Missed most of the game due to circumstances out off my control but from what I did see we really need to work on our off the ball running. When we have the ball no one really tries to break the lines or make a decoy run to pull a man out off position and because of this we are very passive when we have the ball and it just goes side to side.
Also we were very sloppy in midfield from what I saw. Too many touches and poor passes. I know we were missing bruno who makes everything tick, but we can't be this reliant on one player.
Feel sorry for ASM. Wanted to see him back in the team, and his work rate was better than ever, the problem was we starved him off the ball because of our insistence that our threat comes down trippiers side. He also seemed to want to pick the ball up from a deeper position rather than trying to run in behind or stretch the play
100% no one looking to create space. It’s like watching England knock it around the back.
I didn’t think ASM was terrible but his team mates don’t seem to want to use him.
The guys were actively looking to involve Gordon from the moment he came on.
Our lads missed a few smart runs from ASM where he couldn’t driven at goal. We need him inside not at the byline with a crowded box
Also doesn't help that on that left hand side they always seem to ignore Dan burn when he makes the overlapping run. I know he's not a traditional left back but because he never gets the ball when he does go forward opponents don't track the run as they know it won't go to him. If they gave him the ball occasionally when he does make that run it might free up that little bit of space for ASM to drive into as I agree he's better suited to be in and around the box with his ability
Where were you sitting?
I’m east stand and I though the atmosphere for the first 30 minutes was as good as it’s been all season
After they scored it was a bit up and down, and the frustration was clearly kicking in after about an hour, but it was still way better than quite a few games and definitely not “dreadful”
Interesting - there seemed to be a fair bit of noise coming down from L7 too. Weird how it’s different in different parts of the ground.
It was definitely flat for the 15 minutes after they scored, and the first 5 mins of the second half is never great - the first 30 was excellent and the rest was fine.
Definitely better than Palace and Bournemouth (League and cup) and Leeds
You guys are crazy. Half the sub didn't want Gordon when he was first rumoured to be signing. Once it looked like we were close to signing him, there were so many posts saying "I went away and thought about it and this is why Gordon will be a good signing".
Now, after 20 minutes of football, Gordon has cemented his place in the starting line up for so many of you, forgetting that Maxi and Isak have both come on and made impactful sub appearances recently.
Exactly! The "crazy" stuff pretty much started once we came in the top 4. We do not need to win every game just yet; this is just our first season as a real side. ASM has a lot to offer, and we have seen that he can work well in this team as well (city). People definitely need to calm down.
Honestly, a lot of people stated that they didn’t like the guy personally but all said that we trusted in Howes judgement and that his speed will be the key for him getting a start over Wilson
I was just thinking about that, literally just the last few games where Maxi came on for more than 15 mins everyone saying how amazing he was and the impact he's added to the play. Now he starts he's expected to do that all game which it's normal for players not to if they start. I'd still start Maxi against Bournemouth tbh to boost his confidence
I’m one of those who wasn’t sure about Gordon from an attitude perspective. Didn’t mean I didn’t want him necessarily, just that I had reservations. Now that he’s here, of course we’re going to support him!
Aye, there's supporting him and then there's saying he needs to start after 20 minutes of football. I keep on hearing "we need to support him" but 90% of comments about Maxi and Longstaff are unsupportive.
Wish we directed some of that positive energy towards them, rather than scapegoating them. There were a couple of times Gordon lost possession. This sub would have lost their shit if it were Maxi.
There are serious flaws in this squad and I believe our business in January will cost us the champions league place but I’m not overly worried about that, I’d be ecstatic with Europa Conference but I think we will rue not adding another midfielder.
I just don’t think we could afford to do what we needed in January. We’ll be in a better position in Summer whether we’re in the CL or not, plus we’ll hey a trophy an all.
We can afford anyone but I get the impression they didn’t want to panic buy which is completely fine but I think it will cost us top four, you could argue we haven’t had Shelvey all season so we haven’t lost anything but the team already looks a big leggy, those last ten games are going to be attrition
I don’t think you honestly believe we have the depth and strength in squad to qualify for cl? You seen what one mid week game has done to us? We looked leggy as fuck. I honestly think we have overachieved so much this season it’s messed their plans up. I’ve got an inside man but no way do coaching staff want top 4 this year, there goals are top 6 for next two years and some decent silverware. Imagine if we were in 2 cup runs and the champions league like Man U? We’d be fucked. Only thing helping us at Wembley is we have a week off and Man U got like 6 games leading up.
Madness to think we aren’t way way way overachieving in 4 place right now expecting like we should finish there.
We would look horrendous next year in the premier league if we were to also add Europe right now. And that’s not even mentioning Europe conference which is a bloody tough run.
You also said it’s going to cost us champions league, but my point is will it? Just ride the wave. Let the squad build. If we get eu football that’s going to be one hell of a rough season balancing potentially 4 different cup ties. We can’t grow too fast, even city didn’t.
I don’t think the player we want was available. Either clubs didn’t was to loan/sell or the price was prohibitive having bought Gordon.
Summer will be our window. There’s a lot of our player contracts ending and a decent number of top quality players in the final leg of their contracts.
Glad Wilson scored, Gordon looked goodish. Pele said you have 5 good games a season , 5 bad and the rest average, That was average/ bad, it’s behind us and we move on.
Awful first half, dominated the second. Wilson messing up 2 great chances second half. Maxi aint it anymore, gordon has to start ahead of him... showed so much more. Bring back bruno!!!!
Maxi is not really fit to start games and now he's rather limited due to Eddie's tactics. His imprevisibility worked like a charm under Bruce, because he was our only hope and he could try anything. Now, in a way more organised style of play, he has to adapt to use his skills more efficient. That's not easy at all, but he can do it. I really don't wanna lose him, even for a big amount of cash. I don't blame Maxi for this result, everyone looked so average. We're still in a good position. It's way too early to complain.
We created enough to win the game. Willock had it in the onion bag and Wilson had two clear cut chances to bury the game. Gordon’s could of went in. Not like we’re not creating. But yeah need to be way more clinical when they come.
Thought Gordon and Anderson looked really tidy. Maxi didn’t do himself any favours. Very wasteful.
Plenty of positives to take away from this match for me to be honest. Enjoyed the urgency once Gordon came on, felt unlucky to not get one to go our way by the end. Currently on a thin squad which is the most concerning piece for me, without one or two key players our lack of depth shows. Reckon we bag that game if Bruno and Isak are fit. Still better to take a draw from the game rather than a loss and Gordon looks class going forward
A draw is still a point more than a loss, so it’s not all bad, in my opinion AG smashed the chance of ASM starting next game seemed to understand the system and that ball through to Wilson was fantastic
Well, we're going to have to get used to playing against 11 behind the ball and get people in that can change that because that wasn't enough.
The semi, lack of Bruno and West Ham still had to dig deep to get anything.
Bad goal to give away and Wilson is fighting the ball and should have had a hat trick.
Willock/Joe/longstaff is not creative enough, with miggy not doing anything apart from running again, maxi is an impact sub and Wilson is a shadow of his former self where will the goals come from?
I think Miggy did well. He looked after the ball and carried well. He also showed more ability to dribble past players than Maxi (supposedly our best dribbler). When needed him in the box more when we were playing through the centre.
Our issue is that we don’t seem very dangerous from crosses but we always look to play them and don’t seem to have any other ideas to unlock crowded boxes.
Willock was slowing things down too much when the break was on.
Maxi showed he can be a team player first half but he’s not beating his man anymore. Just dancing on the edge.
If Isak was on I think we’d nick that because he looks to make things happen with the ball at his feet.
Gordon showed glimpses of class. He’ll have that right hand side nailed down in no time.
I’ll also take the downvotes and stick up for Longstaff who I thought was our best midfielder today. I don’t think he did much wrong, won a lot of balls rebounding away from their box and at times looked like the only one wanting to break through their low block.
Draw was a fair result.
Is it just me or do we seem to have lost a bit of intensity in the press?
Och well - we didn’t lose. Played much better in the 2nd half. Let’s get at it again for next week. All good… not enough direct passes or runs through their midfield. Yeah we miss Bruno but Rice is class player. HWTL - enjoy the evening.
Wilson had his best game for us since the WC break, he was putting himself about and looked lively.
Should have finished that chance in the second half, but it was good defending and he's apparently suffering from Long COVID so I can't hold it too much against him.
He’s there to finish chances, he got 3 great chances and did fine with two of them. One he should have done better, Isak’s pace would have got that second chance in but that can’t be helped.
It’s just where we are, we’re a good team but don’t have the squad depth to win all these low block games. Draw was the fair result, let’s take it and move on.
Agreed. Lad oozed class today. And Aguerd was a beast in defence for them.
A fair few hammers fans saying that’s one of their best performances this year.
I don’t expect it? It was a totally matter of fact and sober comment. We’re currently in fourth but this many draws might risk that. It’s not like I’m saying that while we’re sat in 11th or something.
Jesus, fucking aggressive twats responding to a standard comment about our indisputably large number of draws.
Lol I am relaxed, I’m just saying.
CL has become a real possibility, but these draws don’t help. I’d be perfectly happy with whatever ends up happening this season.
It’s a shame that in the one game where our defence has wavered, theirs has been incredible except for that one sleepy moment early on.
Second half has been really positive though, Gordon looks like a damn good signing
Burn definitely showing his limitations going forward in this one. Makes the run but no one plays him in because when he does get it in the final 3rd he never knows what to do with it and it ends up going backwards.
Standard of referee in the PL is a fucking joke. I swear every match we get an incompetent ref, that free kick was five yards back from the offence and they stopped us taking it quick ffs.
The commentary on the NBC stream has been so fucking weird. Stadium sounds loud as fuck and the commentator comes out with "St. James park falls silent." Then talks about us being on the ropes to a Declan Rice corner...which is cleared by the first defender.
Peter Drury is on the American channels though and he's so much better than sky commentary. The actual channels though besides commentary in America are dirt though. At least there seems to be less betting ads
That's why I avoid American commentary. It's utter wank, and the program itself isn't any better.
"Stoppage time brought to you by Geico"
"Here's our first half highlights sponsored by Burger King"
"Today's Adidas man of the match is..."
Did they? Didn’t have a shot on target except the one from corner. Defending was on point, as was possession for most of the game. We lacked creativity, Gordon did help a bit with that.
ASM is frustrating when we're playing a system. He's a brilliant player but doesn't seem to blend with what we're trying to achieve.
to summarise ASMs playing style, 1:1 he can take on anyone, get into a dangerous position and then kick it out.
Should have signed a midfielder
Missed most of the game due to circumstances out off my control but from what I did see we really need to work on our off the ball running. That’s fickle fans for you tho 🙈
Football fans being reactive? Why I never
I was just thinking about that, literally just the last few games where Maxi came on for more than 15 mins everyone saying how amazing he was and the impact he's added to the play. It’s a question of buying who we want, but having a willing seller as well. The player will also need to want to come. It’s complicated.
I don’t think the player we want was available. Either clubs didn’t was to loan/sell or the price was prohibitive having bought Gordon. Summer will be our window. There’s a lot of our player contracts ending and a decent number of top quality players in the final leg of their contracts.
We've hit a lull. Still in a good spot, need to snap back.
I’m worried all of these draws are going to come back and bite us on the ass at the end of the season. We need to convert these draws to wins.
Glad Wilson scored, Gordon looked goodish. Pele said you have 5 good games a season , 5 bad and the rest average, That was average/ bad, it’s behind us and we move on.
40 points.
So we're safe?
Yes safe

Is the teams website the best place for a jersey?
Fair play to them, Declan Rice and Paqueta bossed our midfield today
Yeh we really missed Bruno today.
*'Lads, it's Tottenham'*
We’ll revisit this in May 😂
I don't like saying this as i love ASM, but Gordon has to start next match. He was really really good both offensively and defensively.
Wont happen
Eddie, get me as third striker, you need it and i don't need to get paid.
Why not?
Metabar0n is Howe's reddit account.
😳
Not starting has destroyed ASMs confidence. We saw him work in the new system vs City but he's too scared to be him now.
He's just got to find the form... He's a bit like Grealish being stuck in the battle between being good and being part of the system
His power was in his dreadlocks. He should have kept them.
Ah well, didn’t get beat at least. Isak back next match thankfully
We almost never get beat. It's always Win/Draw lol
A point more than Liverpool and Chelsea haven’t gained any this weekend! Glass half full! Howay the lads!
Chelsea drew Fulham.
Yeah and we drew. So they never gained any points on us…
That’s it boys work on Rice get him here for the summer
I’d love that. Depth aside, I think he’s the missing jigsaw piece.
Week till the next game. Few days rest and then we go again.
We created enough to win the game. Willock had it in the onion bag and Wilson had two clear cut chances to bury the game. Gordon’s could of went in. Not like we’re not creating. Should have won with Wilsons chances, also tell burn to just stay back. He just stands in a space where a quick winger can actually run into
Really hard watch. But we could easily have lost that. Onwards and upwards.
Agent Tripps tapping Declan
These draws are getting old.
Go on trips. Tell rice how lovely it is up here
Och well - we didn’t lose. Played much better in the 2nd half. Let’s get at it again for next week. All good… not enough direct passes or runs through their midfield. Yeah we miss Bruno but Rice is class player. HWTL - enjoy the evening.
Considering no bruno and such a big game mid week I'll take it
That tackle from Aguerd deserved a point today. We were much better in second half. Still not great, Gordon looked bright. Ok we go HWTL.
Could be worse, just frustrating to watch.
Wilson was awful. Should have had 3. Need Isak to start for the rest of the season.
Wilson's goal was very well taken. He's definitely seemed off the boil recently but thought he looked good today
Wilson had his best game for us since the WC break, he was putting himself about and looked lively. Should have finished that chance in the second half, but it was good defending and he's apparently suffering from Long COVID so I can't hold it too much against him.
away man, should have done better with headed chance, but that tackle against him was superb and he scored. What game were you watching?
He just needs to get involved more. Didn't do enough from my perspective. Awful is a stretch but i'm certainly most dissapointed with him after today.
He’s there to finish chances, he got 3 great chances and did fine with two of them. One he should have done better, Isak’s pace would have got that second chance in but that can’t be helped.
Fucking shit take as always
He scored but he wasted 2 great opportunities. Clear to me Isak is just more quality imo.
Kind of Joelinton letting Paqueta have his shirt.
Only team in double figures for draws.
It’s just where we are, we’re a good team but don’t have the squad depth to win all these low block games. Draw was the fair result, let’s take it and move on.
Declan Rice just absolutely single handedly dominated our midfield. The best player on the park and it wasn’t even close
Agreed. Lad oozed class today. And Aguerd was a beast in defence for them. A fair few hammers fans saying that’s one of their best performances this year.
I thought Joelinton was fantastic. His heat map was the entire pitch.
Ugh at least we didn't lose lads. Wasn't pretty, but Gordon was getting me excited when on the ball. Bring on Bournemouth!
Gordon looks the dogs eh
We serious need a DM who can link midfield and defence attack when Bruno isn't playing. Lot better second half after nervy first 15 mins
Preferably one that has an eye for a 30 yard screamer seeing as that’s about as close to goal as teams will let us these days.
Decent point in the end, but feels like two lost against a West Ham team who were in the shit. We're still massive mind
I think both managers will be disappointed by that result.
Ten draws man, fucking hell
At least Wilson ended his drought. Gordon looked really good.
🎶 BRUNO COME BACK 🎵
He is greatly missed. At least he’ll be back for EFL cup. Unfortunately Case too.
We are going to draw our way into the not too 5.
We love a draw. Not a great performance. At least we didn't lose.
Finishing that at 93:40 when the ET free kick didn’t get taken until 92:30 is ridiculous.
lets be honest, we probably weren't going to score in another 20 mins
I'm confident that I could referee a Premier League match
Good first impression by gordon
How is Burn not winning header la at corners and free kicks FFS - 10 PM draws. Jaysus
He can't jump. Like at all.
Murphy you stinker
Poor January window exposed there.
The black and white tinted glasses in this sub will downvote this
Hey I was right. Ref just ignored the ball not being played from 89-91.
DRAWCASTLE UTD
First team in the PL to get to double figures.
Meh. Can't win them all I guess
If you try really hard you could draw them all though
Newcastle trying to find a way to draw them all
AG has made good first impressions
And some shockingly slack play too.
How have they only got 1 booking all game?!
Poor ref. So many niggling little tackles, which had he given a yellow earlier wouldn’t have happened.
West ham spend more time on floor then anything
Ah that chase back and little tug from Gordon nails it, he's a perfect signing
We can’t expect CL with this many draws
Who the fuck expects CL ffs you melt
I don’t expect it? It was a totally matter of fact and sober comment. We’re currently in fourth but this many draws might risk that. It’s not like I’m saying that while we’re sat in 11th or something. Jesus, fucking aggressive twats responding to a standard comment about our indisputably large number of draws.
A year ago we were going down. Relax.
And really we're ahead of schedule challenging for a CL place
Lol I am relaxed, I’m just saying. CL has become a real possibility, but these draws don’t help. I’d be perfectly happy with whatever ends up happening this season.
Gordon getting back was class there - pulled Bowen away
High grade shithousery from Gordon pulling Bowen's arm. He'll fit right in
Our 3 midfield creativity without Bruno or Shelvey is like squeezing water from a stone in a arid desert
These draws man
[удалено]
Think i can see the hole left by bruno here. Lots of wing play but lacking in the middle
That's been the problem without Shelvey
The fact we can play this bad and still not lose says a lot about this team. Onwards and upwards.
This many draws is terrible tho
As long as we don’t get relegated
Mike Ashley doesn’t own the club anymore
Get off you fuck
1 minute into extra time, ball hasn’t been put in play yet. Bet ref blows it dead at 93 anyway.
[удалено]
Lol
Isak? He’s not on the bench lol, concussion
Injured
Ref has lost control a bit, allowing west ham to foul without repercussion
It’s a shame that in the one game where our defence has wavered, theirs has been incredible except for that one sleepy moment early on. Second half has been really positive though, Gordon looks like a damn good signing
Agree. Focus on the positives.

I was most impressed with his movement and link up. 2-3 flashes of great play. No if we can get him running at men.
Burn definitely showing his limitations going forward in this one. Makes the run but no one plays him in because when he does get it in the final 3rd he never knows what to do with it and it ends up going backwards.
Need to play the whole game like these final 15 minutes
Draw all over this. Ffs.
BDB West Ham's new head physio
His height gives him the leverage needed!
He was actually trying to snap that kids foot clean off
Can’t wait for the avalanche of “low block” comments on Twitter. A football term that is this seasons most popular trendy thing.
It's so fucking annoying isn't it lol
The armchair data analysts are the worst.
Burn not being able to cross at all, hurts us.
Unfortunate Targett can’t seem to shake that niggle. I also feel miggys lack of a right foot it so obvious and one dimensional
Come on let's steal one
I remember when we used to shitehouse things
Me too 😂

Oui
Yes
They’ve sat with 10 behind the ball the whole half, shows how far we’ve come since last season.
West Ham have been really good at stifling those give and goes on the corner of the box
Standard of referee in the PL is a fucking joke. I swear every match we get an incompetent ref, that free kick was five yards back from the offence and they stopped us taking it quick ffs.
This fucking ref man
Why wasn't Ings booked for not retreating there?
Love the strategy of progressively passing it back to Botman, and then playing the long ball. It’s like the opposite of regular football.
What the fuck is this slow motion kick about happening between the back 4 in the 87th minute? Fucking hell
Serious question, do we have a young striker to bring up if Wilson gets injured?
Most of them got loaned out and none of them are quality
Other than isak no
The commentary on the NBC stream has been so fucking weird.
"Stoppage time brought to you by Geico" "Here's our first half highlights sponsored by Burger King" "Today's Adidas man of the match is..."
Don’t forget the inevitable Ford F-150 ads
It was a library in the first half. The crowd should also support when the players are having a rough time.
We’re class at drawing bottom half teams 😂
Not happening, is it?
This game has strengthened my love of Bruno
Fucking more draws: at least it wasnt 0-0 but we were outplayed for 60 mins today
Outplayed isn’t the right word when most of the game has been in their half. We’re just straight lacking predatory instinct.
They absolutely bossed the game from 15 mins until 75 min
Did they? Didn’t have a shot on target except the one from corner. Defending was on point, as was possession for most of the game. We lacked creativity, Gordon did help a bit with that.
Rice had total control of the game, they might not have threatened much but they had control, and we were out of it.
The way West Ham consistently commit fouls but never get yellow carded is commendable
Once Bruno gets back the Bruno and Gordon linkup will be mint
Do the lads know they can shoot? Everything is an intricate pass or a cross
