I know you're kidding but just so people are aware before they let their "extra brave" kid play.... The reason VR isn't recommended for children is because it can impact their eyes/vision. Their eyes are still developing and the strain of VR goggles can lead to advanced myopia/poor vision.
It’s because no one’s brain can tell the difference from reality and fake shows/movies… so under 10 years old can really scare them, in turn actually traumatizing them, not they “freak out” try to put yourself where ever that game is placed
Yeah these trash parents psychologically damaging this child and laughing at him. You're right I don't see it mentioned often but your brain can't tell the difference even though in your prefrontal cortex you're telling yourself it's fake the other parts of your brain think it's real and react accordingly.
My man I’m 15 I’m just telling my experience we couldn’t afford it at the time since the quest or anything wasn’t out so we went to a vr rental place and I loved it
Yeah but if you get one from IKEA pretty soon the police show up and then their parents... honestly I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth the money. Come to think of it I don't think they remembered to charge me ...hmmm. I think I might have fucked up.
A zombie game of all things. If the headset fits and the kid is generally healthy I’d say it’s ok to let them play some Minigolf or something. But a zombie game? Wow…
Some studies are coming out showing that VR can effect the movement development in children. VR in general should not be used by children. This is much more serious then TVs for older generations.
And this is coming from someone who uses VR everyday.
> And this is coming from someone who uses VR everyday.
As someone who's had a VR headset for like 2 years, how??? How is there enough content that you use it every day? I'm genuinely curious
Lol, I've had mine for roughly 2 years now too (quest 2).
I usually play beat saber, Pavlov and my favorite is VTOL VR, sometimes I play onward instead Pavlov if I'm in the mood for realism und not funny like in Pavlov.
I initially had no PC games but getting Pavlov, beat saber on the PC brought a lot of new content for those games.
I love flying and getting better at combat so VTOL VR despite on the surface being simple, getting good is a whole other thing that takes a ton of practice. Same thing with beat saber which I also use to warm up before a workout.
There is apparently a lot in VRChat but I haven't found much and annoyed by all the children. But speaking of this, I gotta try on PC, probably better.
Some good games that I haven't gone back to but where great to play are: saints and sinners, half life alyx and blade and sorcery.
There is actually a lot to do depending on your interests and goals.
Tldr: like 90% of my time goes into getting better in Beat saber and VTOL VR. Sometimes Pavlov to fuck around.
Nope. They saw differences in motor skills within VR immediately due to the implementations of VR and fundamental differences in bodies of adults and children. Basically VR and it's movement (body kinematics and size) is made for adults and children are smaller and move differently so they must adapt different move styles that are unnatural to their age.
Children can use VR without problems depending what they are doing. If hand eye coordination is required and certain movement styles in games are used, then they can be bad for development.
VR isn't the same as TV. It's incredibly immersive for sight and movement. People who have never truly played VR for long periods of time or at all are not fully aware of this.
I see. And it’s probably right for some experiences. But lots of them are more passive like tv and don’t require hand coordination. And some others have perfect height adaption and can be played seated as well. Walkabout Minigolf for example doesn’t care how tall or short you are. Moss you play seated and don’t have to adapt to anything. Etc. etc.
Not saying VR doesn’t have any effect though and limiting it before a certain age is probably the safest before we know any better.
Do you have a link to one of those studies? I’d like to read more about it.
Guessing it’s this one? https://neurosciencenews.com/virtual-reality-children-19370/
That would confirm my I tuition that this is valid for a limited set of VR experiences that have certain unnatural control inputs. Any more natural experiences or experiences that require no control would not be relevant for this.

Fuck these parents. I bet little shit box will remember this video when he recalls said fucking zombie trauma when he sees it 15 years later and instantly becomes one half of the Mendez brothers.
At least 4 adults watching that poor baby freak out and not one of them comforts him. They all just let him freak out and run into a wall in his panic.
Yes let’s terrify my kid as we collectively laugh at him and fuck up his eyes for laughs…you’re not supposed to let younger kids use VR, it screws with their eye development. Even a little bit of time can be really bad. He’s so young that VR probably feels super real to him. Trash parents.
Yeah that's fucked up, I let my 4 year old neice use my vr headset for literally 5 minutes in a space game, so she was just floating in space looking at the stars and planets, she loved it but it was only 5 minutes cos it isn't good for their eyes, but I'd never put them on anything scary
This is neglect at best and abuse at worst. Kids shouldn't use VR. Please research if and why things are recommended for certain ages before you decide you know better. Not all age restrictions are to suck the joy out of life.
VR is not recommended for anyone under 10 years old.
And this might be the main reason.
I know you're kidding but just so people are aware before they let their "extra brave" kid play.... The reason VR isn't recommended for children is because it can impact their eyes/vision. Their eyes are still developing and the strain of VR goggles can lead to advanced myopia/poor vision.
I figured there was a better reason- running into walls just dropped down to second place!
This is the actual reason
It’s because no one’s brain can tell the difference from reality and fake shows/movies… so under 10 years old can really scare them, in turn actually traumatizing them, not they “freak out” try to put yourself where ever that game is placed

No I feel like it depends on maturity I played at 8 years old and loved Arizona sunshine
You must be like 10 by now.
My man I’m 15 I’m just telling my experience we couldn’t afford it at the time since the quest or anything wasn’t out so we went to a vr rental place and I loved it
a 15 year old should not have the user name feed me penis on the internet then advertise it...
Who else would have that name but a 15 year old?
A penis connoisseur?
Hey I never said you should sir
Isn't the quest 2 not supposed to be used by anyone under 13?
Isn't that because of data collection laws?
Possibly. But I thought it was also to do with just the size and weight of the headset. It's not designed to be worn on heads that small.
Could easily be both, since if I recall you need a Meta account to use it, right?
Probably is both.
[удалено]
Ohh, that'd be another good reason, yeah.
Quest 2 is 13 yr. Ps vr2 is 12 yr.
That looks like a quest 2 in the video. And I don't think that kid is 13
Most online services require you to be 13+, anything that had you create a subscription
Carson Wentz is 30.
I love seeing them cry in fear
And over 60. my parents with the shark cage VR demo springs to mind
It's actually 13 in the Meta Quest TOS.
*12
absolutely
13*
I understand why
With the title, I was expecting him to run into the wall with the headset on. Lol, this kid did it all on his own.
Probably had his eyes shut and was just pegging it for dear life without thinking
Yeesh, remind me never to hand VR to a small child
But if you do, make sure to record it so we can all laugh at them.
I mean, the box and instructions tell you that already
Wait… kids come in boxes ???
Only if you get them off wish.com
Or IKEA
Damn assembling viking kids is tough
Yeah but if you get one from IKEA pretty soon the police show up and then their parents... honestly I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth the money. Come to think of it I don't think they remembered to charge me ...hmmm. I think I might have fucked up.
Wait... On the box is written you should film your children when they do stupid things?
All I’m seeing is actual gameplay footage of Carson Wentz, what are you guys seeing?
Can here for this
This is a young Carson foreshadowing his future NFL career
Poor kid, who lets a 5 year old play VR, and worse, apparently something scary?
A zombie game of all things. If the headset fits and the kid is generally healthy I’d say it’s ok to let them play some Minigolf or something. But a zombie game? Wow…

VRChat, people use it daily for years and will likely never stop once they start.
My spouse uses vr to work out
I suppose it’s all about the dose. 30 minutes here and there probably won’t have the same effect as hours every day.

No, the headset does not fit. nobody under thirteen can use a quest 2, or most headsets for that matter. It does damage to their eyesight,
Damage to their eyesight? Like people used to say about watching tv. Is there a study to support that?
Yeah, I play paintball in rec room with my buddy’s 6 year old. Those zombi games scare the shit out of me, very well a child.
Wtf is this crap little dude is terrified. And the fact everyone is laughing is juts sad. Those adults are Fucking losers.
These are people who breed sadly
Traumatised for life, core memory unlocked!
Jesus that is really not something I would laugh at ffs
Seriously though this is kind of fucked up
PLEASE SHOW WHAT HE WAS SEEING.
zombies
My daughter is 7 and can’t handle anything zombie related. (Except for that Disney movie?!) this kid is what, 4?! Freaking terrified. Poor baby.
Shoot our 7 year old loves scary movies. All she wants to watch lol
How and why are people such shit parents. It’s mystifying.
Poor little bugger probably had nightmares for weeks

Good bot
Why the hell did he run into the wall on his own lmao, like it wasn't 2 steps it was a full sprint across the room
He was just submerged in a reality he couldn't fully process by adults he trusted, to be confronted by a zombie. Fight or flight.
He was prolly thinking the headset was still on and something was still chasing him?
I mean even then full on slamming into a wall is not the move lol
He's a very young, scared child. It's not that hard to figure out.
Yea, if zombies attack he should be left behind. He's a risk.
He's also small, though. He won't hold them off for long.
If you slow it down you can see he still looked back after he hit the wall. Looks terrified af to me.
VR fucks with children’s eyes and movement btw it’s really unhealthy for young kids
Think he knew that would get a laugh out of the crowd haha, he doesn't actually run into it full steam
No, no, no… not cool. Poor kid.
That kid is for sure too young to be on VR
Fuck these parents. I bet little shit box will remember this video when he recalls said fucking zombie trauma when he sees it 15 years later and instantly becomes one half of the Mendez brothers.

Haha child abuse so funny
Looks like they have plenty of spares.
Core memory...
Just like Wentz.
At least 4 adults watching that poor baby freak out and not one of them comforts him. They all just let him freak out and run into a wall in his panic.
This is why there is a warning that says 13 years or older, those idiots should not have given a child as young as that a VR headset.
wait until that kid finds out the eagles suck and Jalen can't hold the ball
Very funny game do far
Do they live in an aircraft hanger?
Looks like a basement that isn't partitioned into rooms
What was he playing?
What game is he playing?
Way to give your kid PTSD
If the kid believes in Santa don’t give them vr
Yeah, there's a reason why it's recommended you be 13+ before playing virtual reality.
And now you gave a traumatized child, hilarious
Shame man, he didn't enjoy that...
Poor kid
Trash people
Poor kid, those be sets are meant for kids 13 and up.

I laughed because I’m a despicable person.
Who on their right mind gives that kid a VR headset? He doesn't even look like he's 6 yet

Ahhh the old Carson wentz simulator
Imagine not quite being able to differentiate VR from reality, then being put into a game where monsters are trying to murder you (ngl still laughed)
He sounded like a stuck pig.
Cold abuse. Durant anyone read the age restriction guidance?
What game he playing
If it's the same reaction I had, gorilla tag after hearing all the squeakers.
They said zombies so maybe twd
That what he gets for wearing a Wentz jersey
Child abuse.
Haha awwwww that poor kid. This made me laugh
How is that funny. Seems to be child abuse. Where is CPS?
I love seeing kids cry and scared
/s right.... /S?
I think this belongs on r/KidsAreFuckingStupid
More like r/parentsarefuckingstupid
Well his jersey is fitting
Hey he’s doing it just like Wentz
Rare achievement!
Deepweb family
Imagine if you wiggle my brown, then he’s being attacked by a real zombie
I wonder when they'll release outlast for vr
Carson buckles under playoff pressure once again.
Guess he wentz the wall to hug him

Regretfully played this with sound on, now the dogs are running around like crazy
That’s exactly how Carson Wentz acts in the pocket. Hell of an impression by this kid.
He saw a 4k graphics redead in vr
Probably realized he was wearing a Carson Wentz jersey
perfect impersonation of Carson Wentz dropping back for a pass
more composed than Wentz in the pocket
This kid looks a little more composed then Wentz in the pocket, but I do see the resemblence
Good job traumatizing your child who can't even tell the difference between reality and virtual reality. Good job
Shitty parents.
