Americans on this facebook group called „I love my Polish heritage” are too funny man

like what is this 💀
Never start playing football mananger. You'll never thank me for that, but if you don't follow the tip, you'll think that you should have listened to me earlier
I just found out Lance Reddick died. I'm devastated. He was THE voice of Destiny, probably my favorite game ever, and his character was so well written and had depth. He was such a big fan of the game too. Shit my Saturday has been ruined already
As sad as I am about it (The Wire being my absolute favourite show of all time) it was really cool seeing so many communities on Reddit show their love for the guy.
Yeah, surprisingly so. You won’t think it looking at the synopsis. With this and Reacher, Amazon are great at murder mystery shows with single word titles.
Does anyone have a sitcom that is kind of relatable and just in general fun to watch like it's not too exaggerated or forced humor.
Something similar to Friends maybe
Always been a big parks and recreation fan, but it’s a bit more plot driven than friends.
I can see that if you aren’t American though you might find the characters quite exaggerated
I’m aware that Reddit has a dislike towards the Big Bang theory, but I’m finishing the second season and I think it’s a great series so far. I don’t know if it’s similar to friends however
Thought I'd just post something I've been watching, reading etc lately
Started reading "The Brothers Karamazov" Dostoyevsky. Just finished the first half of the book, absolutely astounding so far. I can't wait to see what happens next.
I haven't watched much TV this week, but Vinland Saga has been good. It's a drastic change from the last season, but it's still incredibly well done and so beautiful. Also, I also seen the new "Cunk" documentary, and that was genuinely hilarious, haha
I'm listening to the new Paramore album, and I honestly didn't expect a lot, but this has been really good. Feel like they’re one of the few that have aged well. The only bad thing about it is that it's just 36 minutes long. Liar just hits so hard, man. idk
FM has been my main game for a bit now, and I'm really enjoy it, especially the part where I get absolutely smashed because I always leave my FBs on attack. I have just started playing, and I'm doing a United Save. All good expect I keep getting smashed by Liverpool...
Some Rome TW too here and there, but that's just a game I pick from time to time and never really quit, haha
Does anybody here know about analog (film) photography? I’m looking to buy my first camera and have narrowed my options down to a few. I was mainly looking at point and shoots but I found an SLR locally for a good price so idk
You know what's pretty cool? Comparing a music to its acoustic version.
Exhibit A: [Miracle - Rise Against](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur-hR7SvvLk). Now this song, to me, sounds cherry and optimistic - carpe diem, kick ass. [Miracle - Rise Against (Ghost Notes Symphonies Vol 1)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj1YlDceAcQ). This is the acoustic version. To me, this sounds more reflective - something you'd play in the dark on a cool summer night or watching the stars.
Exhibit B: [You're Going Down - Sick Puppies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liW-kWFiXtQ). To me, this sounds like a song to pump yourself up for a massive battle. [Here's the acoustic version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu3Gvp2PRDc). To me, it sounds like it's written by a guy who is ready to fight but lost all emotions. In a sense, psychotic.
I've always been a massive fan of the MTV Unplugged albums. The Nirvana, Petal Jam and Alice in Chains ones are god tier to me.
I'll check out those tunes tomorrow when I'm out and about, I know the bands but not the songs.
Did a lot of driving for work. Drove a total of 184 miles (296 km). I'd love to go out to the bar for Saint Patrick's Day but I'm exhausted and it's raining.
Everyday I get more interested in microdosing but I'm not sure where to start. I looked up online about buying spores but I kept on getting spore syringes and I don't want to deal with needles.
I really can't go into the specifics without getting my comment removed but I buy my shrooms from the dark web. I also have a pedestrian weed grinder for the caps and veggie capsules.
I recently read a transcript of an old interview. The interviewer asked him if he'd want to live on the moon and he declined because he's afraid of heights. He has this profound authentic levity thats compelling
It's crazy how sometimes we make mistakes over several months and manage to completely convince ourselves that we're making the right call. I graduated uni top or second in my class, they didn't specify, and pressured myself into getting a job because "that's what you do when you finish uni". I've now been working in London since November and it hasn't been bad.
Most of my friends in the meantime are either finishing off master's degrees or their third year now, almost all my close friends are still at uni. I went and visited a couple weeks back and it just made it clear how dumb I was to rush my life so much. I should've stayed down for another year and just enjoyed my youth a bit more. In hindsight, I always knew I was making a mistake, a fact that was almost explicitly pointed out to me by my parents at one point as a matter of fact.
I don't hate London by any means, I quite enjoy it, however I can't help but be slightly upset with myself knowing that I could've been happier had I stayed down for another year. It is what it is. This has been a great learning experience, should've followed my heart this time around. Oh well.
At the same time, they’re probably green with envy over the fact they’ve been broke students whilst you’re living it up in London. Finding a job after graduation is so daunting and you’ve sorted that part out already. Everything in perspective
i won my workplace Oscars predictions game 👍 it was actually one of the most predictable Oscars in years, even though i’ve only watched a fraction of the films
Weekly round up of what I've been watching, reading, listening to, and playing - what about you guys?
Started watching **Perry Mason** as I saw it being recommended on Reddit a bit and have really enjoyed it so far. Have one episode to go in the first season which will hopefully finish today. Production values are absolutely top notch- it looks incredible. Story is good too. An easy 8/10 for me.
Also watched **Aftersun** with the wife last weekend and I've still not recovered. Definitely not for everyone but for me, it's one of the best movies I've seen and probably hit me harder than anything else I've watched. Both the leads were brilliant and it's direction and editing is just perfect. I have absolutely no idea why this wasn't in the running for a lot more awards at the Oscars. 10/10.
I mentioned I was reading **Shogun** last week and while I'm still plugging away at it I felt like I needed a break and picked up **No Country For Old Men**. After reading a few pages you immediately realise two things; Cormac McCarthy is one of the best writers of his generation and the Coen brothers had their easiest job in creating a screenplay.
I haven't listened to much this week sadly but quite liked the new **slowthai** album. Never Again and Sooner were the standout tracks for me.
As always, been playing **Football Manager**. Started a save with Deportivo and managed to get back to back promotions so we're now back in La Liga. I always find the transfer window prior to being promoted as the best part of the game- love me some w[h](https://media.tenor.com/qu2XjRAelJQAAAAC/harry-redknapp.gif)eeling and dealing.
Also got the Ubisoft gamepass thing because I wanted to play a few of their games but didn't fancy ponying up a few hundred via steam. Glad I did because I didn't warm to Far Cry 6 or Anno 1800 at all. I always think I'll like Far Cry but every time I play I realise I hate the silliness they always add. Plus it gave me motion sickness for some reason. As for Anno, I don't know, I quite like city building games but there was something I just really didn't like about it. I didn't give it a fair go though. I also got **Assassin's Creed Valhalla** because I liked Odyssey. I know it's not really rated but I'm having fun.
Been watching Sopranos, finished s5 now, first rewatch and enjoying it more than I did before. Nathan for you, still find this the funniest show I’ve ever seen despite multiple rewatches. Below Deck Mediterranean, elite reality tv.
Playing borderlands 3, story is crap but gameplay is fun. Finished the story and all dlcs, got to max level but cba to grind out equipment to do the super late game stuff so probably gonna move on to something else
I started watching Vikings a couple days ago. I’ve been looking for stuff to watch after that but honestly have been struggling to find. Like shows that are kinda set in the history but with some supernatural element(Game Of Thrones, Vikings, etc)
Started reading **Termination Shock**. Always been a Stephenson fan since I stumbled into Cryptonomicon. That was about eight years ago and since I’ve read SevenEves twice, Anathem, reamde, The Baroque Cycle twice, Snow Crash, The Mongoliad and The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. However the last two of his I tried (Fall and The Diamond Age) I just couldn’t get through. About 100 pages in and liking this new one so far, I got the physical book from the library but then got the e-book from them which is clutch as it’s my preferred way of reading.
Started watching **Friday Night Lights - Season 2** tbh it’s not as horrible as I remember, still looking forward to Michael B. Jordan’s run on the show.
Also watched **The Day After Tomorrow** last night and it’s still holds up. Also, there is a guy in it who was the teacher hitting on Julie in FNL S2 (also in Glory Road) so that was weird. It also rained a massive amount yesterday then got very cold which is how the storm kicks off in the movie, so that was mildly concerning.
Shogun is another one I couldn’t finish OP. Never tried Old Country for Old Men. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I think few things are as overrated as that movie. I even watched it again earlier this year to double check if I was right about it and my opinion was confirmed. Not bad by any means just not a movie I want to watch over and over.
> Stephenson fan since I stumbled into Cryptonomicon.
Funny story- about fifteen or so years ago I travelled around South East Asia and India and when in Mumbai I stayed at a hotel where people had left a books which the owner had just left in the lounge area. One of those books was Cryptonomicon which I'd wanted to read as I'd enjoyed Snowcrash years earlier. Obviously I wasn't going to be able to read it all in one go so I figured I could just buy it off the owner. Everything was dirt cheap in India so suspected I could get it for a couple of NZ dollars but the dude said he wanted the equivalent of $50 and just refused to budge. I'm not gonna lie, I did just think of taking it with me anyway because fuck that guy but I figured it's probably best not to steal in a foreign country (or anywhere to be fair).
Ended up getting it when I was back from my trip and loved it though. I'd like to reread it but worry it won't be as good as I remembered. His other stuff is great too- Seveneves in particular.
> I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I think few things are as overrated as that movie. I even watched it again earlier this year to double check if I was right about it and my opinion was confirmed.
It's one of my favourites but I can understand it's not for everyone.
> Started watching Friday Night Lights - Season 2 tbh it’s not as horrible as I remember, still looking forward to Michael B. Jordan’s run on the show.
I love that by the time they get very sharkjumpy with it (>!Landry murdering a guy?!!<), you don't really care cause you're so invested in the people anyway.
>!Landry murdering a guy is the main reason I didn’t like it the first time and the main reason I’m finding it to not be so bad this time around. For starters, yes, it is an objectively B-A-N-A-N-A-S storyline on a show about Texas high school football. Morally I got no problems with his actions. Legally I think he’s got a valid affirmative defense of defense of others. If he’d just called his dad immediately he’d likely be hailed as a town hero. Dumping the body is the real problem, that’s a felony he can’t beat.!<
Season 2 does have other issues though, Julie is just all over the place in an inconsistent with her character manner, Santiago is a pantheon level bad actor, no one knew what to do with Street, Riggins just heading off to Mexico and missing games, etc. Minka Kelly is just an all-time stunner though, perhaps the most accurate thing I can say about her is just the truth, this is a woman so hot she made Derek Jeter settle down.
> As for Anno, I don’t know, I quite like city building games but there was something I just really didn’t like about it. I didn’t give it a fair go though.
"A fair go" is probably 20-30 hours - it's great fun, but mad complex. Anno 1404 is more easy to grasp and handle, and every bit as good I reckon, so might give that a shot. Still takes a bit of time until it pulls back the curtain fully, but not on quite the same scale.
> "A fair go" is probably 20-30 hours
Yeah, this is more a 'me' problem than the game's fault. As I get older I'm less interested in spending the required time to get to grips with more complicated games. I didn't love the UI though and that is often a deal breaker for me.
Yeah, can totally see it. Tried it three times, really enjoyed my time with it while not even getting close to the endgame, and then just always kinda drifted out of it again - which makes restarting so hard, because there's just so much going on, so much to learn, so many complex mechanics. Same time though I found it excellent, because despite all these excesses, it's an incredibly tightly designed game: there's basically no fat to be trimmed off, every element has a purpose tying into a lot of other elements. It's just a tad too much of it for me, which is why I brought up 1404: it's similarly excellent without being quite as overwhelming. Still a timesink, though.
I watched all the Mission Impossible films and it was really cool seeing them go from above average fun blockbusters to greatest action movies of all time territory
Yep. The first three are hit and miss. You can essentially skip the first 2 and start at 3 though I would recommend at least watching the first one. The latter 3 have been amazing and is when Tom Cruise really started to show off his ridiculous stunts. Most people agree that the 2018 Mission Impossible film is one of the best actions films of the century.
Also by all reports the newest film that's releasing this year is insane and could be 3 hours long(subject to a lot of trimming).
Started playing Immortality like an hour ago and so far it's rly cool outside of the Ambrosio clips. A bit boring for my liking and too "artsy". Otherwise I like creative games like this with a different concept. I absolutely like putting stories together and figuring things out.
Think it could go into a crazy direction though. I stopped after finding the clip where she sits at the bar and you find an alternate clip after rewinding that definitely raises a lot of questions.
Finally over COVID. Spending the weekend with family, which I'm very happy about before we go to a baby shower. Was quite nervous it wouldn't go away in time, but happy to get the go ahead.
Behind my right knee hurts and I don't know when it even started or what to do about it. It's basically only noticeable when I'm sitting funnily enough.
More importantly I have loads of assignments to do and I my attention span has similar deteriorated so hard I struggle to read sentences of work. It doesn't help that the assignment I'm currently trying to do is needlessly confusing but still, I need to chuck my phone or something.
Lessons and learning resources you can find for free online eg Youtube, specialised websites, ebooks
Most cities should have rehearsal studios where you can book a room for 30 mins, 1 hour etc, usually with discounts for people who only want to use the drumkit to practice.
Never too late, and I reckon there's serviceable electronic kits for beginners around that aren't too spendy, although the lessons are probably the more expensive bit.
Still though, might as well give it a try, cause what's the point of not having fun following whims and trying new stuff?
Normally i follow it a lot early in the season and them it gradually drops off and I prob won't even watch the last race.
This season though its the second race and I already don't really care.
I watched daredevil S1 and the first half made me feel like it's the greatest superhero media ever created, but the ending was quite underwhelming. Who knew Marvel can come up with things that don't have "funny" one-liners and pop cultural references every 2 minutes.
Really enjoyed it. Now you've mentioned it, might watch it again. Made the mistake of watching it the summer last time and couldn't see shit half the time.
It's a lot different but I highly recommend Legion. Also whilst we are on the subject of Daredevil; Jessica Jones was fantastic. David Tennant was absolutely captivating.
I liked the Daredevil show but it commits one of the most annoying sins in modern superhero adaptations, which is the hero needing to "earn" their costume or not having it until later in the story. Other than that, I do think it's a good show and stays fairly true to the tone and vibe of the source material in a way a lot of their movies haven't lately.
Starting skateboarding at an older age is hard. Not because fallen or anything is shitter, which is shit, it's not having anyone to do it with or help learn at your age. Only going when the skatepark is empty cause it's full of kids or teenagers is shit. It's some thing I've always wanted to learn so it's worth the fun of it.
As someone who skated from age 5 nonstop until I was 17, I can’t imagine starting to skate as an adult. I feel like I’d really hurt myself if I went back to skating now having not done much for years
Why go when the park's empty, rather than when there's people around to encourage you and give you tips?
Beginner's mindset is "I don't even know what I'm not capable of, I'm going to learn anyway and I don't care what others think" - basically leave your ego at the door and have fun trying out new shit, then watch people root for you and wanting help you out.
That's just your ego getting in the way though, isn't it? Don't think of them as 15-20 years younger, but rather 5 years more experienced in skating than you are, and suddenly it makes perfect sense to ask them - they're comparative experts, you're a beginner.
If you're there to skate, no one is going to care. Plus, maybe there is an older group of skaters but if you don't go to the park, you'll never meet them. Took me a few trips to meet some people my age at our local.
True, it's just a mental thing is all. I've been to other parks near where she range varies more but the one closest to me seems to have to lowest age. Just need to get over myself is all!
No big deal - got chatted up by a lady twice my age at the swimming pool today and encouraged a dude about half my age. Just people interacting like people at the end of the day.
Obviously don't wanna go all "how do you do fellow kids" on them, but like they're skating, you're skating, why not have a chat?
Ye that's my point, don't build up walls in your head needlessly like that, just go and do it - life's too short to be not so the things you want to do because you're too embarassed to put yourself out there. That's what the beginner's mindset is all about: knowing that everybody started from practically nothing, and then just kept doing it because they enjoyed doing it until they've gotten as good as they are through experience. Be curious, put yourself out there, cause there's nothing to be embarassed about not being good at something, and there's a lot of courage to be found in doing things you don't think you can and then chipping away at it.
Exactly the reason why I'm doing it in the first place, always wanted to do it so fuck it. Got a few looks when i said I wanted to start but who cares.
Had a go at making an all time test cricket 11 of players that have played cricket in the last 20 years because I was bored. Here is what I came up with:
1. Matthew Hayden
2. Hashim Amla
3. Sachin Tendulkar
4. Steve Smith
5. Ricky Ponting
6. Jacques Kallis
7. Adam Gilchrist
8. Shane Warne
9. Patt Cummins
10. Dale Steyn
11. Glenn McGrath
Murali and Warne are so close, I put Warne in there for his batting.
What do people think?
Also I'm posting this here as its interesting to discuss cricket with fellow football fans.
I'd put Graeme Smith as opener. Weirdly much better when playing away than at home, but South Africa can be difficult for openers so, a bit like in England, anything 40+ there is good. If you were trying to make an actual balanced side instead of just going on stats I suppose you could say he was too similar to Hayden, right down to the glaring weaknesses.
I’ll be a pedant and say that Amla wasn’t really an opener, especially in his prime around 2012 he batted at first drop. I’d have Cook or Graeme Smith instead for me, but can’t argue with your list nonetheless
I was thinking about Cook, but I feel like Amla in his prime was better and could open. I probably should have put Sehwag in, instead of Amla come to think of it as he's another shout as an opener.
I thought about putting Sangakkara in there instead of Gilchrist as Wicket Keeper, to be honest its so tough to fit everyone in. As I also forgot about Lara as well. Need to make a second 11!
Are you only considering their record during the 20 year window? If not, Brian Lara needs to be on there. His prime was before 20 years but he only retired from Test cricket in 2006
I completely forgot about Lara. I'm not sure who he would go in over though. You have to keep Kallis in there for his bowling, Smith and Tendulkar are both the best batters since Bradman in my opinion so I guess you put him in there over Ponting. But to be honest Ponting was so good that's hard to justify as well. So tough!
I can't believe Lara has been retired for 18 years, mental that. What a player he was.
Also I'd love to score 400* in a Test match while not being in my prime.
As an England fan I feel a bit hard done by there, but there's no disputing that that is a very strong team. I think I might put Anderson ahead of Paddy C maybe (although him and McGrath are most definitely both number 11s). I'd love to see Joe Root in there too - it's a toss-up between him and Smith.
Who do you have as captain? I always felt like Australia were dominant despite Ponting, not because of him. Wasn't he the first Australia captain to lose two Ashes series?
I imagine the Indian contingent of r/soccer might put Dhoni ahead of Gilchrist but I just loved watching Gilchrist, even when he was flaying Dominic Cork or Phil Tufnell or whoever to the boundary twice an over.
Great discussion point though, love a bit of cricket chat.
As an Englishman as well, yeah I really wanted to put an English player in there. But the only two that could go in there are Root and Anderson in my view. Unless Root opened the batting instead of Amla. Root I just don't think is quite as good as Tendulkar, Smith, Ponting or Kallis. Anderson though could probably go in there over Cummins.
In terms of captain, they are kind of lacking a world class captain, but despite sand paper gate, I'd probably go with Steve Smith as Captain and Cummins as Vice Captain, or Cummins as Captain with Smith as Vice Captain.
Ive heard of some people here who say they have drugs like weed delivered to them to door basically like a normal delivery, are you guys who do this never afraid that it could be a trap by cops sometime? I'd love a feature like that and maybe it does exist here(though im not using anything now) but usually people here just go to special coordinates to look under a rock or some stuff like that
Helps when you know the dealer personally. And have so many middlemen between you and the original source it would be much more worth it to go to people higher up the ladder.
Our weed store will deliver next day, never used the service though because when I want weed I want it now. Here you have to jump through the medical hoop to get approved but it’s just become paying for a doctor’s note, I don’t know anyone that has been denied. I have a professional job so didn’t want anything in my name so paid all doctor’s fees and the state’s fees to have my wife do it back before she was my wife. She actually just got back from the dispensary a few minutes ago. I will say this capitalism has done wonderful things for weed, she got a quarter for $40 which is exactly half of what I was paying my weed guy for the same amount of worse weed before we decided to do it legit.
Before this I had a guy who would deliver but he was just a friend who’d buy larger quantities and sell to a few friends so he could basically smoke for free. So he’d come over, sell some weed and get his ass whupped in FIFA.
Police aren’t gonna go to that effort to catch a small time buyer who if they acted sensibly, has plausible deniability.
If you order small, not international and take reasonable care you’ll be safe 99% of the time
Honestly, I ended up finding out some people I know grow the stuff, so whenever I need anything, I’ll just ask my friends and they give me high quality weed, of which I know it doesn’t have any added stuff. It’s just really great weed.
If you want good quality weed, start growing it yourself. It’s not that hard and you will never ever want to go back to shady dealers afterwards!
You could also ask them to grow you a plant when they do their next run, and pay them a set amount of money for electricity, water and fertiliser. Ask them to grow you an entire plant and offer them €100 or something like that. Then you’ll be set for quite a while.
It's no big deal when you got connections. Like Saul Goodman, in most cases, someone knows a guy who knows another guy who knows another guy... you find a reliable dealer, sometimes through other people you trust (like a good friend who has more "street cred" so to say) and that's all - not any riskier than ordering pizza. If we are talking about weed, finding connections is not difficult at all. Even in countries where it's illegal (with some exceptions of course) most cops won't care unless you are in the business, making tons of money selling it. Heck, in most places, if you smoke it outdoors, they'd probably just ask you to fuck off. Under a rock is amateur business - if getting weed feels like some action movie, if it feels more tense than receiving a parcel from your friend, don't do it. Probably something is wrong with that.
It was a much cheaper solution to just give the residents of Blyth their drugs.
But nah I moved to Canada, but as I'm not entirely sure how I stand on the whole Newcastle business so I go with Blyth instead
Aww this poor bastard behind the bar for lunch is really new and clearly on because all the experienced ones want the night tips
Got that young pup energy where they care way too much and don't have the skill yet
I’ve been rewatching Star Trek recently.
Star Trek: Enterprise Season 4 is one of the best seasons of Star Trek ever.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is by far the best Star Trek show out there, and it’s just an objectively great show. Also, both “Emissary” (DS9) and “Broken Bow” (Enterprise) are absolute banger pilot episodes.
DS9 is my happy place. TNG, VOY and ENT too to some degree, but DS9 is just cozy home for me. I love absolutely everything about it.
You should give ENT a go. Just know that the first two seasons can be rough. There are no completely horrible episodes, like “Code of honor” in TNG, but some are rough. You need to lean into the setting. ENT is a prequel to the original series. They nailed the ship design and the hopeful explorative mindset, but the producers start doing very weird shit fairly early. Also, Dominik Keating’s portrayal of Malcolm Reed needs some getting used to, and Travis Mayweather may be the blandest TV character I have ever seen.
Captain Archer is a flawed character, which is awesome. He is what humanity is like: curious, excited, motivated, but he’s also impulsive and at times struggles to open himself to other cultures. I really like that, because it’s a realistic portrayal.
And then there are some other characters. Dr. Phlox is awesome, and T’Pol and Trip Tucker have two of the greatest character arcs ever and are wonderfully portrayed.
Overall, like every Star Trek Enterprise gets better with every season, so just lean into it and enjoy. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.
One last thing: if you ever get to season 4, skip the last episode. The two preceding episodes are a brilliant story arc that wrap up the entire series perfectly and are a wonderful finale.
The final episode screws up pretty much everything, adds nothing to the show and is actually a TNG episode, so just leave it out and enjoy the much better finale that is “Terra Prime”.
Oooh, you’re going to love the rest of voyager and Strang New worlds. Both are amazing. SNW is a return to the old trek and I absolutely love it!
I get that. But try to view the show as complete before you watch the final episode.
View the final episode as a one-off, a fun extra. It doesn’t wrap up anything and doesn’t add anything to the story. So I’d put it into my mind that the show itself concludes with Terra Prime :)
Enjoy :)
How are you liking Voyager so far?
What? Fucking hell that is terrible news. Man had like 1% body fat. This is crazy
He played in one of my favorite shows
"Bend too far. You're already broken,"
Rest in peace to a great actor.
yeah that’s fucking sad. he is amazing in both my favorite game of all time, horizon zero dawn, and the games i’ve played the most by far, destiny 1/2. among the other things he’s in too
I'd say get off reddit and focus but then I remember I wasn't much better when I was working on my thesis, the final push is the absolute worst but few things compare to the feeling of satisfaction once you finish and look at what you were able to write
I can't focus 24 hours a day, and I like FTF. 9-7 with a lunch break and then a workout in the evening should be fine, I'm pretty close to finished (or so I think right now anyway).
Just found out that there's gonna be downsizing a couple levels above me at work and major restructuring where I need to report to a new person I've never met and is based in Europe, which frustrates me because I was already getting conflicting feedback about what expectations for me were and what to do outside of day-to-day stuff. The only reasons I'm not considering looking for a new job just yet are that I've only had this job for 9 months and that I don't think my network or body of work are built out enough that I could land something in a role that's worth putting myself through the job search for again.
Americans on this facebook group called „I love my Polish heritage” are too funny man https://twitter.com/kasiababis/status/1635943764798603265?s=46&t=C_FTNEjFHjUWlh0tyJ7_cA like what is this 💀
Woah, what the fuck, it's raining here. I feel good, I feel cold.
Where?
Never start playing football mananger. You'll never thank me for that, but if you don't follow the tip, you'll think that you should have listened to me earlier
I am still very shit at this game. Been losing left and right with soton again 👍
Sounds realistic.
As someone who has played Football Manager games since the late nineties, I agree
I just found out Lance Reddick died. I'm devastated. He was THE voice of Destiny, probably my favorite game ever, and his character was so well written and had depth. He was such a big fan of the game too. Shit my Saturday has been ruined already
He was absolutely fantastic in Fringe, a show I highly recommend. So sad to read he past away.
As sad as I am about it (The Wire being my absolute favourite show of all time) it was really cool seeing so many communities on Reddit show their love for the guy.
Recently he's been voicing a dragon on Vox Machina and was amazing. He was also supposed to be Zeus on the Percy Jackson show
I’m not a fan of Destiny but I loved him in The Wire, Bosch, and the John Wick films. 60 is too young.
Bosch is so good man. They nailed the character so well without it being a cliche.
an astonishingly consistent show. 50+ episodes and i dont think i'd rate any under 8/10.
Yeah, surprisingly so. You won’t think it looking at the synopsis. With this and Reacher, Amazon are great at murder mystery shows with single word titles.
Bro why do nobody in here talked about new kasabian albums.
Does anyone have a sitcom that is kind of relatable and just in general fun to watch like it's not too exaggerated or forced humor. Something similar to Friends maybe
Modern Family
I have a list of these type of shows which I have ithe background while playing FM: Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec, Office, 2 and a half men, Seinfeld
You should add 30 Rock to the rotation based on those picks.
Who's the Boss, Spin City, Married with Children, Home Improvement, Everybody Loves Raymond.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a really fun show IMO, much more enjoyable than Friends.
Seinfeld
Always been a big parks and recreation fan, but it’s a bit more plot driven than friends. I can see that if you aren’t American though you might find the characters quite exaggerated
How I Met Your Mother is like Friends but better imo. Scrubs is also up there for me.

I second this. The accent took a few seasons for me to understand lol, but i liked it as a casual show to watch
I’m aware that Reddit has a dislike towards the Big Bang theory, but I’m finishing the second season and I think it’s a great series so far. I don’t know if it’s similar to friends however
Thought I'd just post something I've been watching, reading etc lately Started reading "The Brothers Karamazov" Dostoyevsky. Just finished the first half of the book, absolutely astounding so far. I can't wait to see what happens next. I haven't watched much TV this week, but Vinland Saga has been good. It's a drastic change from the last season, but it's still incredibly well done and so beautiful. Also, I also seen the new "Cunk" documentary, and that was genuinely hilarious, haha I'm listening to the new Paramore album, and I honestly didn't expect a lot, but this has been really good. Feel like they’re one of the few that have aged well. The only bad thing about it is that it's just 36 minutes long. Liar just hits so hard, man. idk FM has been my main game for a bit now, and I'm really enjoy it, especially the part where I get absolutely smashed because I always leave my FBs on attack.
Holy shit there's a chance I beat the TV host I was in an interview with. I got to the next stage, idk if he did. Hacker in the absolute shit.
Since when was Zombie Nation in Rocket League? Just played against someone with it as goal music.
they added it sometime late last year to the shop. it's pretty rare to see it in game though since it was only available for a couple of days
Messi - brilliant player, happy he won the WC with Argentina. Absolutely sick of news regarding his contract and where he'll be playing next year.
Just watched Bullet Train. Started with not knowing what to expect and was blown away. Amazing and hilarious movie 10/10
I have to watch it, looks so fun
Oh yeh I liked that film, surprised me a bit
I saw it on a flight, i loved it! watched again on a bigger screen during my trip.
Jimmy Page is heavy overrated. Bonham and Jones honestly carried that band like Kevin De Bruyne has been carrying Man City these last few years.
I have maintained for years that John Paul Jones was the best one. Arguably the best bass player ever.
JPJ is fucking phenomenal mate 👌
I heard someone say Andy Warhol is real-life Chauncey Gardiner and it all makes sense now lmao
I recently read a transcript of an old interview. The interviewer asked him if he'd want to live on the moon and he declined because he's afraid of heights. He has this profound authentic levity thats compelling

¿Que?
Oh well.
Sounds like you have some decent parents though, mine were very much “college is over, time to work”.
Yeah they’re great. Super supportive:)
My parents are like "why aren't you getting your masters?"
Grass is always greener on the other side
At the same time, they’re probably green with envy over the fact they’ve been broke students whilst you’re living it up in London. Finding a job after graduation is so daunting and you’ve sorted that part out already. Everything in perspective
Cheers for the kind words bro:) hadn’t really thought of it like that before but I think you might be right
damn Lance Reddick just died. just finished Bosch, he was great in it.
Bosch is one of my favorite shows honestly, was very sad to see that news
i won my workplace Oscars predictions game 👍 it was actually one of the most predictable Oscars in years, even though i’ve only watched a fraction of the films
No super natural element but give Rome a go if you've not watched it yet. It's brilliant.
I watched some of The Last Kingdom a few years back and remember enjoying it, it's based in 9th century England, might be up your alley
Dumping the body is the real problem, that’s a felony he can’t beat.!< Season 2 does have other issues though, Julie is just all over the place in an inconsistent with her character manner, Santiago is a pantheon level bad actor, no one knew what to do with Street, Riggins just heading off to Mexico and missing games, etc. Minka Kelly is just an all-time stunner though, perhaps the most accurate thing I can say about her is just the truth, this is a woman so hot she made Derek Jeter settle down.
Remember doing No Country For Old Men at school, never truly appreciated it until I read it again in my own time
That's a great book for school- I can't remember anything I particularly enjoyed apart from All Quiet on the Western Front.
> "A fair go" is probably 20-30 hours Yeah, this is more a 'me' problem than the game's fault.
So the newer ones are better than older ones? Interesting, I've never watched them but I plan to. Usually the older movies are better in franchises
The action sequences got so fucking good, without sacrificing the story and characters.
They're cracking good fun, yeah. Incredibly rewatchable, too!
Has anyone been to Aalborg or Aarhus?
> Aarhus In the middle of the street?
Want to learn the drums but feel like it'a too late and too expensive to start. Ah well
Lessons and learning resources you can find for free online eg Youtube, specialised websites, ebooks Most cities should have rehearsal studios where you can book a room for 30 mins, 1 hour etc, usually with discounts for people who only want to use the drumkit to practice.
Never too late, and I reckon there's serviceable electronic kits for beginners around that aren't too spendy, although the lessons are probably the more expensive bit. Still though, might as well give it a try, cause what's the point of not having fun following whims and trying new stuff?
F1 is so dull right now
Only right now? /s
Normally i follow it a lot early in the season and them it gradually drops off and I prob won't even watch the last race. This season though its the second race and I already don't really care.
Vettel retiring + Hamilton/Mercedes being shit killed it
> Hamilton/Mercedes being shit killed it Imagine the average F1 fan saying this 7 or so years ago, time really flies
Dude, it’s been like this for the past 10 years :D
There arent even two goods teams they all literally suck. Theres usually at least been two good teams.
If it helps, increasing your tv's brightness makes it easier to watch in brighter rooms.
you should watch the rest. ending of s03 is very satisfying. the punisher series is also pretty good
It's a lot different but I highly recommend Legion.
Always that bit more difficult when you are 15-20 years older asking the tips of the lads there.
That's just your ego getting in the way though, isn't it? Don't think of them as 15-20 years younger, but rather 5 years more experienced in skating than you are, and suddenly it makes perfect sense to ask them - they're comparative experts, you're a beginner.
Oh no it's more so about it being weird or perceived as being weird going up and chatting to kids 15-20 years younger than me.
Fair you're not wrong! It's all just a mental thing to me at the end of the day
Ye that's my point, don't build up walls in your head needlessly like that, just go and do it - life's too short to be not so the things you want to do because you're too embarassed to put yourself out there.
On my knees for a new Sam Fender album
Hey! anyone in France, "c'est soir c'est Palmashow" is on TF1 right now, parodies like the old Inconnus sketches.
Had a go at making an all time test cricket 11 of players that have played cricket in the last 20 years because I was bored. Here is what I came up with: 1. Matthew Hayden 2. Hashim Amla 3. Sachin Tendulkar 4. Steve Smith 5. Ricky Ponting 6. Jacques Kallis 7. Adam Gilchrist 8. Shane Warne 9. Patt Cummins 10. Dale Steyn 11. Glenn McGrath Murali and Warne are so close, I put Warne in there for his batting.
No Dravid, Sanga, or Mahela?
Oh haha. You are right, I forgot that he scored 400 in 2004. He definitely needs to be in the list
For me Gilchrist has to be the first name on the team sheet. Arguably the GOAT keeper and my favorite player
I agree, he completely revolutionised the keeper position. Without him there's probably no Jos Buttler or Quentin de Kock.
Ive heard of some people here who say they have drugs like weed delivered to them to door basically like a normal delivery, are you guys who do this never afraid that it could be a trap by cops sometime? I'd love a feature like that and maybe it does exist here(though im not using anything now) but usually people here just go to special coordinates to look under a rock or some stuff like that
I live in San Diego and we have this service (for weed). It is amazing since I grew up during the days of dealing with sketchy dealers.
Yeah thats what I do(not grow because its risky but just ask the friends)
You could also ask them to grow you a plant when they do their next run, and pay them a set amount of money for electricity, water and fertiliser. Ask them to grow you an entire plant and offer them €100 or something like that. Then you’ll be set for quite a while.
I actually dont know any growers, I mean I would eventually by a chain but mostly I never knew personally people who were growers
Ah, okay, got it!
Cops wanna go after dealers, they’ll rarely go out their way for users. In the UK anyway
In Germany too!
Yeah thats why I dont bother, though with weed I have friends of friends of course who could supply me if needed
Where I live we've got weed stored like liquor stores. One of thems even government ran
Well i mean countries where its not legal
I forget those exist
Is that a Blyth Spartans flair? Has Tyneside declared independence and adopted a very liberal drugs policy?
It was a much cheaper solution to just give the residents of Blyth their drugs. But nah I moved to Canada, but as I'm not entirely sure how I stand on the whole Newcastle business so I go with Blyth instead
Aww this poor bastard behind the bar for lunch is really new and clearly on because all the experienced ones want the night tips Got that young pup energy where they care way too much and don't have the skill yet

So I’d put it into my mind that the show itself concludes with Terra Prime :) Enjoy :) How are you liking Voyager so far?

That’s fair. For me, Voyager “grows its beard” when they replace Kes with Seven. Seven improves the show A LOT! My pleasure :) enjoy! :)
Come Out Ye Black and Tans is an absurdly good song
Bar I'm in is currently blasting Raglan Road which is a bold move since it's slow but what a great song
do u not think this is highly offensive?
Offensive to whom?
No man, not Lance Reddick. First Omar now Daniels.
What? Fucking hell that is terrible news. Man had like 1% body fat. This is crazy He played in one of my favorite shows "Bend too far. You're already broken," Rest in peace to a great actor.
Right? He looked fit as fuck in The Wire, that first shirtless scene was shocking.
Wait what That's devastating
Only 60 too. Very sad
yeah that’s fucking sad. he is amazing in both my favorite game of all time, horizon zero dawn, and the games i’ve played the most by far, destiny 1/2. among the other things he’s in too
His voice acting work is exceptional too, like it’s so distinctive. Big loss for sure man
Very unique voice and gravitas to it. He was recently in Vox Machina as a dragon and he was perfect.
Yeah, I loved him in that too, he was perfect casting for Thordak
Dissertation due Monday, time to drink 3 coffees a day and sit in the library 9-7 for the whole weekend.
You got this. Now get off Reddit and nail it! I believe in you :)
You’ll succeed
Thank you!
Haha yeah was just joking around there, it's good that you have a schedule planned out, good luck!
Thank you!
Why is everyone that works in real estate an utter fucking moron? How is that industry only recruiting incompetent people?
I've had to edit my own realtors summary on it and a lot of his photos are shite. Had to talk him in to doing an open house Do your fucking job ffs
Finally got my hands on a 3DS and tomodachi life, i’m offcially ready for the best acid trip of my life
Just found out that there's gonna be downsizing a couple levels above me at work and major restructuring where I need to report to a new person I've never met and is based in Europe, which frustrates me because I was already getting conflicting feedback about what expectations for me were and what to do outside of day-to-day stuff. The only reasons I'm not considering looking for a new job just yet are that I've only had this job for 9 months and that I don't think my network or body of work are built out enough that I could land something in a role that's worth putting myself through the job search for again.
What's your role?
I don’t want to give out too much detail because of the nature and size of my company but I do research for a finance-related firm
I honestly can’t keep the words “cook” and “cooking” from my vocabulary now.
That's Russell Wilson's legacy now lol
