- Zero top 3 seeds for the first time in Final Four history
- Only one team that's won the title before.
- Two teams from mid-major conferences
- Three 1st-time Final Four participants for the first time since 1970
What a crazy-ass quartet we've got to close out this insane tournament.
UCONN definitely has a chance to win it all, but there’s also a chance one of the other three teams wins it all. Kind’ve a mind blowing stat that I just thought of.
That stat about three 1st time participants is great. 1970 was:
- Jacksonville
- New Mexico St.
- St. Bonaventure
Of course the team that had been there before, UCLA, won it all. Could be the same for UCONN this year.
It’ll be the weirdest game I’ve ever watched, but I’m rooting for Miami. UConn finally fixed their program. They’ll be back. Miami may never do this again
“We go into the ACC and win the league by five games. There’s no question about it. There’s nobody even in that league that could play in our league. Maybe Miami, maybe Pitt if you want to say that but I think they’re just having a good conference year.”
-WVU’s Erik Stevenson one month ago
We sent a 2,8 and 10 seed to the elite 8 in what was suppose to be a weak conference. Its almost like 25+ years of two teams dominating and now going through new head coaches and growing pains discredits the rest of the conference.
1st half: 9 combined fouls
2nd half: 28 combined fouls
Miami shot over 50% from the field the entire game, and over 60% for a good chunk of it, and still didn't take the lead until a little over 5 min to play.
What a run by Miami. Drake/Indiana/Houston/Texas is by FAR the hardest path a team took to the F4. And funny enough after all the shit the ACC got, yet again they’re present at the 3rd weekend.
And it all started when Drake simply couldn’t protect their lead in the final minutes of their game…could you imagine how different things would’ve been had they won?
The Longhorns scored 64 points in the first 26 minutes, but just 17 in the final 14 minutes, while allowing 33 points in the final 10 minutes. Credit to Miami of course, but Texas really fell apart down the stretch.
When Carr went down the team didn't really recover. Started getting super stagnant on offense trying to post Allen over and over. Turned it over a bunch. And I think Carr wasn't fully back when he checked back in. Couldn't get any separation on offense and Wong started to get it going vs him on the other end too.
i felt like the suffocating defense that eliminated our guards ended up taking away your shooting legs down the stretch too. what's inexcusable for y'all is not constantly attacking the post once omier went back in with 4 fouls.
If there’s one person on this god forsaken website that I know has slogged through the shit as much as I have with watching this program it’s you. WE OUT HERE
I know people are gonna say this was a choke because lolTexas, but Miami made a lot of fucking tough shots in that second half and shot like 90% from the FT line as a team. Calling it a choke doesn’t do justice to how well Miami played imo. Good game
After Beard was fired, I think I speak for all Texas fans when I say it felt over. We had a game that night against Rice and it went to overtime. OVERTIME. Against Rice. Then we gave up 116 to Kansas State at home.
Ever since that moment, Rodney Terry took over and led us to our best season since 2008. Incredible run. Any “Texas was almost back” comment is rich. We just had an amazing run. I love this team. For the time being, Go Owls and extend RT.
This Miami team is the perfect acc school for all other acc schools to get behind. Larranaga is the most loveable coach there is and they play such fun and loose basketball but with a lot of heart. The resting smile Wong walls around with helps too.
Go get that Natty!
The champion this year will either be an ACC team that is not Duke or UNC, a CUSA team, a Mountain West team, or the once-a-decade random juggernaut UConn out of the Big East. The highest seed in the final four this year is a 4, alongside two 5s and a 9. The Natty will be a 4-5 matchup, a 5-5, a 4-9, or a 5-9. This is March.
FAU has 35 wins and is top 20 in pretty much all metrics. They’re a Cinderella by historical program strength but not by their performance this season.
**I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!!!!!!!**
After Rice hit that 3 from deep to make it 62-49, I thought it was a wrap. We didn't even play poorly Texas was just shooting unconsciously well, and we pretty much beat Houston with a similarly scorching night. THEN EVERYTHING FLIPPED. Got a few favorable calls but the fact we made nearly all of our FTs (90%) and Miller shot a stupid 100% from the field, Texas stopped making shots, AHHHHHH WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO OUR FIRST FINAL FOUR MAN!!!!!!!!
Connecticut is gonna be scary af but I don't even care, WHAT A SEASON!!!
Yeah I think OP is underestimating Miami a little. These dudes look fast and strong, they defend well, can shoot, have a guy who can make long twos to keep momentum or cut an opponent’s run. And, very importantly: they are a good FT shooting team. Miami looks really solid.
Miller was literally perfect for the game. He went 13 of 13 from the charity stripe, and 7 of 7 from the field. Miller finished with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block.
For anyone complaining or confused about the ruling against Cunningham “boxing out”, you should read *Rule 4 Section 39* on Veritcality in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Book. You can find it [here](https://www.quickscores.com/downloads/ftmeadesports_20222023_Mens_NCAA_Basketball_Rulebook.pdf).
The relevant points are as follows:
> c. The space that a player may legally occupy is defined by an imaginary cylinder surrounding the player, which extends from the floor to as far above the player as he can jump or extend his arms and body. The diameter of the cylinder shall not extend beyond the hands/arms on the front (the arms bent at the elbow), the buttocks on the back and the legs on the sides. These dimensions may vary according to the height and size of the player.
> e. From such position, the defender may rise or jump vertically and occupy the space within his vertical plane.
> g. The defender shall not be penalized for leaving the playing court vertically or having his hands and arms extended within the vertical plane.
> h. The offensive player, whether on the playing court or airborne, shall not “clear out” or cause contact that is not incidental.
> i. The defender may not “belly up” or use the lower part of the body or arms to cause contact outside his vertical plane or inside the opponent's vertical plane.
There are two points of contention for this play: did Omier jump within his vertical plane, and was Cunningham’s contact while Omier was in the air “incidental”? The second point seems obvious to me, but others may disagree. Cunningham did not make a move for the ball, and he continued backwards into Omier’s vertical space. That, to me, constitutes a foul. The first point is a little trickier. Did Omier jump straight up, or did he reach over the back of Cunningham? From the replay, it’s hard to tell due to the simultaneous act of Cunningham moving backwards. So you could say that two fouls occurred on this play. But since Omier was making a move towards the ball and Cunningham was not, I think that led the refs to call a foul in favor of Miami.
This Miami team is fun to watch.
They’re like a guy with a small dick who knows how to use it. They have heart. They make up for their lack of size by giving it their all with every stroke. But really, they have a lot girth. You never really think about girth. Their dick was never small. It’s thick. And that helps more than anything.
The Hurricanes are fucking thick. Purdue has been used to giving their girl the long dick. They got too confident. Eddy ain’t no OG Mudbone. Tonight your girl was feeling adventurous. She fucked a man with some real thickness. I’m talking Girth Brooks thickness. I’m talking Norchad Omier thickness. The dark horse of cocks. Your girl was tired of getting that deep dick. She wanted to be stretched and filled. Don’t ever underestimate how girth can make your girl feel.
Thank you Hurricanes, for teaching a valuable lesson.
Unbelievable change in the way the game was being called after Texas went up 53-41 with 17:00 left. SIXTEEN fouls were then called in the next 7 minutes or so. Completely destroyed the rhythm of the game.
37 total in the game with 27 of them coming after that point.
See Tennessee, this is what you're supposed to do when you make a "don't pick us" video
What’s this driving the ball, shooting percentage, or making your free throws? I don’t get it.
- Zero top 3 seeds for the first time in Final Four history - Only one team that's won the title before. - Two teams from mid-major conferences - Three 1st-time Final Four participants for the first time since 1970 What a crazy-ass quartet we've got to close out this insane tournament.
All of this to say UConn will win, absolute chaos team
the chaos move would be for UConn to not win the ultimate chaos tournament
Somehow Princeton returned...
It’s almost too obvious at this point
Which means it won’t happen.
100%....which means it will
50/50
Literally, they either win or they don’t. Crazy…
No one can predict it. Knowing this tournament, none of the Final Four teams will win this year.
Super hot take, I'm here for it.
UCONN definitely has a chance to win it all, but there’s also a chance one of the other three teams wins it all. Kind’ve a mind blowing stat that I just thought of.
That stat about three 1st time participants is great. 1970 was: - Jacksonville - New Mexico St. - St. Bonaventure Of course the team that had been there before, UCLA, won it all. Could be the same for UCONN this year.
TWO SOUTH FLORIDA SCHOOLS!!!!!
So Florida Football looking at us with jealous eyes!! Imagine a FAU vs THE U final! Let’s fucking gooo!!!
DONT PICK US!
We’re going against UConn I can almost guarantee you they won’t pick us! 😅
It’s the Mecca of College Hoop$
What chaos indeed! Which means that the path for Connecticut to win it is the clearest it’s been yet 🫠
I wouldn't feel safe traveling a road chaos paved.
>Three 1st-time Final Four participants for the first time since 1970 Let's hope it doesn't end like 1970, and we get a 1st-time champ instead
CHEAP TICKETS LETS GOOOOO
It’s amazing how much people assumed that Houston would’ve been full of Coogs/Longhorns/TAMU Aggies fans…and then by the end…
My wallet is smiling
People were thinking of us? Yall gonna get me all teary-eyed.
Imagine the scenes if we get an FAU v. UM championship game lol
That one dude's sister's "I just likes Florida teams" mentality is becoming reality. Edit: /u/Number333 how you and your sister feeling now.
She has 710pts, with a max potential still of 1350 on ESPN. In the Top 50,000 I had Houston/Gonzaga/Duke/Virginia. Finished with 440pts.
Well your first mistake was Virginia
I still hate y’all and will forever have you losing in the first round.
Good bet, that or the championship.
I’d rather have the championship
Maybe you just underestimated how much your sister knows ball?
She's an art dork and doesn't like sports. It's INFURIATING
She's just playing the long con. Shes a sports nerd in the shadows.
Tale as old as time. Spend 30 hours researching brackets to get beat out by the 'I picked the blue teams' bracket.
That comment had me cracking up.
South Florida is practically going to shut down on Monday!
ultra is already doing a decent job rn
"We've replaced this year's Final Four with the Bahama Breeze Invitational. Let's see if anyone notices."
The Final four brought to you by Blue Martini
South Florida might erupt into flames
I mean, summer will be here soon anyway
I'm here for it
That one dude's sister is going to win the tourney challenge.
Who’s ready for the classic UConn-Miami Big East rivalry match
Jim Larrañaga… Welcome to the Hall of Fame
Your flairs..next game..oh Lord
It’ll be the weirdest game I’ve ever watched, but I’m rooting for Miami. UConn finally fixed their program. They’ll be back. Miami may never do this again
Noble approach..Miami is definitely fun to watch, at around that 5 min mark or so I was like fuck UT won, but damn took balls to come back like that
UConn will be back again and when we least expect it lmao
NAME THE COURT AFTER HIM
Bruh it should just be called Jim Larrañaga University I love this man
Gym Larranaga
dislike Jim Larrañaga challenge level: impossible
The ACC fans on this sub are going to be absolutely insufferable if Miami wins the championship
At least there’s only 4 Miami fans…
WE OUT HERE
Dont think im flaired up but GO CANES
South Florida loves a winner you’ll see people come out the woodwork.
Checking in
Got some CANES over here!
https://i.redd.it/5yt3uusgn7qa1.gif
WOOSH WOOSH
secondary flair so do I make it 4.5?
Shit, we're up to 4 fans?!?
Oh come on now, there’s got to be at least 5 of you
There’s dozens of us!
“We go into the ACC and win the league by five games. There’s no question about it. There’s nobody even in that league that could play in our league. Maybe Miami, maybe Pitt if you want to say that but I think they’re just having a good conference year.” -WVU’s Erik Stevenson one month ago
No one was more proud of being 8th in their conference than WVU fans
WVU gets turned down by every major conference in the Eastern United States. "All those conferences are just scared if our dominance." - WVU fans
Miami's in the Final Four and he's chilling at the Copeacabana
Lol saving the receipts baby
I can’t wait to be obnoxious.
LET’S GO ACC BROS DOOKIES WYA
I like you but just this once. Let’s go Miami!
BANG BANG CANE GANG
Get it done Canes!!
SURE WHY NOT
ACC! ACC! ACC!
Well, we heard all year how great the Big 12 was …
Damn right
A win for Miami is a win for all of us at this point
ACC!
To be fair the acc fans have had to deal with a lot of insufferable on this sub this season.
I’ve also had to deal with my share of disappointment and despair this season. I will ride with my Miami bros til the end.
Welcome, we love it!!!
Helps that much of the ACC doesn't particularly hate Miami.
They rode with us last year when we played duke and kansas. Absolutely rooting for the canes to go get this championship
Rooting for ACC supremacy and those tasty tasty tournament units
Hop on ACC bro!
Yeah b10 and b12 fans have had it coming a long time
Even sec fans have been talking a lot.
I mean it’s pretty funny to see zero Big 12 teams in the Final Four after they were hyping themselves up all season
Ah yes, the Big Ten special
YUP
Let’s go ACC bros! Hop on this bandwagon!
I mean all year long we hear the ACC disrespect. We heard it all last year also and sent multiple teams to the elite 8.
50% of the final four, too.
[удалено]
We sent a 2,8 and 10 seed to the elite 8 in what was suppose to be a weak conference. Its almost like 25+ years of two teams dominating and now going through new head coaches and growing pains discredits the rest of the conference.
Right? As if fighting against the best year in and year out doesn’t battle test the rest of our programs.
I will be rooting for them. Would be great to see FAU/SDSU win too
Yes we are. After hearing how down the conference has been the past two years, it should be a talking point until the end of time.
Damn straight
1st half: 9 combined fouls 2nd half: 28 combined fouls Miami shot over 50% from the field the entire game, and over 60% for a good chunk of it, and still didn't take the lead until a little over 5 min to play.
Texas 3-point shot making in the 1st half was just stupid. Felt like they went 7-8 minute stretches without missing.
They missed their first two 3s, but made 7 of their final 11 of the half.
That's how y'all beat us 😭
numb is the only way I feel
Now imagine how I feel
Numb and number
Honestly, I almost started to feel things for the first time since Colt went down vs Alabama. Then the numbness set back in.
I’m just here for the over-the-back/blockout debate
Miami in this game https://preview.redd.it/lndq92i7m7qa1.jpeg?width=3464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=2191be45d7c0db0e6eb234b20c3f946bac062317
It’s unbelievable that Jordan Miller didn’t miss once. This is the final four we all expected!
get Jim Larrañaga in the Hall of Fame please
What a run by Miami. Drake/Indiana/Houston/Texas is by FAR the hardest path a team took to the F4. And funny enough after all the shit the ACC got, yet again they’re present at the 3rd weekend.
And it all started when Drake simply couldn’t protect their lead in the final minutes of their game…could you imagine how different things would’ve been had they won?
Probably looking at houston vs ut today
The exact same thought about Memphis blowing the end of the FAU game….

They absolutely could not miss those first 26 minutes it was wild
Yep, you had to assume they’d cool off a bit, but Miami pushing the ball helped change the momentum.
What an incredible comeback by Miami.
Crazy!
All thanks to the rest of the elite ACC teams for pushing them all year, obviously…
This wouldn't be possible without all of our Q4 losses
Some ridiculous comebacks too. Down 8 against Drake and now down 13 against Texas
Just so happened before the tournament started, Miami was the one ACC team I didn’t want to face. Too scared of their guards
Miami vs UConn will be a treat.
Like the Big East battles of old
I was at uconn then. I remember Darius rice
I still remember that game...
Yes, this. Now I don't feel so bad for losing.
Yes, but also no. 😥
One ACC champ goes out in the first round, the other to the Final Four. The tournament is crazy
JORDAN MILLER LEGACY GAME OH MY FUCKING GOD BUILD THE STATUE
Hi I’m an emotional wreck
If there’s one person on this god forsaken website that I know has slogged through the shit as much as I have with watching this program it’s you. WE OUT HERE

FLORIDA STAND UP 🗣
OMIER WITH FOUR FOULS WITH THE DEFENSE
I know people are gonna say this was a choke because lolTexas, but Miami made a lot of fucking tough shots in that second half and shot like 90% from the FT line as a team. Calling it a choke doesn’t do justice to how well Miami played imo. Good game
Miami shot 26 free throws in the second half which is insane

To be fair, Texas doesn't play Rice in basketball because it's easy...
"Fuck it"
John Ruiz is the Warren Buffet of NIL investments
This Miami team is the perfect acc school for all other acc schools to get behind. Larranaga is the most loveable coach there is and they play such fun and loose basketball but with a lot of heart. The resting smile Wong walls around with helps too. Go get that Natty!
Coach L is the best. Very happy for him. I thought Miami was - by far - the best ACC team all season.
Uconn and the ACC champions don't seem far fetched the 2 teams on the left side are Cinderellas for sure
FAU has 35 wins and is top 20 in pretty much all metrics. They’re a Cinderella by historical program strength but not by their performance this season.
We were a Creighton win away from the first 6-9 matchup ever lol
Almost nice :(
**I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!!!!!!!** After Rice hit that 3 from deep to make it 62-49, I thought it was a wrap. Larranaga has a history of beating seemingly unbeatable UConn teams.
I was fully prepping my "they shot historically well" defense for us losing

Miami is walking into an absolute buzzsaw But man I’d love to see them pull the upset off
They've been walking into an absolute buzzsaw practically all tournament.
they beat Houston #1 seed Indiana #4 seed and Texas #2 seed already
they just beat Kenpom 2 and Kenpom 5. maybe the real buzzsaw is the friends we made along the way.
to be fair, Texas was also supposed to be a buzzsaw
And they were for 31 mins
They were until they weren't
UConn is so underseeded that the NCAA won’t even recognize it as an upset lmao
Beat Indiana by 16 Beat Houston by 14 Beat Texas by 7 including a 28-11 run in the last 9 minutes Miami *is* a buzzsaw
Yeah I think OP is underestimating Miami a little. These dudes look fast and strong, they defend well, can shoot, have a guy who can make long twos to keep momentum or cut an opponent’s run. And, very importantly: they are a good FT shooting team. Miami looks really solid.
Jordan > Brandon in Miller math.
It’s finally happened! We going to the FINAL FOUR!!! It’s great to be a Miami Hurricane!
That’s gonna leave a sour taste in my mouth. Gg’s Canes. I am broken.
Can't have three straight Big 12 winners. Thanks Miami the new boys on the block
Last year they failed to knock out Kansas (last Big 12 team). This year they delivered
Miller was literally perfect for the game. He went 13 of 13 from the charity stripe, and 7 of 7 from the field. Miller finished with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block.
Miami was playing a hell of a game the entire time, Texas just played a tiny bit better up until the last 10 minutes.
Miami conditioning is out of control they didn’t even look tired
Holy fucking shit…we’re in the Final Four…I never believed it would ever happen…
ACC has fallen off bad guys
Lol
Mountain West, C-USA, Big East, ACC - just as we all expected
For anyone complaining or confused about the ruling against Cunningham “boxing out”, you should read *Rule 4 Section 39* on Veritcality in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Book. Sir, this is a Papa John's
TLDR: Miami are masterful chodes
is this a pasta
It is now.
Well… guess we found who’s been hitting the celebratory beers already.
Man has been wanting to make this speech his whole life
He's posted this in the last 3 game threads. As far as I'm concerned, this comment is the secret sauce.
Unbelievable change in the way the game was being called after Texas went up 53-41 with 17:00 left. SIXTEEN fouls were then called in the next 7 minutes or so. Completely destroyed the rhythm of the game. 37 total in the game with 27 of them coming after that point.
