now you’re just being willfully obtuse

Mackieeeee

Username and flair checkouts for sure

Predditin

Only Bruno Fernandez is allowed to push Officials and get away with it

Hasta_Mithun

Lol watch that incident Bruno is in rush to get ball. Trent is fucking with him as everyone would do in that situation. Assistant pats him on back Bruno slightly nudges him to get past him and go to where ball was it was more of get aside I want to get ball quickly. No way both situation are same. It can be a yellow card for sure.

Subbutton

https://youtube.com/shorts/vExtNbuRs-o?feature=share Assistant literally hinders him from getting the ball

Hasta_Mithun

I mean Assistant has no business touching him or pulling him especially given the match situation even then it wasn't much of aggression he barely shouted or abused him just pushed him away to get ball and it ended there. Whereas Mitro was fully at Ref face with intention to be aggressive with him and even pushed him to complete his buffoonery.

optimized_happiness

Man U fans won’t be spamming 4000 comments + 20K upvotes on the Luke Shaw push on Mitrovic that was missed though

Walliii

Kind of hard to even comment on it when it hasn't even been posted to reddit. Looks like you and Marco Silva are the only ones who think it was even remotely a penalty.

FuckOffBoJo

Because it wasn't a penalty. https://i.imgur.com/hjtkbpL.gif

Internetwielder

Didn’t watch the first half, and haven’t seen it, so bear with me, but… How come nobody has posted a clip of this? People usually jump at the chance to claim that United is getting preferential treatment, yet no one is posting something a couple of people are calling a clear-cut penalty? Pretty fucking weird

crazy_waffles1

It's true get ready for all the replies with the man united flairs

[deleted]

Hasta_Mithun

Lol red card for that 😂😂😂

vivucali

Anyone know what time stamps they were?

Dewey-Needham

Fulham had the game in their hand, and even at 1-1 I wouldn’t have been confident we’d go through. Extra time was the last thing we needed. It wasn’t the ref that fucked it for them, they did it to themselves.

That-Security9642
